This is an update to my last review. Soleil has recently gone through an ownership change. Let me assure you that your favorite nail care specialists are still there doing an excellent job. I've been using their services for over 5 years and have not one complaint. I'm sure there have been a few people who have had a concern but from what I've observed, the ladies at Soleil do their best to correct the problem, in a friendly and professional manner, whether caused by them or the customers! They do several kinds of pedicures and Nancy is the pedicure specialist. She is terrific!! She's very professional yet friendly. She knows her job well and has never done anything to cause discomfort while doing her job. They have lovely massage chairs for a relaxing experience while getting your pedicure!! So if you've heard that the previous owners are no longer there, have no fear. Your favorite salon specialists are still there doing a wonderful job. Here is what you need to know about this nail salon: 1) ANC dip powder nails are done here and hardly any other salon does them so the business is busy :( Price will be $35-$40 plus tip. This is the only reason I come to this salon. 1) Ask for Timmy; he is a nail genius and GENTLE and does not RUSH, unlike the ladies. 2) Don't bother making an appointment. They will not refuse service from anyone unless they are closing because they don't want to lose the $$ so if there are walk-ins that come in right before your appointment you will WAIT. Don't call ahead and ask if they are busy; they will always say NO just to get you in there hoping you will wait. 3) The salon, brushes and implements are filthy. Cleanliness is not a priority here. There is dust, glue, product, polish all over everything. 4) Try to go on slow days (Monday and Tuesday) or you will be rushed and potentially disappointed. 5) Don't expect to feel welcome with a lot of chit chat and smiles and bonding; it's a cultural thing so don't take it personally. Try not to feel left out when the employees are all speaking in their own language and leaving you clueless. read more

Not happy with my nails :/ First time going and shellac application was very lumpy. Some nails longer than others and shapes are different. I hate complaining at the salon to not embarrass anyone. They (I would hope) would want to fix it o But who has time for that.... just won't be going back. It was way out of the way anyway. My friend just wanted to try the dipping powder nails. I've been to this salon several times and it had always been satisfactory. However, the last time before today, the shellac just peeled off. I went in to have it repaired and they actually were nice enough to offer that for free but I kid you not, it peeled off again that night. And I'm not being deliberately rough on my nails so it was annoying. I figure things happen. Today was what finally indicated to me that I'm wasting time and money there. I was handed to someone who very clearly is either brand new at this or really bad at it. It took him over an hour to get through half of the service- and he was still doing a terrible job. My nails were uneven, clumpy, fat and shaped terribly. I usually don't say much and just relax but this was torturous- just watching someone very very very slowly do the worst job ever. I HAD to bring attention to the way things were going and that's so awkward. I got out of there after close to two hours, way more irritated than I was when I walked in. I had considered bailing halfway through, pay them and finish it up somewhere else or on my own. I can't bring myself to go back, as convenient as the location is to me. I will say that Anna does a great job with shaping and she is quick. That said, I read a different review that said they talk about their clientele and I had that feeling with them before. I wasn't told about the additional $10 charge for the design until I went to pay and when I showed her a picture of argyle she said she could do it and it did not look like argyle. I paid for the additional 15 minutes of massage and I don't really consider light touch with some oil a massage. They were nice enough and I suppose if you're looking for an expensive foot bath with a plain color, this is the place for you. Don't be fooled by their new name: My Nail Spa. Also, the initial time I went, they dropped a tool onto the floor and continued to use it. Also, they 100% do not clean up/sanitize between customers. Sanitary, definitely a zero star. But, wasn't going to write this review since I assumed a refund would have been provided. (I've had one horrible experience at another salon which they were so accommodating and nice and they offered a full refund along with a re-do manicure, which I turned down) Anyways...this place, BEWARE: they do not offer refunds even if a Shellac manicure lasts a measly five days. Instead, the manager will gaslight you into saying a) Shellac manicure makes the nail weak and b) since it's almost been a week, Shellac may peel off and c) most likely come off because I was doing strenuous activities.... No, a) Shellac has always lasted 3+ weeks and nails only become weak if the technique is done wrong, which they did as there were lots of air bubbles and the tips were much thicker than the nail bed b) I've had regular manicures last over a week, how can a Shellac not last even more than regular polish and c) unless you count visiting family as "strenuous activities," I didn't do anything crazy. They only fixed the two nails, which is my only option because they DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS. I personally would much rather have gone with that option and walk away with broken/peeling nails but nope, they are not customer service oriented. They get defensive when you try to explain all the valid points of Shellac + but not without comment on how natural nails breaking is not their fault....Sorry ladies, but you do improper and uneven technique, natural nails will break. I've never had my natural nails break in all the years I've had a Shellac manicure and even when done for "wilder" vacations. Gave only one star because Susan was at least apologetic and not huffy puffy like the other lady. The other lady, who I assume was the manager, says they do not do refunds and later ignored me after I made all my valid points how my Shellac should have lasted multiple weeks. If it wasn't for Susan, I would give zero stars. read more

I should start off by saying that I'm not one to take the time to write a Yelp review, but this place deserves the effort. I absolutely LOVE this nail salon! I've tried many different nail salons in the Kent area and was loyal to one salon until I had a shellac manicure done here. I will never give my business to any other salon again. Not only are the staff friendly, warm, and inviting - they remember you and how you like your manicure! I'm quite picky about how I like my nails shaped, but I know rest assured that it will be done right and just the way I like it if I'm in one of their chairs. Timmy (the manager) is amazing! Both I, my sister, and my mother (yes we're all loyal customers) can be pretty indecisive when it comes to picking a polish color or design, but Timmy not only helps us figure out what we want he suggests things not even we would have thought of. It eases my mind knowing if I have an idea that they know wouldn't look good they are honest and suggest something else. Tina (the owner) is equally as talented and absolutely hilarious! For you girls who see those amazing manicures on Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr and have tried with no avail to bring a photo into a salon only to leave looking like your 3 year old brother did the work... I've come here many many times and I'm always there for two plus hours for a simple pedicure and SNS on my nails. I always give them another chance because sometimes it's more convenient for me. But this was the last time I will ever go there. My girlfriend and I went in at 4pm for 2 pedis and 2 SNS. My friend was finished in about a hour and a half but since I had to leave by 630 I was unable to get my nails done in the time frame of two hours. My toes could not be painted and they had drilled the color off a few of my nails along with breaking two of them. Disappointed with the service they did (not) do for me, I still had to pay for the services and the woman was extremely rude about it. I was humiliated with the way my nails looked walking out of that place with the condition my nails were in, I wanted to cry. Especially because I was getting them done for a special occasion. I had my feet in cold water for a half of a hour before someone finally decided to start on my toes. All a while other women who came in after me were being helped before me. I highly highly recommend that no one ever go to this place. They are not worth the money, my nails always fall off a few days later and they are not friendly whatsoever. If you go there, plan on being there for multiple hours and end up talking to a wall. I would recommend going to H V Nails in Burien. I've been going there for at least seven years but sometimes I make the mistake of going somewhere else because of the distance but I know now that it's worth it!!! Manicurists are becoming more and more lazy and disrespectful. Hai at HV Nails treat you with the most respect and like family. I'm always in love with my nails when I leave. They have one of the best selections for their spa herbal pedicures but overall this place is just "okay". You will have a great experience if you are a regular and are in good graces with the top experienced technicians. If you aren't, they will pawn you off to less experienced techs who don't do a good job, rush and have trouble understanding what you want (design, nail length/shape). I don't see myself coming back at all. When I first started getting ANC here it was amazing! They would soak my nails and include a cuticle trim with the ANC color change. This was my first time at this salon and it was great! Just had a regular pedicure with my boyfriend and the massage was amazing! We are both ticklish people but our massages were more soothing than ticklish which is a huge plus. The atmosphere was clean and relaxing. The pedicure room is calming and peaceful with soothing music. Parking was also easy to find. A few negatives is their nail polish selection and that they use Styrofoam cups but other than that we will certainly come back. Great customer service overall read more

Took almost two hours to get my mani-pedi done even with an appointment. Very slow mediocre service. I wanted the OPI Bubble Bath pink or anything similar. This is a very common color. Five out of five colors I had picked were missing or had run out. It got really ridiculous as I would pick another color and they wouldn't have it. I finally settled on a color I didn't love. The nail tech left gel nail polish on my fingers and around it. She used her own finger nail to remove excess nail polish around my nails. This technique isn't professional and inefficient. I had this place bookmarked because of the reviews and I just happened to be in the area today for a massage elsewhere and decided to finally go. Got the $30 pedicure and $7 eyebrow. Everyone was nice, the place looked great and a wonderful price for eyebrow. Initially I said I just wanted a cleanup but after double checking in the mirror I did say I like my eyebrows thin with a high arch. Checking them out in the end, they were definitely thin, thinner than I like but no real high arch so I was a bit disappointed. And this came after the mediocre pedicure. I got there about 5:35pm today, Tuesday. I paid the extra $10 for the level 2 pedicure to include a 15 minute massage and paraffin. First she was moving way to fast with the cuticle cutter and cut my left big toe. That bled, so I had to put some Trader Joe's salve on it that I had in my purse. The whole thing felt rushed. Super fast foot cleaning. She had asked me to hold up my leg, told her I couldn't, I'm 7 months pregnant. Never had a pedicure person not be able to hold your leg while they scrubbed your foot. She brushed across the top of my foot with the nail brush cleaner so that was painful, she used something to scrub the bottom of my feet for a few seconds, like the flat wide stick, not a pumice stone, she slapped on the sugar scrub, rubbed that on, then slapped on some lotion, rubbed that in, then grabbed the paraffin and put my feet in that after rubbing oil on my feet and lower legs, rubbed in the oil, then removed the paraffin (on for about 3min) got a hot towel that was way too hot that burned me, did 20 seconds of hot stones (that was not included in the level 2 pedicure, just level 3 so okay...)then sprayed my toes with the alcohol that burned cause she nipped me earlier and it was bleeding. The shaping and polish look great though. Got home, and the bottom of my feet don't even look like they were touched. So much for a foot scrub and paraffin. Not to mention there was never a 15 min massage! Total service was $37, tipped $5 cash and didn't even want to do that cause I'll need to use my own pumice stone on the bottom of my feet during my next shower and as I only treat myself to pedicure's once a month while I'm pregnant and can't reach my own toes, so I'm going to have to wait another 30 days for hopefully a relaxing pedicure with no pain. My big toe still stings! read more

She always works wonders. I enjoy my dipped nails by mostly all their nail techs Tina, Timmy and Amy. I had a really bad experience at Soleil. I went on my birthday to get an ANC french manicure. My tech rushed me to choose colors. Once she stared my manicure, she was very rough. When we got to the dipping powder she began to tell me that she did not like my colors of choice and that usually customers get different shades. I asked if she could change and she very rudely replied "too late". Upon finishing my nails, I looked at them and they were uneven, lumpy, with blurry/unclear lines. I pointed out some of them and she reploed "Oh yeah, I messed up but that happens with red, choose white next time". I left very unhappy, and humiliated. Would not recommend coming here. read more

I have been going to this place for the past year and half and really liked the place especially when all the girls spoke English and never talked in Vietnamese to each other that makes the customers feel like they are talking about them. Also they were fast and did a good job. However lately the have hired few new employee's, and I personally have had bad experiences last two times , this review is only about yesterday . I arrived there around 3pm (THURDAY wanted to make sure to go on a day that they were not too busy). They had only one customer who was getting a pedicure and ANC, her nails were already in foil, I too Wanted to get an ANC, no pedicure, which it usually takes 1/2 an hour or a little longer, but the technician who started to do my nails took her sweet time I am not exaggerating, a 1/2 job took 1 hour and 40 minutes, while doing my nails she checked her phone, kept talking to another co-worker in Vietnamese got up and moved around several times didn't even wrap the foil correctly on my nails so it took longer for removal of the ANC , she tried to make the decision for the color also told me I shouldn't get Ombre coloring, told me it costs $10.00 more, like it was her place to tell me what I can spend !! (in reality she probably didn't know how to do it), she filed the nail on one figure and missed another I tried to tell her, but she made me feel like I don't know anything, finally I was so tired and wanted to go home that I told her I don't want the hand massage. Also I noticed she did not even use sanitized tools for my manicure, because when I asked her to do a manicure, she took her tools out of a clean plastic bag, (I thought oh good she uses clean tools) but then after doing my nails she put it back in the same bag and place it in her drawer, after she was done I decided to talked about my experience to one of the nail technicians who is usually there (Tahra) but she made up some excuses and told me" this is the way they work over here so I should not complain". when I was ready to pay with my debit card, she processed my card and without asking me she gave herself an almost 40% TIP, I am glad I looked at my receipt, made sure they voided that transaction, left her a $2.00 tip which she didn't even deserve that..... for the money they charge they should make sure of a perfect customer service every single time a customer comes inside not just once in a while. I have spent 100's of dollars there before because I thought they did a good job. But the way they treated me yesterday by being rude and thinking, they could fool me with a lousy and incomplete job especially not using sanitized tools and take my money also give yourself a hefty tip just like that!! Let's think twice... I don't think so! I will not be going there again. And I suggest for you not to go there either. read more

They were super helful and performed an absolutely amazing spa pedicure and manicure - my feet and hands thank them.
