3C-4C curly hair beware, this is not the salon for you. I have 3C hair- tight corkscrews. I came in with a specific cut in mind, one that I've had multiple times and was my current cut that needed reshaping and trimming. I provided photos of myself to my stylist before hand stating where I wanted my length to end in its curl form at shoulder length; which was the exact picture I provided. What should have been a trim of 2-3 inches became 7 inches! I now have a pixie cut in the back and longish layers on the sides. Enough to put in a "ponytail". I don't have my ringlets anymore. There isn't enough hair to fully form! I am so disappointed and embarrassed by this cut, especially during the holidays. I've been wearing a baseball cap every day and avoiding pictures like the plague. The salon and everyone there is nice, but this isn't the place for us curly girls. Look elsewhere. read more

They told me and my friend that we could never come back because they thought we were taking pictures of the hairstylist. Even after we explained and showed that we were never taking pictures, my friend even told them to pull up the security camera footage, they refused. They just assumed something that was never true. I went to see Katie today to help color my hair back to normal after another salon completely fried my hair and botched the color. She is very attention to detail and even goes over and beyond to check and make sure what she will do to my hair won't damage it further or if it will take the color. Thank you so much for your response. I spoke with the receptionist and I did explain that it was due to a medical emergency and that I could be there in 20-30 minutes. She said she had to check with the stylist first and would call me back, which I understand. She called and that's when she shared they could not see me later and that I would be charged for full services. I am okay with paying a $50-$100 late cancellation fee, but the thought of having to pay over $300 seemed a bit much. I apologize for the inconvenience of missing my appointment. They messed up my appointment multiple times. I then called on Monday to cancel an appointment due to being concerned about their service. Then got a call the day of the appointment saying I missed my appointment when i cancelled. The front desk lady was nice the first phone call but then called me again. I thought it was a mistake, so I just told her someone already called, and she ruddily said no I did not. When I called her out for being rude, she tried saying I was being rude. Sharing my wonderful experience I had at Salon H getting a new 'refresher' look for my birthday. Jenna was my fabulous stylist/colorist extraordinaire. She is very professional, experienced and definitely patient (my hair was a mess - LOL). I was trying to go more natural for my age so she pulled the old color out and gave me a beautiful natural look for my hair. She took lots of time and patience to make sure I was totally happy. My hair is so much better now from her recommendations for styling products best for my hair, and I can't express how happy I am with it. I received so many compliments on my hair. I have been to Studio H twice for a haircut. I had an appointment for a hair color and became sick so I called the day before my appointment to cancel and reschedule. The woman on the phone told me that I had to call 24 hours in advance to cancel. I had called 20 hours in advance and no one had ever told me about the 24 hour rule. Had an appointment w/McKenzie. Probably one of the worst waxing jobs I've ever had. Only used the wax strips (no trimming, no plucking, etc.) No thought to aesthetics (no arch, no tapering at the ends of my brows, off line in relation to the bridge of my nose to the start of my brow, etc). Patches of hair still left - and this was AFTER I reminded her she missed a couple spots. I've never felt I should pay $$$ for a waxing service, just to go home and have to pluck the same areas myself - but this was so BEYOND that. Oh - and I left with pink wax still in spots on my chin and brow sides. I avoid mail salon 'estheticians' for a reason - I had no idea until now that there's worse out there. The stylists are good, but the vibe there is toxic. Denise, the salon owner is not friendly, she gives off a very "full of herself" vibe. She does not greet the guests, she talks about herself the entire time you're in her chair and when I've said hello to her, she acts like she's never done my hair before and hasn't a clue who I am and why would I bother her! The prices are OUTRAGEOUS, and its not fun having 2 or more different people working on your hair, meaning Denise has her assistant/s do the brunt of the work. Also the salon has a ton of different things for sale on their counter top and guest area, so strange, like why is this hair salon selling handmade jewelry and soaps etc, just weird. ZERO RESPECT FOR CLIENTS! I made an appointment three months ago and at the time of my appointment I was asked to show up 30 minutes later, then I had to wait another 15 minutes. You are supposed to pay a fee if you don't show up, what about when they show up late? Do we get a free hair cut? Then I changed my appointment as I could not wait anymore, I showed up on time the next week and the excuse this time was that the schedule was done with a Level 1 not a Level 3 stylist when I specifically requested a Level 3. This salon is very classy. So far everyone Ive come in contact with at this salon has been great. Anastasia and Taylin at the front desk both beauthiful, personable and very helpful. Ive been twice now both times Damaris was my stylist and she is wonderful. I am very picky and I love that she doesnt rush me, she listens. Im used to stylists who tend to cut too much off, but Damaris doesnt do that, she cuts and then has you look before she cuts more. In the end I got exactly the cut I wanted at the length I wanted it and i couldnt be happier. I highly recommend this place and especially this stylist. read more

Be aware before choosing Denise/studio H salon. I have been a client there for 6 months now. When I first called to make an appointment with Denise, I was asked many questions before an appointment would be issued, it almost felt like an interview (strange) Strike 1. Their social media person was photographing for about an hour during one of my sessions. I was assured that she always keeps clients out of the shots, but it just made me uneasy. Strike 2. I left with wet hair from a cut appointment to later find the cut was very uneven. That's okay but they made it seem like they were doing me a favor to get in for a correction. Strike 3. Today my daughter is sick and I was lucky enough to get worked into our doctors office tomorrow which won't let me keep the appointment with Denise. Calling at 21 hours notice, I was told that I would need to pay the full service fee (including supplies ...really?!) since it was under 24 hours and I could not be rebooked for 8 weeks. I asked if they would first attempt to call clients on their wait list and was told it didn't work that way. I expressed that I truly was sorry for the short notice and I felt badly and I asked them to try to make at least a phone call or two to attempt to fill the slot before charging the FULL SERVICE fee. Denise herself declined, "agreed" to cancel my appointment without charging me and said they would not rebook me. I think this was handled poorly...not so much as an expression of empathy for my daughters illness from another mother. Denise is a skilled colorist and you will probably like the quality of her color work and she always ran on time. But if you expect more than that from a salon, I hope this helps you make your decision for a salon home. read more

I had shopped around for salons and came upon this one , it's hard to find all inclusive salons but if you have any type 3c or 4c hair Kristi can definitely handle it. She worked with a lot of patience and still with all my hair was super organized and calm. I have been refused service before So I was hoping to get in somewhere, I probably ruined it for everyone coming in after me as they charge by the hour now for thicker more volume hair like mine , so just ask for a rough quote so there are no surprises. Nothing was negative about my experience just hoped that she would have had some help next time I mentioned two people usually did my hair but they didn't have the help at that time so I did spend a lot of time there besides that I have nothing negative so say I finally got my hair done! read more

Just needed my ends trimmed. She called it "dusting" about 1/4" off the ends of my long-ish hair. Stylist: " You don't really need a shampoo and style right?" Me: "Is it less cost if I don't have it done?" Stylist: "yes" Me: "okay" After it took all of about 10-15 minutes. I gave my cash tip and went up to pay. I love this Salon! Every time I come in they treat me like royalty. It is such a great feeling to be welcomed. I get my hair cut and colored every 6 weeks and I get compliments DAILY on the color (gorgeous blonde)! It makes me feel so beautiful when this occurs.
