1st time trying this spa, it is in a very nice neighborhood, gave me the feeling of being in Bellevue/Redmond. I enjoyed my facial! Everyone is nice and professional. A little overcrowded, both times before and after my appointment, there were 2 employees and 3 clients, all standing around by the small reception area. The only thing that was possibly below par was the music. Violin for the whole hour. I can't stand the sound of the violin, the super high-pitch sound that it produces, if I have a headache listening to a violin only makes it worst. Thankfully I was able to turn their music down in my room! Music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, the right music, soft, slow, quiet piano or guitar, even sound of gentle ocean wave! read more

If this review were to be based solely off of my masseuse Isabella, I would give 5 stars. But on two separate occasions this month, my husband and I each have had our appointment canceled with no notification. I also had these appointments verified upon scheduling them to double check that the dates and times were correct. read more

I have been seeing Isabella for the past 3 months. While she is fairly new to being a massage therapist, she has been doing a wonderful job for me after my accident. My biggest complaint is that she does not work every day so lead times for appointments can be far out. But they do a wonderful job of putting you on a wait list and calling when an appointment opens up. read more

I have been going to Pure Escape Spa for over a year plus and I love this spa. Rayanna is an amazing aesthetician. Her technique of waxing is so smooth and painless with great results. I have had her wax my eyebrows, lips and legs. Her Brazilians are painless and she makes me feel so comfortable. Rayanna has also given me a few facials the results were amazing. Needing a waxing same day, this place was available.. Once in waxing room, the meet n greet went well so i thought things would go ok, but as she started to wax it felt very rushed and i could tell by tone and actions she did not want to be there, or at least be waxing me.. Felt a little incomplete and woyld say things like well if you want " blank" its part of the package but i HAVE to offer it doesn't matter to me...umm ok...and she worked very fast and didnt seem to care about my comfort during an uncomfortable procedure. .just over all felt like an inconvenience to them.( her). I won't be going back.. Yes she knew her craft.. She was knowledgeable but not very good at the customer comfort/ service side of things. I've been wanting to try sugaring wax for some time now. Recently found out that the place I get my massage also has a esthetician. Rayanna did my sugaring on my lower legs. Great bedside manner! She was very thorough and OCD about the removal (which is great when getting hair out!). Rayanna also told me some things I can do at home to help prevent the ingrown hair on my legs. First impression...not a relaxing atmosphere Walk in to bright lights and soft rock music. Never ever have I been in a spa that played this kind of music. Not used to having to sit in a front desk entry as I wait for "spa" treatment. Having to hear front desk girl chatter etc. Never have I not even had the massage therapist introduce herself to me and then bring me back and soak my feet in a large stainless mixing bowl as she filled it with water from a plastic dollar store pitcher. When I had to speak of a concern over scents used on foot soak the response was less than kind or concerned and more about defensiveness. Not even an offer of a towel to dry my feet Sad that I have found more professionalism at places such as Massage Envy etc My plan of a nice "escape" was ended with no apologies. Just "hope you have a nice day elsewhere". Won't recommend to anyone I know. Very disappointing experience read more

I went here for a leg wax, and decided to try sugaring instead. It was very painful (more than wax at least) and halfway through the first leg, the girl asked if she could switch to wax because the sugar wasn't working well. The wax was still more painful than I am accustomed to. I don't know if it was lack of experience with the product, lack of experience in general, or just that "the room was too cold" as I was told, but I won't be going back here, and I won't be trying sugaring again any time soon. I now go to Lemon Drop instead, and it's the best wax I've ever had. SRSLY. read more

Very disappointed with how unorganized this spa is. Confirmed a couples massage, with my card on file for Valentines and two days after setting the appointment they called to say they would not be able to take us at the set time. With having a newborn and setting a sitter for that set time it is disheartening. Hopefully with losing a few days of being able to call other spas we will still be able to find one that has availability. They need to be quicker to do their due diligent to make sure they can accommodate their customers before confirming appointments and just how they would like 24 hrs of cancellation before an appt they should provide that to a customer after an appointment is set. read more

The therapists have all been there for many years which says a lot about the environment. I would go back and get a massage there in a heartbeat. Amazingly relaxing. Probably the most uncomfortable place to get a massage ever. Their employees are gossipy and half the time do not answer phones or pay attention to you when you walk in the door. Very rude people. Massage is not relaxing because you can hear staff talking the whole time. Would recommend you go somewhere else. read more

I wanted to love this place, I really did. My daughter and I each received the Serenity package as a Christmas gift . This included massage, facial, foot treatment, and lunch. The staff was for the most part friendly and pleasant. We began with the foot treatment which I have to say was the most pleasant treatment of the day. Or would have been except....the seating for the foot treatment is on a high platform with no kind of hand rail or step to get up to the chairs. The chairs themselves are very low and hard to get out of. Next for me came the facial, my daughter went off for her massage. The facial.. I just have to say I was unimpressed. Lying flat on my back for 50 minutes and having a bunch of goop put on and wiped off, some steam, some more goop, wiped off, more goop, and in between the goop applications hand and shoulder massage which I would say was " just okay" and a scalp massage that honestly seemed pointless. The last 10-15 minutes of the facial my lower back began to hurt from laying there flat and I had to have the girl help me up. After the fact realized I should have said something. The same gal that did my feet did my massage and again I would have to say " just ok". Which pains me because I really liked her a lot. I was then led back to the foot room for lunch. I contemplated the platform with the realization that there was no way I was getting up to the uncomfortable chairs by myself. Now, I am significantly overweight with knee and back issues but surely I am not the only one. My much younger healthier daughter was brought to me and she agreed the chairs were uncomfortable and the platform wasn't up to par. We stood there for a moment and looked at each other with the same " that was it?" and decided to just take the lunches ( from the Safeway deli) to go. We discussed briefly how we felt about the treatments. I was somewhat relieved to find out she pretty much had the same opinion as I did about the facial. I actually couldn't wait to get home and wash off my face because it felt like there were 3 layers of goop on it. We walked out to the reception area to ask for our lunches to go. We were then reminded that our gift certificates did NOT cover the tip, which I thought was a little ( okay a LOT) tacky. We tipped the LMPs and honestly after the fact realized that we hadn't tipped the esthetician. But to be perfectly honest other than the goop on my face that was about as memorable as the facial experience was. The most ironic thing about this experience is that we had mentioned to the LMPs that my daughters' husband is an LMP. Not that I would expect 'better service' because of this, but obviously we knew what it was we thought to expect. I dont know if they were just tired from the holidays or what was going on that day. In any case, the only reason I give them 3 stars instead of two is because of the foot treatment. otherwise it would have only been two. Wanted to be impressed, and wasn't. read more

I've been here a couple times since I moved from Georgetown to Kent. I came here for brazilian sugaring services and was extremely disappointed in the staff at this place. The ladies at the reception desk were rude and unless you've spent hundreds of dollars with them on spa treatments, will pretty much ignore you. The woman who does the waxing was standoffish, and seemed to miss a lot of areas time and time again. I went there 4 times and sadly just was not happy with the service. I will be driving 25 minutes back to my old place from now on. It's worth it. read more

First off, this review is LONG overdue. I have been going to this spa for years. Took a break for awhile, but now back often. Myself, my husband and both my teenage daughters love this place! We get great treatment, excellent massage and I recommend it to everyone who asks. I have had massage, laser hair removal and facials. They are rapidly increasing their services too with body sculpting and other services. I have honestly not had a bad experience yet. Have seen four different people for various services and they were all professional, excellent and great customer service. They even granted me half off a treatment when I prepaid and misunderstood what they meant about the sale. She didn't have to do it, but was really appreciative that she did and that alone indicates honesty, reliability and excellent business practice. She valued me as a client. I was gifted some spa treatments last April as an anniversary gift from my husband. I had a lovely body exfoliation and wrap done by their esthetician, Ariana, followed by a hot stone massage. Wrapping up my visit I got a chemical peel by Ariana as well. I have always had acne prone skin and have scarring from my teenage years, and had pretty much given up hope of having "good skin." After the peeling subsided I fell in love with this procedure!! I have been back twice for a couple of additional peels and the results are getting better with each visit. Today I had the Image Perfection Peel done and it was fabulous! Ariana was excellent as always, explaining every step of the process, how the peel worked and what to expect in terms of recovery. I brought my daughter in with me for some extractions and a facial and she loved it! I drive all the way from Spanaway to visit this spa and it is well worth it every time. Can not wait to see the results from this peel, and looking forward to more in the future! read more
