DO NOT GO HERE, worker combed out the ball to my eyebrow piercing...like seriously? thats not just a simple accident. couldnt find the ball afterwards and expected me to wait 4 days until i could talk to their manager. caught my piercing a SECOND time with their comb and poked my eye while drying my hair...lady had zero clue how to cut hair, kept taking way too much off to account for the unevenness of the cuts. Just got a phenomenal hair cut and balayage from Natasha (Tasha) at The Shop in Covington!! She was incredibly meticulous throughout the whole process - and I have a LOT LOT LOT of hair. I get balayages pretty regularly but this has to be my favorite. She took her time, never commented about how much work my hair was, and was kind. Best part of all was I was able to get my hair done the same day I wanted it. The price for what she did was VERY REASONABLE considering she spent HOURS on all the hair I have. I will be recommending to anyone who wants a balayage. She's truly an artist. I used to love this place. The past couple of times I have gone the service has declined but yesterday was the worst. I showed up at 4pm and there were three people cutting hair and nobody waiting. I was told I would have to wait 30min. I was totally fine with that. After 40min. the person at the front desk apologized for the wait and offered me a $5 off coupon. I was totally fine with that, sometimes you just have to wait and it was nice that she acknowledged me. By 4:50pm all three chairs were empty and the stylist were either having side conversations or messing with their phones. At 5pm, after waiting an hour, I had to give up. As I stood up, I noticed one stylist putting on her make-up, one was on her phone and I couldn't tell where the third one went. I had no time to wait any longer. I feel bad for the person managing the desk becuase this was completely out of her control. I don't understand how those three stylist could feel comfortable messing around while they knew I had waited for so long. It just blows my mind. If they don't respect me as a human, waiting for an hour, how can I expect them to respect my scalp while their cutting my hair. I'll never go there again. read more

It's a very solid shop overall. I've had several really good haircuts, a few okay, and one or two slightly sub par (90% approx. 4*). Today I had my second cut by Rachel, by request, after a morning call to get on the list (Covid and all). I requested her because my last cut was one of my best I've ever had. My haircutting past consisted largely of higher end barbers/salons. Her attention to detail and skill is top tier and would highly recommend to anyone. She remembered much of our previous discussion on hair and what I liked after one visit 3.5 weeks ago. Once again, she did a phenomenal job that could rival any previous cut I've ever had. read more

All very good at what they do. Be sure you book in advance as they tend to be pretty popular and as such are not always available. Gave this place two chances with my teen sons. Big mistake. They are sloppy, they don't do a "clean" cut, and the cuts were terribly uneven. I take them to the girls at BeautyWorks now. I've been to this place twice now and both times I went someone was there waiting to cut my hair. First time I went Mandy cut my hair. She did a really good job of doing a fade cut and I loved the look. Second time I went I was helped by Larence. I asked for the same fade cut but added a request to do one line. He cut it a little too short but he made it work. He even offered me to come back in week to fix it up from being so short at no extra charge. On top of the good service the place is pretty cool. I like that they have the garage door that they open when it's nice out. The place is also very spacious. read more

Been going here for several months since I've moved here. They always have a decent haircut. Today I walked in at 7:10pm and they close at 8pm. There were two stylists, one person behind the counter and one customer was waiting. As I put my name on the list, the woman behind the desk said 'we will probably be done after we get to him.' Worst case scenario, they have to stay a few minutes after 8 if they would have cut my hair as well. Welp, just lost my business! You would think with a business model that needs quantity and repeat customers, they would have a bit more grace to serve their customers. I understand if I strolled in at 7:50, but there was 50 mins left until they close, so I don't get it. If you want your stylists to be gone by 8, then how about you post your hours only until 7pm. If you had good customer service you would take anyone that walked into your door up to 7:59. read more

Stopped in for the first time with my toddler. Cheyenne took care of him and did a fantastic job! She was super quick but did a great job, while keeping my son calm. I went to the Covington, WA location with my 2 sons(8&10). My 10 year old had gotten his haircut last week and today it was the 8 yr old's and my turn. When we showed up, all with masks on, they informed me I would have to leave my 10 year old outside since he wasn't a customer. I understand covid makes things difficult and we were all wearing masks, but who the hell leaves their 10 year old in a parking lot for the duration of a haircut?!? On top of that, they were just there with their mom last week! And they let his mom and brother both in when they weren't getting haircuts! This is completely unacceptable! I have gone to the hair "shop" for years and loved it. Sadly, over time their service has gone down hill while prices have continued to rise. Today I called ahead to get added to the list, per their requirements as they don't take appointments. You read That right, a hair Salon that does NOT take appointments. Well, I was put on the list and told it would be 45 minutes. I ran a quick errand and showed up about 30 minutes later. When I checked the list when I got there, there were still 4 people ahead of me waiting. I was told it would be fast so I sat to wait. One hour later I was STILL sitting there. I again checked the list, and thank goodness, I was next. Then they called someone else who was not on the list. What?! I asked the girl at reception how that happened and she said he called and requested someone by name (which I had tried to do but the girl I used to see quit and is no longer there). Since he requested the girl that was now available even though I had been waiting longer and was next on the list he got to go first. What kind of lame policy is that? I told her that was not how it has ever worked for me in the years I had been going there. She smiled a very smug grin and said "that's the policy because he requested her but don't worry, you will get whoever is next". I was so angry that I left. The haircuts are sub-par most of the time and the customer service is just unacceptable. Example: The receptionist screwed up my appointment (she didn't write it down I guess) and I had to wait outside in the heat (was very sunny that day) due to their Covid policy..I was perturbed to say this least but the icing on the cake was during my haircut they let a mom wait inside for her son to complete his haircut... I was irritated on waiting outside but understood that is their policy but making one person do it and not another is just bad business... Highly recommend staying away from this place... read more

I came in for a bleach and tone and told the stylist that I was going to add the gray at home. I had about 3 inches of grow out that I wanted to blend into the gray. The stylist confidently said that she could do the gray/silver for me so I thought, why not, saves me the process. I left with wet hair so I was unsure what the hair looked like. Got home, dried and straightened and realized my hair was probably 12 different shades. My hair was full of horizontal stripes of brown, my roots looked like they got touched with bleach in odd spots and my hair cut was choppy when I asked for no layers. This was $220 and I called to ask for a refund but they insisted on fixing my hair. I came back a day later and had a deep condition. I had to come back again 2 days later for the bleach and tone but was turned away because my 2 month old baby did not have a mask on. So...went into this place a month ago and got a great haircut so went back. Previous cutter was not there. So ended up with 'Amy' who seemed to be free and thought I'd give her a try as needed the hair to get cut and that was the plan. Sat down and first question was 'so how short do to want your hair'. I said not that short, but I like it so it falls over a bit. She then asked 'so a razor level 4'? I said I have no idea. She breaks out a razor she calls #4 and cuts off a small chunk on the right and says 'how is that for length'? I said not sure but i like it above the ear on the sides. she says OK, probably a #3 then. She goes back to her speed cut and within the next 20 seconds that razor zipped around both sides of my head and then even up the back. My hair is suddenly shorter than it has been for 20+ years. Woah I said that's short, do you use scissors?. She said no on the scissors as they are only for 'blending'. Well, another 20 seconds later, the scissors came out and they blended the buzz cut on the sides into a buzz cut up top. That only took about 6 cuts (literally). Two minutes later, my hair had two distinct levels, one where the whole side was one length of about .25 inches and the rest that was about half the length it used to be. If she had tried to freaking 'blend' it, I would not have any hair. So, now, I have a god damn flat top haircut when I had hair that fell over my eyes before. When done, The Spot hair queen Amy didn't bother asking me if it looked OK, didn't bother showing me the back (and I understand why now because it's jagged) and didn't bother even checking to see if the sideburns were at the same level. This is easily the worst haircut from a butcher who could care less about how those who received the cut looked. Perhaps she is in love with miltary men and cops and wants all to look like them? Otherwise, I cannot believe this chick actually has this job and rest assured this overpriced Great Clips is somewhere I feel bad for people who enter and will not return to. People I don't even know on the train overheard my story on the phone and made fun of me. IT'S LITERALLY A FLAT TOP! WOW. read more
