I wanted to retain as much length as possible while cleaning up my split ends, adding more lift to my curls, and incorporating some soft face framing. She immediately had a vision and went to work. It was genuinely beautiful to watch her artfully shape my curls--carefully snipping here, refining there--and throughout the appointment our conversation flowed naturally. We discovered several shared interests, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Nikki's apprentice (I wish I could remember her name!) did the shampoo and conditioning service, and it was incredible. The shampoo is always my favorite part of any salon visit, but this one was next level. The scalp massage was relaxing, the pressure was perfect, and I walked away feeling like stress I didn't even realize I was carrying had melted away. During styling, Nikki introduced me to a curl-defining brush and took the time to show me how to use it correctly. I already owned one but had been using it wrong. She explained everything clearly and made sure I understood the technique. The true test of a great curly haircut is what happens after you leave the salon. The next day, I was able to style my hair exactly the way Nikki had shown me, and my curls looked fantastic. Her name was consistently brought up. Okay, fine. I knew she was funny so at least I could get to know her a bit. She put me at ease as I was afraid to do a curly cut (not all stylists are good at them, or understand them). She disarmed me and listened, and seemed to understand every point and fear I presented. Needless to say, I was thrilled to not have life turned upside down from a silly haircut, which it could have been! () She was fantastic both in her experience/talent as a stylist and also as someone to work with and has enough experience that you can't really throw her from her focus. I am looking forward to another visit and to enjoy not just a haircut but also some laughs because of her fantastic personality (charming, funny)! She's AMAZING. I've never met anybody who treats each one of her clients like they're family, and takes as much patience and care as she does with each one of them. She's known my family for I don't even know how many years now, and even though I only see her from time to time, it's always like catching up with an old friend - she's great! I called ahead of time because I was looking for a quick place to get my hair trimmed before I headed towards traffic by my house. I told her that I'd be there within 15 mins and she said thats fine. When I arrived through the door 13 minutes after she called me to say she was going to be 10 minutes late. I said that was fine since I was already there not knowing she wasnt going to be there! (SOOO a side note: I love my hair! I am a mixed girl and I used to straighten it alot because I was insecure about it. I've learned the past few years to embrace my frizz and love it for all it has to offer.) The lady asked if I wanted a Brazilian blow out and I said no its okay. Then she said if I wanted to straighten it. I said no I like my hair how it is. She then continued with what she was going to do with the trim and right before I got up to go wash it, she said then we will straighten it. :( WTF in my head I was pretty frustrated she didn't even get to know me and what my wants were. I politely said no I don't want to straighten it I just want a trim. She washed it and I asked her to take as little off as she could because I'm trying to grow my hair out but I just need to trim it to get the split ends out. YES I knew my hair was kind of crooked and was longer on one side but I didn't care because once its all long enough, I will even it out. I just wanted to take a little off all around to help the split ends. She then continued through the whole hair cut talking about the Brazilian blow out and how it will make my hair better. I told her I was a single mother that was a new widow on my way home down south. She's trying to sell me an expensive service that takes about 2-3 hours?!?!? Its obvious shes isnt listening to what Im saying. She took off way more then I wanted JUST like in the other comments below. And she evened out my hair so now I don't even have one side longer which is something I wanted. She even tried to say how much better it looks. :( Isn't what the customer wants??? She pushed me so much she wanted me to take a picture of the Brazilian Blowout Brochure. I ended up telling her next time I cannot do this right now. If she only knew that if she just mentioned it once to me and took my NO the first time and spent more time getting to know me that I would have gladly come back and done the service with her. If I feel pushed its just making me rebel because I HATE the feeling of someone trying to make me buy something where they don't even know where I'm coming from. I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE COMING HERE if they want something simple done to their hair.

Well, that obstacle couldn't stop Heather to do an amazing job She listens to what I want, knows instantly what to do balancing my dream haircut vs the reality of my hair and delivers the perfect outcome :) I wanted some bangs to cover the extra fat on my face I've been gaining since the pandemic LOL. My hair is genetically very thin, so I'm glad Heather told me NO it wasn't a good idea and gave me a lot of nicely framing layers instead. Pricing are standard, and the salon is very clean, follows all CDC guidelines and hey, if you like DIY crafts, she made a few cute pieces there that for sure would capture your attention :) Pictures are my 2nd time seeing her for the balayage, 2 months after my initial hair cut.

While waiting, she has the tv on playing some music to entertain her customers. Not only do they do hair there. They can do your nails, too. I didn't see anyone actually getting them done, but there was a booth for that. But I wanted to get my hair cut, something short and I'm glad how it turned out. I will come back to see her once it's starts growing out some more or for a new look.
