My mother has been going to him for over 20 years and knows the score. She made the mistake of questioning him and telling him her nails were not dry yet. So I'm very diss appointed in the low quality workers koi continues to hire. I went today for my birthday nails and left unsatisfied. I had asked initially for a color and the lady tells me yes then we get to the actual painting process and she starts putting on a completely different color on my nails. I left he know I did not like it nor was this what I had asked for. So I said if you don't have the color in like this picture, then I'll just do white. Yes his heifer starts putting plain white on top of my gel without removing the gel first and cleaning up the work and starting fresh she just put it on top since it was light enough.. but everyone knows you don't put plain white on top of any coat let alone 4 coats of gel polish . So after watching her I'm allowing her to flow without being anal. But I'm starting to se as it's drying g the clumps and bumps coming out of the paint like she had painted over some bubbles literally. First of all I have never been genuinely offended before and I went today and I was referred to a new Nail Lady to go to and it was actually the owner of this place called luxury nails in Kent and the owner is a guy and I went in there and I said I want a full set can you take these off and he goes it's five dollars to take those off and it's $32 for a full set and I said OK awesome that's great and then they take the nails off and I get in there and I was like yeah I want gel nails and he goes well that's $20 extra and I'm like $20 for polish and he goes well if you can't afford it then go somewhere else and get cheap nails and I'm like are you serious right now. I can more than afford it. I drive a $35,000 car for god sake. I'm just not gonna pay an over inflated fucking price on polish. Then charges me 10$ cuz they took my old nails off. Rude rude rude... I am beyond shocked at how they treated my almost 4 year old and right in front of me. She has gone many times to salons with me and got pedicures and always been treated like a human but they treated her like a dog...LITERLLY. Yes they have her a cookie, without asking me first, and a small bottle of water upon entry but then just ignored her the entire time. ON TOP OF THIS...the place is dirty. Filthy. The chairs are sticky and the massage chair pintches your skin. They don't line the pedicure tub with anything. It's very unfortunate that I'm posting a 2 star review since I have been going to this place for years. I also do my pedicures there and even being my husband sometimes. As of today, however, I am never coming back. I started coming to Luxury nails a few years ago because it was convenient with walk ins and the service was pretty good. I typically do acrylics with a design on 1 finger and it was good enough. I'm not an incredibly picky person. I gradually started to back away from going there because when it was bought over, the started relying on appointments. I noticed more shortcuts being taken ( i.e no base and topcoats) i found that the nails started to lift and would pop off. The acrylics were also done quickly which were causing them to be incredibly thick. The staff was the same so being bought over was pretty irrelevant. I Utimately went to different salon to remove them because of how thick they got. After 2 months of me using a different salon and converting from acrylics to just regular shellacs i decided to call to see if there was availability. The conversation on the phone. Me" Do you have time for a dip removal and a regular shellac today?" The old owner in annoyed tone "what time?" Me " what time is open?" The old owner " what time do YOU want to come in?" Me thinking now but thinking what a good time is. "Um, i think.." ( this though process and pause was about 10 seconds) The old owner CUTTING ME OFF in his continued annoyed tone " im very busy and i dont have time for this. Call back when you know when you want to come in. " hangs up on me. I called obviously asking what time is best for them. If my response was "now " which honestly would have been my preference, they wouldn't have had time. Im giving them a 2 because the work they did is decent. Not perfect by any means but i have loved many sets through the years and less than loved many others. It was bad enough for me to seek another salon but good enough for me to try again. I dropped a star because that is not how you handle your clients. I don't think he knew it was me their regular for the past few years ( they know me well) on the phone, but i think that's even worse. Do better. read more

The pedi was $25 but they did a hot towel and hot stone massage. Took their time and made it worth it. My nails are BEAUTIFUL! I am hoping they last 2 weeks plus. I got my nails done Friday June 7th and it didn't even last the whole weekend. The lady just rushed through with my nails, which I didn't get why because there was no one waiting. My nails are super uneven, she didn't listen to anything that I was saying because she was too busy talking to someone across the room in her language, she paid no attention to me. While I appreciate the fact that the salon stayed open past their closing hours for the clients, the pedicure I received turned out to be disastrous. When the pedicure was taking place, I could feel the technician digging into my toenail too hard but I tried to think nothing past me being sensitive. However, post pedicure, I now realize the pedicure caused me to have an abscess on my toe and I had to go an Urgent Care to fix it. I have been a loyal & long time customer have invited many new people that became customers. Well I made an appointment for a fill 3 days ago with the owner & for the owner to do my nails. When I arrived at my appointment there was a customer in the owners chair and I was asked to sit @ another nail persons table. I did. The nail person began working with on my nails & placed cotton swabs with acetone in foil on my nails. I wondered why since I did not have acrylics. I didn't say anything because I had dips & thought this was the procedure when you have dips. The owner finished the customer & asked what I wanted done. I responded, I wanted a fill, but she put this on my nails. The owner began yelling at me, saying "why didn't you say something "? As if I didn't know what I wanted, he wouldn't let me get a word in & told me "YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU WANT". He was yelling so loud & in a salon full of customers. He was so loud...he was shaking. I asked him, why are you yelling at me? I then got up, told him I don't deserve to be treated this way & pulled the foil off of my nails & left. I will NEVER go there again. read more

Stopped by here to get my shellac polish removed today and the lady that was wrapping my nails said a whole two words to me and left to go do someone else's pedicure. I sat there for a bit until someone else came to remove them, she didn't say a word to me and the process took less than 10 mins. I Went to go pay and a guy, who was sitting in the pedicure chair the whole time, not doing anything asked the owner guy, I think? If they were going to charge me and he said yes.... The lady that removed them: 'charge her $10' The owner guy: 'no it's just removal, charge her $7' The register guy: 'no I'll charge her $10' Which is what I paid with no tip :-) This was just funny to me because this all was in Vietnamese and they did not realize that I can understand everything. Also very annoying because they over charged me for NO reason, just because that guy wanted to. Oh what terrible customer service I experienced I went there Friday at to get a fill and a pedicure. I should the woman a picture or my idea ombré nails and she said I'll try well it did not look good. I told her to just do one color because I had been her almost 2 hours and I had to jet. I had shellac on hands and feet I get home and my nails bubbles up and my toe is smushed. I was headed out on a flight at 8 am so I called Saturday morning and told them I'd like to come next week and get it fixed. I call and they are so rude saying there nail polish would never do that and tell me I'm not welcomed so I pull up. I get in and there's a drunk girl screaming at me telling me to find another nail spot I'm like I just want my damn nail fixed. Welp here ya go I was willing to work it out but screw your guys. I got a pedicure here with two coworkers and we enjoyed some relaxation time together. My polish looked good but the overall pedicure experience was very underwhelming. I liked the scrub, lotion, and hot towels, but the massage wasn't very long. The workers didn't seem too interested in what they were doing. (Note: My coworker tried to make appointments for us at 11:00. They said they couldn't get us in until noon, which was totally fine. When we came at noon and there were ZERO customers...) Another customer came in while we were wrapping up our pedicures and I assume she was a regular: she had one person working on her feet and getting a manicure at the same time making friendly conversation with the two workers; they were much more friendly and attentive to her. Overall not a horrible experience, but it also wasn't great enough for me to go back. read more

Luxury Nails is great. I read the reviews on Yelp first before calling. They were able to fit me right in on short notice. I just recently discovered Shellac nail polish on a trip to Palm Springs a couple weeks ago, and I'm basically a klutz when it comes to manicures. Shellac is def the way to go for me. (If you don't know about Shellac nails, look into them if you are like me and chipping or smudging is what usually happens; doesn't happen with Shellac.) So anyway, my experience with Luxury Nails was very good. About 45 - 60 minutes for the manicure, and a great price at $25, which includes the previous Shellac mani removal. The people are very nice. Kim was my manicurist. She shaped my nails exactly how I like, gave me a nice hand and forearm scrub and massage, and then the manicure. Lovely! (And now I have a place to get Seahawk nails done next fall. :) Ten thumbs up! Several months later... And still 10 thumbs up! I continue to have excellent service and stellar manicures. Treated myself to a pedicure this summer, too, and it was lovely. And the longer I am a customer, the better I get to know everyone there, and they are super nice people. I wanted to address one thing that I read in an older review, which said that Luxury Nails doesn't clean their instruments. This is inaccurate. They have at least two autoclaves that are in frequent use. The pedicure baths are cleaned between each customer. The nail brushes soak in the antiseptic stuff (don't know the name of the solution; same as what hairdressers use for their combs and such). I don't have any qualms about the salon's cleanliness and I go every two weeks. You can't go wrong choosing Luxury Nails for your manis and pedis. read more

I came here because the place that I usually go to had too many people waiting. Good thing. This place does FANTASTIC work. I think this is the best-looking manicure I've ever had. The shellac isn't goopy at the edges and they didn't question me when I said I wanted the nails cut all the way down. There are tons of choices for shellac colors. Tons. They don't charge extra for taking off the old shellac. The sugar scrub smelled amazing and really softened my gross hands up. Shellac manicure? $25. Just polish? $15. This is my new spot. read more

I've died and gone to nails heaven. I've been to high end salons & I get the same service here for half the cost. I stumbled onto this gold mine when I was getting my teeth clean next door (Bright Now Dental) 3-4 years ago. I've been a loyal customer since after trying about 10 nail shops within 5 mile radius. The owner really goes above & beyond. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how meticulous they are with their cuticle cutting for my manicures. That's what sold me & I don't think I can use the word 'love' enough. They recently have this new polish for natural nail manicures call Shellac. Very few salon does it, but your polish stays on for 2 weeks! It's a $25 manicure (regularly $12), but worth every penny. Khoi, the owner of the place, does a beautiful job with nails. As the first reviewer noted, he is meticulous with his work - cuticles are properly prepped and nails are shaped perfectly. His shellac polish job is always done well and lasts for 2+ weeks (I can be hard on my nails). I strongly recommend going here for manicures and shellac work. If you get a manicure, note that he uses a sugar scrub vs. lotion like most places. I personally prefer the latter so I ask him to use lotion and he kindly obliges. Pricing is fair and he has a loyal clientele. He does accept walk-ins but because of his loyal clientele, I would recommend calling first to verify they have time. read more

I took my mom here for a girl date on Saturday, 5/19/2012; she got a fill and I got a shellac manicure. The place is very cute and clean. I like the owner, he was fun to talk to. His partner was a hoot as well. My manicurist was meh. I was so excited for the hand/arm massage as part of the deal and was very, very, very disappointed when she used a scrub instead. She was rough and it wasn't really pleasant up my arms.... Yeah, the arm part didn't make any sense. I am super bummed; I spent $50 including a healthy tip for both of our services and my mom has already had to pay to get her fill fixed at another place (on Sunday, the following day), and my shellac already chipped/peeled on two nails (by Wed 5/23) - I paid to have them repaired at another place. Shellac lasts a while, or at least is supposed to. 3 days is ridiculous, I shouldn't have to factor in more money for an already expensive mani for repairs. My regular nail place lasts about 3 weeks, and is cheaper to start. I wasted good money on this place, just to turn around and pay someone else, my mom too. Starting here made this months mani the most expensive in history. Awesome. I would not go back, nor would I recommend to a friend. Just got a pedicure from "T" five minutes ago. I've been to other places that are ROUGH when digging into the sides of my big toes but she did a better job than others with no pain and continuously asked me if everything was okay. Didn't get any color or anything so I can't comment on that, but the pedicure ended with hands down the best foot/leg massage I've ever had without paying extra. I'll definitely be back!
