Went in yesterday for a pedi and full set, rude!!! New people definitely don't have customer service and will stare you down as soon as you walk in. The lady doing my pedi put the wrong color on me. When I did my full set 2 nails were cricket when I asked to to please fix it she tried to file them and said it's fine it's okay. It's not okay I'm paying for the service. I spend 3 hours for the service that was ridiculous. The old owners were definitely better. read more

Place is clean and nice. The reason for the low stars are below. 1. I stopped in for a regular pedi and full set. Once my pedi was complete and i was getting my full set, i was told that i got a 45+ dollar pedi which is not what i asked for. The tech got very defensive after i told her that i did not ask for that. 2. My nails were not shaped or done as i asked. The woman who did the acrylic ALS filling was great, but the woman who painted them (Same as my pedi) was terrible. Her work was very bad. I ended up having to go to another shop to have my nails fixed to avoid arguing with them. All in all, it You come in to get a pedi, please express to them which ones you want until they fully understand. If not they will over charge you. My simple full set w/gel and a regular pedi with gel cane out to 115 dollars. Nothing special on them just plain. Highly disappointed. read more

I have to take a second and write about how amazing this place is! First I wanna say that the owner is so sweet and always makes sure everyone is taken care of. They offer drinks and candy which is a level of customer service most nail salons don't have. Hanh (not sure if I'm spelling it right lol) did my nails pictured here. Let me just say that he is the only one who has ever gotten the shape I want perfectly. I have a couple crooked fingers and he managed to make them all look even and perfectly square. This is my 4th time going here. I go because the customer service is good. They offer candy and drinks and the guy is super nice. Generally the place is overpriced, but for good customer service and good quality I was willing to pay. Today, however was a different experience. The nail technician I had cut my thumb cuticle, it was bleeding so bad and stung like hell! She then continued to put acetone on all my nails including the bloody cuticle one. She acted like it was no big deal and kind of giggled, but didn't even say sorry for cutting me. She was rough with me the whole time. When she proceeded w the manicure she used a used cuticle nipper. Sanitation at this place is now questionable to me. The lady who did shellac on my daughter did good, but she just put gel polish on her. Shellac 10yr old $15 $5 to take my acrylic off And $25 for my white gel which she put about 6 layers of polish on. I tipped $2 for the lady that did my daughters nails. I would rate 2.5 if I could but only because my nails looked perfect. I don't remember the name of the woman who did them. I am new to Kent so I have been scouring a new nail spot. Here is why I have them a low rating and will not return: 1. Price: over the phone I was quoted $30 for acrylic fill and shellac. They also charge a $3 for using a credit card. My biggest shock was that they charge an additional al $3 for matte top! That's ridiculous in my opinion. So I hashed out a total of $37 for something I've gotten $12 cheaper for in other spots 2. Pain: as you can see in the pictures, I had cuts in my cuticles due to the technicians carelessness. I have never felt so uncomfortable getting my nails done. I would not say I was in writhing pain, but it's was uncomfortable pain, and she knew I kept jerking my hands, but continued her technique. (I still tipped her too!) The funny thing is that she was not aggressive with her technique, and she did a beautiful job with my nails! She just hurt the heck out of my cuticles. Glad I didn't get an infection. Save to say I won't be back. It's a shame. My nails have never looked so good! :/ read more

Laugh if you want, but this place is awesome! I joined the Lady of the Empire, and we shared some pedicures and she continued with a "Seahawk" style manicure. Every, and I mean EVERY employee is kind and generous. If you enjoy being pampered, this is your place. First, you're greeted, offered a wide array of beverages, which includes beer or wine. The pedicure is appropriately priced at $20, which includes a hot foot bath, a heated massaging chair, and impeccable service. Also includes, a calf and feet rub down, hot rocks, and a steamy hot towel. They were very accommodating, turning the tv on the back wall to a college football game, and even though my pedicure was complete, I was able to sit in the massage chair as my wife had her manicure done. Can't say enough about the hospitality here. So, in short, the price is right, the service is genuine and excellent, and they truly make you feel relaxed. I came in desperate to remove my shellac that I got at my spot in Woodinville. I was supposed to go to a party and wanted the shellac off and just get a regular mani with standard nail polish. I called ahead and was able to squeeze me in. I was greeted by who I think was the owner and was quickly taken to the regular nail polish wall to pick out my color. I was then sat with whom I believe his wife (she didn't have the standard white coat on like the other girls and when I was finished, a customer wanted her to do her nails as she was about to start a pedicure). They offered me water, coke or sprite, I obviously took sprite :) Thought that was nice. Anyway, She was really nice, I've only had shellac removed once before so I don't recall how it went, but she started off filing the gel off and then put a cotton ball and acetone, wrapped it in foil and let it sit for a little bit before soaking my nails in water, then clipping and filing down to my desired length. I mean, it probably took 30 or so minutes, costing me only $17.50? I was shocked to hear how low it was for both the shellac removal and the manicure w/ polish. The place itself was super girly, very, very girly. Chandeliers, pink, pink, pink! There is one big screen tv for when you're getting your pedicure done, I couldn't see from where I was sitting (by the entrance). The place was quiet when I came in, people just leaving as they were done. But within what felt like 10 minutes, the place was full up again, people waiting in the chairs for their turn. I love my girls in Woodinville and won't replace them at all, even if this place is closer. But I know where to go when I need my shellac removed and too lazy to do it myself. read more

For starters, the spa has a nice atmosphere. It's cute, comfy, they offer you free candy + drinks, employees are nice and they'll be likely strike up a conversation with you. For this set I paid 70 bucks, and although they did use a good shellac and put a design which both cost extra, i don't think that these nails are worth what i paid. Generally, I do think the nails are very pretty but I wish there was more attention to detail because when you look closely there's a a lot of unevenness, and acrylic + cured shellac under my nails. But for the most part they look good, quality and build not great. The process of getting my nails done was relaxing and I never felt any pain when they used the drills which is expected but nice, they also put cuticle oil on me after everything was done. read more

I've been coming here for months and I feel awful for not reviewing them earlier. Tammy and Vi always slaaaaay my nails. It's always feeling like you're the belle of the ball. They offer you drinks and snacks (candy) while you're there and have a wonderful staff and even more wonderful experience. I love coming in and I absolutely love how skilled and tedious they are about detail. I've never had a bad experience here, though I'm tempted to get some of their other services because I'm so satisfied with their nail and pedicure. I went here the other day for a mani pedi based on the reviews here. First , the pedi was very good. comfortable chairs, clean, and the gal doing it did a wonderful job. The manicure on the other hand was the opposite. I had asked for a full acrylic set with an almond shape. I needed them short as I type cpnstaufor work and she told me no and they would have to be long to keep the shape. She also over filed my cuticles and nail beds. Half of my cuticles were bleeding when she was finished. One in particular is still really torn up. The acrylic nails were entirely too long and I filed them down when I got home to a more manageable length. IF you do end up going here, don't go on the weekend as they are busy and really rush through the clients. read more

I had a really great experience at this salon. Saw this place had great reviews on yelp so I called ahead asking for prices and if they were available. Came in 10 mins after calling and came at the perfect time. Was not busy and had a great mani/pedi that was relaxing and did not feel rushed like some other places tend to. Right away I was offered a beverage and some candy. The staff are all friendly and did not spend too much time trying to converse which is something I appreciate when getting my nails done. Would definitely come back and recommend this place. The only reason this review isn't a perfect 5 stars is because I asked for almond shape nails and a few of them were more squared than almond, but I was able to shape the few when I got home. read more

I went here as a suggestion from my bff and her nails are always looking GREAT. But I think I just came on a bad day or Something. She filed too close to my nail bed so it hurt really bad on my Pinky and exposed my nail bed(almost bleeding) And while they painted my nails they didn't cover the sides and when I told her she said I know and didn't cover them still? So..... idk. Kinda disappointed being as this is my first time getting a pedicure let alone a manicure. Also I'm Vietnamese and they were talking maaaaad crap about everyone and the lady working on my nails was a little over the top. First visit here, i love the layout and the fact that there are complementary drinks and candy and wine for $15, but I got a lot of mean looks from a bunch of the ladies there, but I got my fair share of smiles. I got French tips on my toes and I had a crack in my toe and she sprinkled some acrylic attempting to fix it, if she would've use more I feel like she could've completely fixed it but there was still a gap separating my real nail from acrylic. She put paper towel in between my toes instead of the actual sponge toe separator. When she was finished she disinfected her tools in my dirty water. I have a high tolerance for pain but when I put my feet in that water it was scorching. It seemed as if she didn't want to be there doing my feet the lady next to me pampered the girl, i got a quick massage... The end result was good, besides the crack in my toe, but i would've much rather had a longer massage and maybe some small talk. Rather than getting dirty looks. My friend got a full set and they looked absolutely amazing and they were done by a male. I may go back only for the man, he was very nice and fixed my thumb nail from a recent bad experience. The next day i came back to see if they could fix my toe and she sat me at a dirty chair with the used bag still in the foot bath. She took clipper and cut off the acrylic and then put some supper glue in between the crack. She didn't file it down she just placed clear polish over my toe.. she didn't even redo the French tip. Just left the original polish. She rushed me out of the chair but i said thank you to both of them. Gel polish selection here is very limited. So if you want gel, you might as well bring your own. I'm a nude kinda gal when it comes to my nails and they had absolutely no nude gel polish. I settled for a light pink. While my nail tech did ok shaping my nails, the acrylic is very thick and my nails look really chunky. She also cut my finger a few times and she nonchalantly says "it's ok I cut myself all the time" (Um what? That makes it ok?) A few times I felt the drill start to get hot so I was nervous she was going to burn me. The owner was very friendly and offered a beverage and candy but that's not the reason I go to nail salons. 2 stars for the quality of nails and added star for the customer service. I had been going for a few years, but if I don't opt for Shellac (extra cost) because I bring my own high end CND Vinylux - I'm handed off to inexperienced nail techs. This last Full Set (I take my nails to the bed once a year to start fresh) is ridiculously amateurish. I give 30% tips on top of cost, but if I have to file down lumpy acrylic, I am DONE being a client of TLA. The quality USED to be why I loved this shop - I was very pleased! I found my new go-to nail spot!! It's literally five minutes from my house which is a major bonus. I like this place so much I came twice in one day - seriously. First time around I came with my sister to get a fill, and the second time I came to get a pedicure with my (soon to be) sister-in-law. The man who did my fill did a great job. I love the shape of my nails so much and he fixed what the salon in California did... The acrylics I got done there looked terrible and he completely cleaned them up and took lots of care to make sure they looked great. He also made genuine conversation with my sister and I - he seriously seemed to care about us and our lives! You don't really get that at most nail salons so that really stood out to me. The pedicure was amazing too - the lady that did my pedicure was very nice and just as genuine as the guy who did my fill. On top of that, this was the most relaxing pedicure I've ever had. Other places are kind of rough when the file your nails but she was really gentle and really aware every time I flinched because something was uncomfortable or tickled me (seriously, touch my foot with one finger and it tickles... it sucks). On top of all of that, during your visit they offer you free sodas, free candy, and the service is just impeccable no matter who you're dealing with. Make sure you get a punch card - after every four visits you get $5 off a service. P.S. I was teetering between a four and a five because the guy who did my fill cut me three times (once on pinky, once on ring finger, once on middle finger) with the drill used to smooth down acrylics... It hurt like a bitch. However, I haven't gone to ONE nail place that hasn't accidentally done that at least once, so... The service and experience here otherwise is so great that TLA still deserves a five. read more

Just finished getting a shellac manicure from TLA and I'm impressed with the service I received! I was sat down right away and was offered beverages and candy! The shellac color books are very easy to look through and I was able to find my colors with ease. Everybody was very friendly and I didn't feel like my mani was being rushed. The facilities were clean and everything was organized. My nail tech was very detail oriented, I noticed because she made sure my shellac was edged as close to my cuticle as possible! Hanh is hilarious - he makes me laugh and his wife does an amazing job on my pedicures. She takes her time making sure the nails are shaped perfectly before applying shellac.
