I have really thick hair, so the ends of my hair end up going flat/acting normal only until I damage my hair a lot and get split ends. LC Hair Salon is kind of tucked away, right near Chevrons gas station. Wow! Le Chi was so busy and I'm so glad that she was able to fit me in her schedule for a hair cut. While waiting, she has the tv on playing some music to entertain her customers. Not only do they do hair there. They can do your nails, too. I didn't see anyone actually getting them done, but there was a booth for that. But I wanted to get my hair cut, something short and I'm glad how it turned out. I will come back to see her once it's starts growing out some more or for a new look. read more

Decided to try out this little salon in my neighborhood for my first business cut in a long time. WHAT A MISTAKE. Not only will I never return, I will report them to the professional licensing board. I called at 1:40pm and asked f they could cut and color my greying hair. They said 2:00pm so I rushed over! They had me wait until 2:28pm. Ok. I showed a photo of what I wanted and the stylist asked a few questions. All good. She did a good job of cutting and styling my hair. But problems started at about 3:00 pm when the stylist started the hair color. I've had my hair colored dozens of times. I know how it is supposed to work. Everything went well as the stylist applied the color. About 20 minutes in, my hair was fully coated. But that's when things got weird. Instead of rinsing out my hair after about 20 minutes, I was left to wait as one customer after another came in and was serviced. After about 45 minutes, I was getting antsy. They calmed me over and over as I was told to keep waiting. "She will take care of you, just five more minutes." AFTER NINETY MINUTES, I simply got up and was determined to simply wash the caustic chemicals off my head. Suddenly they had time to wash my hair. My skin is irritated. My eyebrows look unnatural. I look patently ugly. I will never return. I will not refer any friends. I will not refer any enemies! -- Two hour update: my scalp started to really hurt. Thankfully I had the foresight to head over to Ulta to pick up some Tea Tree hair and scalp treatment. That seems to have calmed the pain. I'll post in a few days whether I need medical treatment. read more

Found this gem through other helpful "Yelpers"! Went as a walk-in. I was skeptical at first because for the short period of time I sat to wait, only men were coming in. I was thinking "oh no, I'm gonna have a guy cut!" But they were actually there for Chi's husband/barber/stylist. I was impressed by Chi's technique, i noted it was similar to how stylists cut at pricey salons, so I knew she'd be good. My hair is thick, and it was way overdue for a cut, so it was also frazzled & bushy; but Chi was fast & precise & very knowledgeable. She made good conversation/good to know your stylist! Very hard working people! They do get very busy but they are able to multi task and take care of you at the same time. I came in for a balayage. Although it not as blonde as I wanted I understand it due to the fact that I have so much previous box dye in my hair. Doing my balayage took about 4 hrs and they still cut and curl my hair after. They were very patient and even the owner help out in doing my hair! They also have affordable prices! I would definitely recommend coming here to get your hair done. LC salon is the go-to salon if you want an affordable and listening hair service. Loan and Chi really listen to your needs and work hard with you to give you exactly what you want. They are super patient and hardworking because my hair is freaking thick and long (photos) but they patiently applied bleach and tone products to my hair all completely even parts. I wanted to go blonde first time and the color i wanted was silver ashy blonde. Due to my hair history that I'd dyed so many different tone colors and a bit damaged from the last perm, many hair stylists would charge me pretty bad and they said my hair wouldn't handle the bleach. It would melt. So the best color I could get from bleach was probably shiny brown since hair couldn't make it. They were also worried if my hair and roots would lift evenly due to many colors applied. Kept my hopes high, I reached out to Chi who's the owner of this salon. I told her about my current hair condition and what I want for hair then asked for price quote or any advice. I sent her some photos of how my hair looked like that time (one of them was posted here). She gave me an average quote but I would have to stop by the salon for her to check my hair condition in person. I came the next day. I was so surprised that they were willing to test bleach and tone on a small part of my hair for like 1.5hr. During the test, they provided me a professional and patient service like i'm an official guest already. Unfortunately, silver ashy tone i wanted came out so dark (pic) Then i gave up my silver dream. We decided to bleach all head and tried their best to tone any yellow/orange out of my hair. Also the yellow tone will be washed out after a few weeks plus Chi and Loan recomended the purple hair treatment that they will bleach out my yellow tone and also pamper my hair from bleaching and toning so hopefully it will look less golden/yellow. All service was testing, bleaching, toning, haircut and hairstyle. Although it took soooo much time patiently waiting (7hrs) to test and officially work on, I appreciate Loan and Chi's service lots. They were so patient, nice, hospitable, listening and caring (they gave me some snacks and water seeing me wait for too looong). They acknowledged me of hair bleach type, how to take care as well as touch up. Sorry I'm writing so long but my main point is that if you want a new look with affordable price, reach out to Chi. Tell her what your desire is then she'll help you. I love that they reallly do listen and care for what you need and would do exactly for you until you're satisfied. For my hair, even though it is not platinum silver blonde as i wanted but i understand my hair condition and they did their best. I love how bright the bleach turned out. Really did not expect this much bright. Now I just need to wait until all yellow tones washed out then i'll be 120% happy. I am satisfied 100% at this moment though :) read more

My daughter and I came in for a haircut/shampoo and I also decided to get an eyebrow wax. My daughter has very short hair, so it was more of a trim/ back of the head cleanup. The hairdresser was nice but she didn't bother to blow dry (or use product) after my hair cut - I assume because the salon started to get busy. It definitely felt like a rush job but for the price, I figured that I was just "getting what I paid for." I ended up paying $58 (before tip) which seemed like too much and in retrospect I should've gone with my gut instinct and double checked the numbers... services: $18+$18 (two haircuts w/shampoo) + $8 eyebrow wax = $44...not $58. My mistake for not double checking. Moral of the story, check your charges and don't expect a blow dry. read more

My family and I used to like coming here, but it has gone downhill. Chi went cheap. She was beyond rude and unprofessional. If you have a child, the $15 kids cut does not apply to both girl and boy. She charges $20 if you are a girl. Doesn't show on her signage. Asked her to wash my child's hair, and ignored my request. Used a spray bottle instead. Throws the receipt at you at the end. I have been a regular customer since I moved here. But i will NOT come back here ever again. The first picture was the inspo picture and the last two are what i got. On top of sitting in her salon for 6 HOURS, she charged me $300!!! I called her 2 days prior to getting my hair done and even SENT HER THE PICTURE and she said it would be $150. She would put customers ahead of me when I should've been getting taken care of. They shampooed me after bleaching and toning and had me sitting in a chair for 45 minutes with a towel on my head only so she could have another satisfied customer. What about me? i was there for 2 hours more than i should've been. My highlights came out choppy yellow and brassy. On top of that, she asked if i wanted it styled and obviously i wanted to but she would've charged me $30 more. I chose to just have it blow-dried. I walked out with wet hair because she didn't finish blow drying. Not even close to what i wanted. I went back to ask for my money back and she refused to give me my money back. I tried out this salon a couple days ago after hearing good reviews about it, and sure enough I wasn't disappointed! I've been wanting a haircut for awhile as I've got thick hair and was just over it. I arrived right when the salon opened and there was already a short wait. Chi, the stylist who cut my hair, was so incredibly nice and sweet! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she delivered. She told me that if I wasn't happy with how my hair looked after styling it myself, I'm more than welcome to come back and she would fix it for me. So I hate writing anything but positive reviews, but I left the salon super bummed. This was my first time here and I showed the hair stylist a picture of what I wanted: a really pretty brown with some subtle hilights. The stylist told me the hair in the picture was a red brown and I told her I don't want red brown, as I don't like red in my hair. Well we went back and forth a couple times and finally I told her ok you're the pro, so we will go with what you say. Well, it not only turned out to have red in it, but my hair is now more red than what was in the photo I showed her. I can't even look at my hair in the mirror without wanting to cry. This color, along with a cut also ran me $170 before tip. The services I paid for were listed as $40 and up for color, $40 and up for foils, and $15 for cut. Now, I have long hair, so I expected it would be a bit more than $40 for each service, but didn't expect the total to be $75 more than what was listed (I don't even mind spending that much on my hair, but for that price, I expect to get exactly what I want done to it... or at least relatively close). I'm giving 2 stars because their technique was great and they were friendly. I'm just really unhappy having spent that much and leaving with hair that I not only didn't want, but hair that I don't like and now have to get redone :( read more

Yesterday, I had my hair cut and asked for a color shade that would allow me to grow out my grey. I did not get the cut I wanted and they sent me home with bright orange brassy hair. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I would get sick to my stomach. This morning, I called LC Hair Salon 2 minutes before they opened. I asked for help with my hair. Chi was completely gracious. She told me she was very busy in the morning, but that I could come in at 1:00. When I left the shop, she had fixed my hair color to a natural shade of blonde, and fixed my cut. I was looking for a hair stylist because my old hair stylist doesn't work anymore due to her health issue. I went to a hair salon near my house for a hair cut and color. The cut was chunky, no frame, and no style. The middle section of my hair still showed the previous lighter color (I went from lighter to darker). I am still sitting in the salon chair as we speak but can already tell you that I have never been more impressed by a salon in my whole 27 years in the seattle/Kent region. I had Arctic Fox in my hair and needed it removed. Other salons straight up laughed and told me they did not know how to remove the pink. A previous salon told me to go back home and just keep washing it out and the color "should fade In a month or two." Not helpful. As a last resort I came here and waited without an appointment. Not only was she super sweet but was also reassuring. She told me that the "fashion color" (that's what bright vibrant colors are called) was removable - no problem! She knew exactly what product to use to wash the color out and within 25min, my previous balayage was back with no pink! Like magic. This kind of expertise just comes with years of experience and professionalism. She even toned the balayage to perfect the blonde color. She also was slammed so kudos to her for running a one woman show. She told everyone in the store that all the other workers had fallen ill and she was the ONLY person running things. While sitting here she colored two people and cut four peoples hairs almost simultaneously. She even had to turn some customers away apologetically because she was spread so thin.
