First of all she is so sweet and kind. I tend to find going to stylists awkward at times and pressured to try to keep conversation going, not with Misty she is such a fun lady and it was easy to chat with her and have fun conversation. Second she is very knowledgeable and listens to your wants and will give you an honest opinion of what would look best and what kind of up keep would be required which is really great. I was looking for some simple balayage that didn't require a ton of maintenance and that is exactly what I got! Simply my experience: Went in because of the fantastic reviews. But I was pretty disappointed... The cut was great and I'm super satisfied with it. The color job was no where near what I was asking. I was refunded $115 out of my $210 + $40 tip. I sent in photos of my already lightened hair and some photos of my goal hair. Was recommended by Misty to do full foil rather than bleach + tone I originally booked, which is a little more expensive but less damaging. I am not a stylist so I figured she was doing what she could to get to my desired look with least amount of damage so I went with it. At the end, my hair was lightened at the crown of my head but my ends were still dark blonde and my roots untouched. I am fairly certain no bleach touched my ends. No one could tell I had gotten anything done to my hair. I sat on it for a day and texted her asking for a correction, I did spend $250, to be fair. She said yes for 8 days later, totally fine, and said she wouldn't charge. The day before correction she told me she would have to charge another $25. She also said she couldn't do the full service without damaging my hair. I was disappointed that this was now going to cost me $275 after a partial correction so I opted out and argued my case for a refund, which at the end she finally allowed for a 47% refund. This is after she told me via text that she wasn't going to "do my hair for free over and over". Made me uncomfortable to say the least. Personally wouldn't recommend. She seems like a fun person, I liked her personality when I met her and her product recommendations, but just was disappointed with the service and the difficulty to make it right. I've been looking for a new salon closer to home and after reading tons of reviews I scheduled with Misty! I'm 7 months pregnant and have been waiting to hit my 3rd trimester to get a full foil and cut. I was feeling real frumpy and pregnant by this time! After scheduling online Misty text me the next day asking me what I was looking for specifically asked for pics of what I wanted and what my hair currently looked like I was highly impressed from them on! My appointment was today and oh my goodness she literally gave me the best foil of my life! This review is specifically for Ashley Brizzi. I have been seeing Ashley for many years now and her skillfulness in doing hair never fails me. There is no stylist that I trust more than this girl. I've had my horrible share of experiences where I tell the stylist what I want and get something completely different. Ashley will not steer you wrong. Rain & Co is located relatively close to Kent Station. Although there is no parking lot for it, there is a good amount of street parking that you can find around the block. It's a very clean and modern looking salon and you will feel more than comfortable upon arriving. You can book your appointments easily online and find all the prices online as well. Easy and convenient! I came to Ashley in the Summer when I wanted to cut off all my long hair. I have always had long hair and I just wanted a change, albeit that I was extremely nervous. Ashley was very gentle with my hair and made sure I was comfortable as she cut off each inch. We even got to a point where she started cutting in 1/2 inch increments. She was so patient with me as I nervously adventured in the land of short hair. The final result was seen on the ground; 14 glorious inches of hair and a brand new hairstyle on my head. I was so shocked (I mean, it had been 10 years since I had had short hair) but I was really loving the change and the light feeling on my head. Ashley made this new transition easy and painless for me. Ashley is also wonderful at coloring hair and styling hair as well. I came in on my birthday to get my hair styled up for dinner. I knew I wanted it to look nice, but I didn't know how I wanted my hair to look. Should I go with a nice under-curl look, or go for some bouncy curls/waves? Ashley was able to show me both looks on either side of my head so that I could compare (which was extremely helpful!). She washed my hair (and gave a great little head massage while she was at it), and got right into styling. The result: beautiful, wavy curls that prepared me for my night out! She is honestly the type of person who wants to do what YOU want. She will never do anything outside of what you want and gives great advice and recommendations as well. She listens extremely carefully and makes sure to check in with you about how things are looking. You should never be afraid to speak your mind with her because she is so incredibly open and understanding. No matter how long your appointment is, you will enjoy conversing with her. There is never a dull moment and I feel like I am constantly laughing with her. She's so personable and at the end of the appointment, you'll feel like you just made a new best friend. Trust and communication are the two most important things you need to have with your stylist and I can say that without a doubt, Ashley will securely give you both! read more

This review is for Michelle Malacon. Michelle has been doing my hair for the last 6 years and she is absolutely amazing! I have very dark hair and I always have an itch to change it up after a few months. I go from blonde to brown, dark brown, back to blonde all in a matter of a year, which can be very damaging for your hair, but Michelle knows exactly what she's doing and ensures she takes the best care of my hair with the least amount of damage as possible. I know that I can't expect to go from dark brown to blonde over night and she explains every step to me. Another think that I love about Michelle is that if she comes across a new product that she believes will be even better for my hair, she makes the suggestion and I trust her 100% and go with it. She is never wrong! She is also very honest in her opinions. I've wanted to have the cool looking pink colors or purples, but my hair is just too dark. If she thinks it will be a waste of money, she will tell you. But if it's what you want, she will do it, but she will always be upfront with you. I don't trust anyone else with coloring, cutting, or styling my hair. She's done my bachelorette party hair, wedding hair, and random occasions as well. All I do is let her know what look I'm going for and she just knows what style will look best for that occasion, even if it's just casual. Once you meet her, you will love her! So I have heard of this place and live super close, so I was really excited to check out their website and see what they have to offer. Literally all I wanted is a trim of some dead ends, I would have just walked in but I was afraid with their popularity they would be completely booked, so I wanted to save time and do it online. Twice I have tried to book, with two different stylists, and I was denied. Literally told, "I don't do this service." Um, you can't trim dead ends? Like a 5 minute service in reality? If I wasn't so bothered by it coming out uneven I would have done it myself! I have a feeling they are just afraid of doing ethnic hair, but I get it done elsewhere and they literally would have just been dealing with clean, pressed hair. Their loss, I will just get it done at my regular place and tell all of my friends to avoid. Very unprofessional. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! I don't usually leave reviews but people need to know about this place!! I moved to Renton, WA 4 years ago after having my hairdresser for 23 years. I have had my hair done at Element Salon & Spa, Gene Juarez, Brag Salon, and nobody has styled and highlighted my blonde hair even close to my former awesome hairdresser! I gave each place/person a fair chance but just couldn't understand why they couldn't color my hair right. Not only that they all changed an arm & a leg (nothing under $190.00) which is down right ridiculous. When I made my appointment with Misty, I was praying she was going to "understand what I needed"! Not only did she understand, she fixed my hair and got it done the way I wanted it! She IS AWESOME!! I would sometimes fly back to CA just to have my hair done and now after 4 years I finally found my hairdresser!! I felt like a million bucks when I left! I have been seeing Misty for quite some time. She does a fantastic job with her coloring, probably the best I've seen. She is a great listener and wants to please you when she cut and styles your hair so she asks lots of questions to clarify which I appreciate. The salon is nice and clean, Misty is always making sure things are just right. She is very professional which is great since she is the first person you see upon entering the salon. My only comment, which has nothing at all to do with Misty, is there is an extremely loud talking stylist a couple seats away that, when she is there is so distracting. Being new to the Kent area, locating a great stylist can be a terrifying endeavor, especially when you want to get your hair chopped off AND change your color! I saw multiple Yelpers recommending Misty at Rain & Co. I love how I was able to get in to see her right away--made my appointment on Saturday for the following Tuesday and I'm so glad I did! Misty was wonderful! She took the time to really listen to what I wanted done with my hair, and explained what she was doing throughout the whole transformation process. She also took the time to show me how to style my shorter cut, how to achieve those beach waves I've been wanting by using the flat iron. The toner she used on my hair to get it close to my natural brunette shade looks fabulous! Negative side is that it was hard to get someone on the phone when trying to book an appointment; however, that problem is now eliminated because I can reach Misty directly on her cell to book appointments, ask questions, etc. and she is good about responding! :) read more

A couple days later she texted me stating that she does not feel comfortable with up-dos, I appreciate her honesty. I've been super busy lately and forgot to reply. Oh my goodness!!! I went in to get my hair chopped off on 4/19 and Ashley is an absolute wizard with those scissors. I usually dread going to salons because I'm incredibly introverted and don't have much to talk about, but she made it fun. My mom and I have been seeing Chi at Rain & Co for over a year now and have been really happy with our hair! First and foremost, she's super fast. I have long hair, and a foil/cut is less than two hours. Additionally, she's always on time and will text/call to remind you of your appointment which I really appreciate. When my mom and I started seeing her, we had damaged, over-processed blonde hair. Chi is magic when it comes to coloring hair, and she has not only reversed the damage on both our hair, but improved our color. We both get a lot of compliments. She also does a great cut-I am so thrilled with my hair every time! This summer Chi did hair and make-up for my friend's wedding. She did such a good job with all our hair and make-up; she was on time, used super high quality make-up, and our hair looked great. She listened to what we wanted, and made sure the hair/make-up was bullet proof. It looked just as good at the end of the night as it did when we left the salon. Sad to have to give this place 1 star. I moved to Kent not too long ago and was looking for a new place to get my hair done. I work in SODO and my last stylist was in Laurelhurst and trekking up there became super inconvenient. My first appointment here was with Brittany and I had a great experience. At that time she mentioned she would no longer be at the salon because she was returning to school and recommended Felmil. So last week I used their online booking to schedule an appointment. First issue, no one answers the phone. Second issue, I requested the appointment more than a week ago and Felmil accepts my appointment 3 days before the available day I requested. I ask for the day off from work to make it to my 10am appointment. Third issue, Felmil cancels on me the day of my appointment! Says she "tried to text" me, because making an actual phone call is too much consideration. She had no backup plan, no one in her salon can see me today and on top of that has the nerve to try to reschedule for sometime next week. I have an event to attend in 2 days that I was hoping to show up for with my new style and color. So now I am stuck scrambling to find a place to get my hair done. The lack of professionalism and respect for a client's time is fucking appalling! I will never recommend this salon to anyone and unfortunately they give other Kent professionals a bad name. I guess I will have to stick with my Seattle stylist and continue to put 2-3 hundred dollars in his pocket every six weeks. read more

I've been coming to this salon for over a year now, so I thought I would update my review! My service here has consistently been great, and Alicia T. is my go to hair stylist. She's cut and colored my hair and cut my 8 year old daughter's hair, as well. She is always fun, friendly, attentive and amazing at her job. Our hair always looks and feels great. This salon might be pricier than some other options, but I don't even think of switching because it's worth it. WOW. I booked an appointment online with Misty for a full balayage and style about six days in advance. The night before, she texted me asking specifics about my hair and photos for what I was looking for, which I appreciated. My appointment was originally scheduled for 1 PM but she managed to move me up to noon, which was awesome! During the entire coloring process, Misty explained each step and what she was doing to my hair in detail. She made sure that I knew what was happening, and that I was comfortable.
