I had to switch to a new hairstylist to get an appointment in and decided on Jessilyn due to her being a senior stylist. I made an appointment a week in advance. Everything was going well till the person at the front desk came to the back where I was at the sinks getting rinsed and said there was a person that needed to get their hair styled and could Jessilyn do it. With no regard to me and my in-progress appointment she agreed. From there on I was delegated to the helpers in the salon to finish what was needed at the sinks. Jessilyn then rushed over cut my hair quickly in an obvious rush to get to the other client and then delegated the helper to blow dry my hair. It was obvious the poor helper did not know what she was doing. I ended up with a flat head of hair with no body. Jessilyn who was next to me cutting the other person's hair, did not even check to see how my hair turned out and if there needed to be any additional trimming made to my hair. When I went to pay, I mentioned what happened to the front desk person, and she got very rude and asked me to pay and leave. At that point I was very disappointed and not happy with the treatment of a long-time customer and left. I know they want to make money and fit in as many customers as possible but, if there is a customer in the middle of getting a haircut and color, they should not shortchange them just to make more money and fit someone else in. It was genuinely beautiful to watch her artfully shape my curls--carefully snipping here, refining there--and throughout the appointment our conversation flowed naturally. We discovered several shared interests, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Nikki's apprentice (I wish I could remember her name!) did the shampoo and conditioning service, and it was incredible. The shampoo is always my favorite part of any salon visit, but this one was next level. The scalp massage was relaxing, the pressure was perfect, and I walked away feeling like stress I didn't even realize I was carrying had melted away. She asked if I needed a shampoo and I said that i thought, with my ends being so dry, that it was a good idea so it would be easier to cut. What I got was no shampoo I ever received! It was at least a ten minute head massage and very thorough wash and conditioning of my hair. It felt really nice. Totally unexpected. After that amazing shampoo, she could have cut my hair blindfolded and I probably would have been happy. But on the contrary, I probably received one of the best haircuts I have ever had. At 40, that's saying something. And after all that , she said I owed her $19. WHAT!?!? Unbelievable. What an amazing deal! I've gone to much worse places for a ton more. I had never dyed, highlighted, or bleached it before, and that is exactly why I was so careful. I showed her a clear inspiration photo, asked if the look could be achieved, and trusted her when she told me it could. The result was not even close. The back of my hair stayed extremely dark while warm/golden pieces were added, especially around the front. It was completely different from the soft, blended dimensional brunette I had dreamed of. What frustrates me the most is that this appointment did not just disappoint me for a few days. More than 10 months later, I am STILL dealing with it. Permanent color was put on my virgin hair, and now I keep going to consultations hoping someone can finally FIX my hair and give me the hair I originally wanted, only to be told that my previous color makes everything much more difficult. Some stylists have even declined to work on my hair and told me I may need to wait for more of it to grow out. I had a consultation before the appointment and was never told that the result would require multiple sessions. Only after I was unhappy was I told that what I wanted could not realistically be achieved in one session. If I had known that beforehand, I would never have agreed to permanently color my virgin hair. The salon refunded $322 of the $362 charge after I raised my concerns, and I appreciate that, but a refund cannot give me my virgin hair back. There genuinely has not been a day that I haven't regretted this appointment. Hair might seem like "just hair" to some people, but for me this has been something I have had to look at and live with every single day for almost a year. I walked into that salon excited for my first color experience, and I left with something I am still trying to fix today. I wish more than anything that I had never done it.

She had the nerve to look at me and say that I was doing something wrong and that there was nothing she could do, but that I needed to buy more products from her and proceeded to keep dying my hair even though I said I didn't think the dye would be a great idea, but she said it was fine, she wanted to cover my grey. I trusted her. Hair keeps falling out. Then, I was late to an appt once and had to cancel another appt on the same day for an emergency. The receptionist called me and said very rudely that they don't put up with this and if I was to re book I had to pay 50% first. I found this highly ridiculous. Never going back. That's when I found Rachel. I emailed Rachel that my hair was falling out and no one had seemed to care, I felt unheard and treated rudely by my last two stylists, and I needed some real help. Someone with more experience. She immediately emailed me back with compassion and told me that she would be happy to see me asap. I saw her that week, and she immediately noticed how brittle my hair was, despite no heat applied for months, and multiple creams applied every morning. She said it was not my fault, said to trust her with her sensitive but very effective dyes and I did. My hair has stopped falling out! My color is the best its ever been, my cuts are done so professionally, styled to perfection, people stop me and say how gorgeous my hair is all the time. I want to cry writing this, I cant tell you enough how much she has changed my life, and my hair. I'm sorry for the long review, but I really want you all to know how much she has changed my life. It's not a glamour salon but very practical and comfortable enough (I tried another "inexpensive" salon in the area which had terrible lighting and high turnover on stylists, so I appreciate this) I've not tried coloring services here myself, so can't comment on that.

Every time I am asked what I want and every time I reply that it is all in the notes and the last 3 occasions I have had to remind the stylist to do the eyebrows.
