I tried this salon for the first time, and the polish on one of my nails chipped within two hours…read moreof leaving the salon! Here was my experience: I came in for a gel manicure and asked for a French tip design. I will say that the design looked nice, and it was the design that I requested. However, within 1.5 hours of leaving the salon, I noticed that the polish on one of my pinkies had chipped! Normally, I would go right back to the salon, so they could fix it. However, I was catching a flight. Thus, I was rushing around a bit afterwards to get to the airport on time, but I have gotten gel manicures many times before, and this is the first time it chipped so quickly. I came in with someone else, and she had even said she was concerned about her nails chipping because they only put one coat of polish. I guess I was case in point. I called and spoke with them; they requested pictures and took down my number. I did talk to a manager the next day about my experience. However, the manager reiterated multiple times that they do not offer any refunds. Normally, this would be fine, and I would go back in to get them fixed. However, I was only visiting Washington and visit sporadically (not even once per year). All she could offer was a discount or to work something out the next time I visit. I am certainly not hoping that anything will come of this, but I do hope they address this issue in the future so that other people's nails don't chip so quickly, especially because this salon is not cheap. With other nail salon options in the area and given my experience, I will likely not be back. I did give them 3 stars because they at least tried to address the issue (though not satisfactorily) and I did like my nail design. However, given the cost, I would rather go elsewhere in the future.

I tried Headgames and Wendy because I had some issues with my recent cuts since I'd added bangs…read moreback in. I'd talked to my previous stylist about my concerns but she told me it had to be cut that way because of how the hair falls. What I particularly liked about Wendy: I asked her what she thought before telling her my concerns and she immediately identified the issue that I was concerned about and brought up how she could lighten it up and redirect that weight. Additionally, she cuts it dry so she can get a feel for how your hair moves and wants to lay. I also had her foil my hair in the initial visit. She was able to capture the tone of my natural color so the foil sort of blends with my grey almost eliminating that line of demarcation you get as a foil grows out. This means I should be able to go longer between foils or do more partial foils as long as I don't go too light. I've been back once after 2.5 months just for a cut because I didn't need another foil. I was kind of hoping to save money over my previous place and this was about the same or a little more. But it was worth it as I really appreciate Wendy's approach and even more importantly, results! I've been back once for a cut and already booked my next foil.
