I just moved into the area and wanted to chop my hair short. I wanted to do a "Victoria Beckham" hairdo. We randomly stopped by Top Cuts. It looks like an expensive salon, but don't worry. Their services are fair and reasonably price. I thought a hair cut was going to cost $30-$45 bucks, but only ended up being $22! To be honest, I thought the way I explained my hairdo without pictures or saying "Victoria Beckham", it would not turn out the way I wanted it. But after it was done, it was PERFECT! Just what I wanted!! Lyn was the one that cut my hair and she did an amazing job! -GREAT customer service. I called to ask for a general price and how long would it take for a full color and a cut. Nothing fancy, just a straight forward cut (took off 6 inches with layers) and depending if I had the time, I would get my hair colored. I told them my hair was long (like lower back long) but I was going to cut it shorter anyway. They gave me a general price over the phone and I was, 'Cool, lets go.' When I got there, I believe I spoke with someone with authority and she tasked someone to look at my hair to see what needed to be done. Strike 1 - TWO of them hovered over my phone when I showed them a picture (blackberry all over color, mid length w/ layers) and different 'estimates' were being given by both of them. Strike 2 - While one cuts my hair, they continued to talk about prices and once they saw how show short/long it was then they started to settle on a price. I just told them no and settled on just a cut. Strike 3 - She didn't do the proper cut. No layers just a soft straight cut. -sad face- O.o I was already feeling unsettled since the beginning and I felt that I needed to just get my hair cut and go. In the process, she cuts my bangs too short (at the eyes length) when I initially showed her that it should of been just below my nose. I paid and I left. read more

This is my first Yelp review. Having recently spent over $200 for an ombre that totally dried out my ends, I was in need of a quick fix to chop them off. After reading the reviews here, I decided to try out Top Cuts. Ty was my hairdresser and she was fantastic! She asked if I needed a shampoo and I said that i thought, with my ends being so dry, that it was a good idea so it would be easier to cut. What I got was no shampoo I ever received! It was at least a ten minute head massage and very thorough wash and conditioning of my hair. It felt really nice. Totally unexpected. After that amazing shampoo, she could have cut my hair blindfolded and I probably would have been happy. But on the contrary, I probably received one of the best haircuts I have ever had. At 40, that's saying something. And after all that , she said I owed her $19. WHAT!?!? Unbelievable. What an amazing deal! I've gone to much worse places for a ton more. I was looking for a inexpensive close place to get my daughter and I a haircut and ran across the review for this place. I hesitantly called because I rarely go to random places for any kind of hair service, I've had nightmare haircuts before. I made an appointment and braved it to go in. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's a full service salon with very reasonable prices. The owner cut my hair and because I hadn't had a haircut in several months it was quite a job. I was confident enough with her to get about five inches cut off and choppy layers and I kid you not she worked on my hair for almost an hour. It looks fantastic. I also had her do my brows and they also look great. As far as I could tell it is a small local company and the owner works very hard to keep her customers happy. I normally don't review very often, but this place really is a gem and inexpensive enough that you can do all the services you want cheaper than you may think! read more

Frustrated with long hair, I went in without an appointment and told Lyn to do whatever she wanted, just cut it above my shoulders. She seemed a little bit uncomfortable with that proposition but the results were amazing and I couldn't be happier. I have been going to Top Cuts for about 4 years now since moving here. I had always received a great cut from my stylist Lisa. Upon finding out she had moved out of the area I was very apprehensive about finding another stylist who would listen to my directions on my cut. since I moved to Maple Valley last Summer, I've been trying different hair salons in the area with no luck. Only until I gave Top Cuts a chance ;) well I got to admit this lady Lyn knows how to do bussiness with your hair. So far I've had only coloring and styling services but I'm very satisfied with them. Another nice lady did my toddler girl haircut once and she did a great job. Best of all, these ladies treat you like family and are very corteus and professional. I think I'm going to be a regular at this place, not only me but my whole family (I have four girls so a lot of hair to work on) ;P So I definitely recommend Top Cuts in Maple Valley! This was my first time here. I chose this place based on other Yelp reviews. Unfortunately I came in on Lyn's first day back from vacation. Luckily I had made an appointment. Lyn was on her own this day. She was only about 7 minutes late getting started which I didn't mind. I'd brought my book. She starts with shampooing your hair. This includes a scalp massage which was a nice bonus! Since she was alone this got interrupted a few times by the phone ringing and customers coming in hoping for walk in service. She cut my hair very nicely. It took about one hour for everything. She was very thorough. I loved that she wasn't overly chatty. I prefer to just read my book and relax. I was a bit put off at the end when she told me their pricing structure changed at the new year. Instead of $19 for all women cuts its now based on length. My hair was below my shoulders so it cost $25. This is not posted anywhere on their web site or signage in the store. For this reason I'm only giving 4 stars. Prices should be up to date. Not a verbal surprise after services are completed. I will still be returning in the future because even at $25 it was well worth it. read more

This is the worst hair cut place ever. The staff is very unfriendly and rude. I went for my kid's haircut and asked the lady to cut my son's hair at half a inch length. The lady went cutting on and on and almost tonsured his head. I told her to stop that she is cutting too much and she started yelling on me literally that she needs to level..Yeah level 0. Finally when i asked to do some finishing touch on forehead, she just bluntly refused..yeah..and after all this..She asked for a tip..Unbelievable!! Next time I would rather pay a few dollars extra somewhere else to be treated with respect and humility and get a good hair cut. read more
