i bought a Groupon and i called to reschedule my appt the same day as soon as they opened at 10am . She rescheduled for me so i could come on a Friday since this is my first time getting lashes . Then she calls me back 3 hours later and tells me i owe 30$ for not canceling within 24 hours. i said ok then i will jsut come today and she say i already filled your spot. Went to Kaya Beauty Spa with a Groupon for eyelash extensions. The facility is clean and staff is friendly. I would have liked a bolster or pillow for my knees and a blanket for more comfort while laying on table. I also would have enjoyed some calming music instead of hearing the clock ticking. The eyelash primer stung and made my eyes water. When I told the clinician she blew a fan on them, but it continued to mildly sting. She commented that my eyes were watering a lot and she had difficulty applying lashes in the corners. I did not have issues with this the one other time I had extensions applied. Before purchasing my Groupon I called Kaya to recommend me a facial, we agreed on the Glow Facial with extractions and she would charge my Groupon Bucks for the extractions. I scheduled my appointment with confidence. I showed up to my appointment and some lady at the front desk did not acknowledge my presence until I introduced myself. My facial consisted with a long and hard face massage. When I asked Kaya what she was applying she would be short and just say, "product". I ask which type? And she wouldn't answer me and kept saying the same thing. She also didn't cover my eyes with pads so the "products" being used kept getting in my eyes. The extractions were rough and painful, and she did not get all of them out (as seen on the pictures). The "Vampire Mask" got inside my eye and nose, I asked her for a q-tip to wipe my eye and nose and she told me "it will dry up don't worry about it", then she left the room (lights were on the entire time). I was left 20 minutes alone, with the other "esthetician" constantly walking in and out without knocking to use the sink and other stuff inside the cold room I was in. You can also hear everything there and I kept hearing that same esthetician cursing with someone on the phone or a client there. 20 minutes later, Kaya walked in and pulled the mask off my face way too rough and used her NAILS to scrub the residue off MY FACE!! And also used her nails to scrub off the peel on my fresh extractions!! This was after she kept scheduling people on her phone (since I can hear everything there) so she touched other things and didn't wash her hands before touching my face! She didn't even use gloves! How disgusting and unprofessional! This is the worst part, she told me that the type of facial wasn't the Glow Facial we agreed on. She was trying to charge me for a different facial and did not acknowledge using my Groupon Bucks as we agreed which was $30 extra for the extractions. She got angry and said, "Well I don't know how you're going to pay for this girl but you have to pay." So I ended up paying $30 with my credit card. She was ranting about Groupon not paying her for their service etc which is confusing because why are you continuing using Groupon if they don't pay you? The place needs work, Kaya is unprofessional, uses her own nails and no gloves, has garbage bags with hair wax visible in plane sight, and she scams her customers. I will NEVER come back and would prefer to spend extra money elsewhere where they are clean and professional on top of them being knowledgeable with their own products. read more

Dee sent me away after I made an appt and bought a Groupon. She had no other customers... she said because it was a Monday... no where on the Groupon says I couldn't book the appt on Monday. Again no where on the Groupon says that nor does Vagaro when booking the appt (customers see attached) regardless they shouldn't let you book an appt and waste your time if that's their policy. Bad service bad communication just bad!! Don't wast your time . I drove all the way from seattle to Kent to try this place out and she sent me away ... oh btw the snow hasn't completely melted Then she calls me AFTER I left the parking lot and an hour AFTER my scheduled appt Rude! No communication between spa and their clients if something is wrong with booking. I personally did not have a pleasant experience especially around the Groupon 3 Brazilian package and the experience checking out after my services. Hmm.. Something about some of the these places that post promos on Groupon. Never. Again. Edit: I understand my Groupon has expired before redeeming the 3rd service. Understood. When I came in yesterday the receptionist asked if SHE called to tell me about coming back within 5-6 weeks from my October visit. Well the answer is NO, she did not call nor did she decline my appointment confirmed via Vagaro, where I noted that this is my 3rd of my Groupon package. Maybe next time don't accept appointments knowing there will be an issue? Maybe call clients who may potentially continue doing business with you and let them know before wasting their time. My first Groupon redemption was fine, but the second time the same receptionist was pushing back as if I couldn't redeem the 2nd of my package, saying I've previously been there before and couldn't redeem another Groupon. Unprofessional. But that's my opinion. read more

After reading their reviews, I wanted to try out their HydraFacial and support a BIPOC salon. Booking online is easy (the web browser is easier to navigate than on mobile) and they make sure to have text/email confirmations and reminders so that you have ample notice of your appointment. As for the appointment itself, I want to give some grace to the esthetician who was working while sick. She did offer to have another esthetician work with me if I wasn't comfortable with her coughing, but it would have been nice to know before she was already providing the facial a couple minutes in. There was barely any talking during the HydraFacial so I didn't know what to expect when changing from the HydraFacial to a painful exfoliator without notice. Some parts were handled with care and most parts felt rushed. Notably, the esthetician forgot to exfoliate/use the scrubber on the other half of my nose and left more than a quarter of the gel mask on my skin (still picking some of the residue off now). The receptionist area is nice but the esthetician room felt like a medical center. Glaring white overhead lights lined aside the white corkboard-looking panels, white walls, a couple of generic paintings. It didn't feel like a welcoming space and the lack of care during the session didn't help either. I also don't think the full hour was provided either? This was a really sad experience and I definitely wanted to write of the positives, but there aren't many. The Punjabi music is nice, the appointment system is accessible, and they seemed willing to provide discounts for their services. Maybe the experience would've been better with the owner or another esthetician. I don't think I'll be going here again. read more

Do NOT get a brazilian or armpit wax here. Seriously DO NOT!!! They must have some system where if you rate them well they will give a discount. I cannot believe anyone would rate this place 5 stars. They RIP the hair from your skin at lightning speed. I thought this might be a good thing at first but NO, it's awful!! They have you out of there within 15 minutes with no care for your wellbeing at ALL. Their "technique" (if you can even call it that) is absolutely horrid and will leave you with ingrown hairs. Because of them I dealt with the most awful ingrown hairs on my pubic region I've ever experienced. AND to top it all off, I ended up with multiple abscesses in one of my armpits that stemmed from ingrown hairs, and they had to be surgically drained by a doctor. This was extremely traumatic. They had to slice open my armpit and drained out over 15 ccs of pus! Due to this awful place's horrible technique of ripping out your hair at lightning speed. You get what you pay for with this place. Horrible service. I would rate it negative stars if I could. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Literally a gem in Kent!!! I got my hair cut here for the first time, and absolutely love. Urmila is the sweetest lady who cuts hair there. She's fast, efficient, but KNOWS her stuff. She's been cutting hair for 22 years and for the price - it's a great deal. I've been going to high end places and paying ridiculous amounts of money just for a haircut, and still unsatisfied. But I spent less than 50 for a haircut, with blow dry and shampoo, and including tip. I called in the same day, for an appt. and she was able to squeeze me in. I don't have a "before" pic unfortunately, because I wasn't planning on doing a review. But she was just that good! I showed her a pic of what I wanted and she glanced at it barely, and gave the results I wanted. She sat me down and I told her exactly what I liked and how I parted my hair. She took me over to wash and condition which took about 5 or so minutes. Then, proceeded to cut my hair. All in all the service took about 30 minutes if not less. She did this all while with another client, and still took the time to not just rush through, but made sure it looked nice and even. During the Covid-19 she asks for you to wear mask coming in, and there is no waiting in the salon. Rather you arrive sign in on the paper outside, and she comes to get you from you car. All in all great experience for the price. Plus, it's always nice supporting smaller, locally owned businesses. read more

I happened to find this spot randomly when I was looking for a vagacial in the area, I stopped by the salon in person so I could get more details on the process. I decided to come the week after when I found an open slot for the 2 services I wanted. Vagacial and Skin Brightening! My first time ever doing it. The process was comfortable and I didn't know what to expect but Dee talked me through it. We had a brief chat about the services and what I should expect, as well as the benefits of the treatments. The application and process of the services took about an hour long. I noticed results immediately, skin was super hydrated and I was so happy with the tone and the results! I'm definitely a regular now and coming back for these services and excited to try more from their salon. Dee was so kind and very professional throughout the service. I felt comfortable and she was very helpful in answering the questions, she's also very knowledgeable and has a ton of experience! So I'm very happy to have come and tried this here! Urmila did a great job on a partial foil for a very reasonable $65, normally $55-$60, but I have very thick hair.. she also gave me an incredible head massage, and styled my hair. Not only does she do an incredible job she does it in a very timely manner 1.5-2 hours for a cut and partial foil.. then she recommended me to get my eyebrows threaded, and If you've never tried it I suggest you do so.. amazing experience! Both ladies are so nice, I've only been there 3 times and not only is she my stylist, she is a friend I always leave laughing and with a big smile on my face.. it's like a mini vacation. I've lived in this area for over 50 years and this is the best salon I have ever found. What a treasure!
