Been coming since 2009, did my hair for all my shows starting in 2010, then when I went on hiatus in 2013 the girls started coloring my hair every color under the sun. I've been every color except for orange. Who knows maybe one day I'll go orange. My normal go to colorist/ stylist is Lam. She also waxes My brows and lips. I only trust her with my face waxing. But if she's not in town, the owner Haley will take over. That's when she's not busy. They have created a color that I've been wearing since the pandemic. I've gone back with black hair in between, but they know me so well that they know I'm not happy without color in my life, so after a year they brought me back to blue. Everywhere I go, different states, across the borders either Mexico or Canada I get stopped and complimented on my hair. I don't get the complaints on here. When I read the complaints it reminds me of legally blonde where the step daughter said she took a shower after getting a perm. When you darn well know you're not supposed to wash your hair after a perm. Maybe it's not the girls at the salon, maybe it's your fault. Plus the one dude who complained was not even at the correct salon looking at his photos ‍. Anyway, if I ever have to move away I will truly miss these gals. They are more than Five stars. DO NOT come here ladies! I had came here for a blowout and was immediately happy with how affordable the prices were and wanted to support a local business. However, once I got done with the lady who washed and conditioned my hair (who did a decent job, a little rough though) another lady came to help her blow dry me. I will mention I have long thick hair, so I wasn't surprised. They didn't even brush my hair first, NO heat protectant and instantly started blow drying! When I asked about heat protectant the lady said because it was a ceramic curling iron "it wasn't necessary" I had to end up de tangling part of my hair myself, my ends were fried and really dry and my hair was not smooth at all. While I did have curls In my hair, it was not evident I had just gotten a blowout at a salon. I was EXTREMELY disappointed and will not be returning. While it was an affordable price, I do expect good quality service. The lady kept complaining about how thick my hair was and it just didn't make me feel comfortable. This was supposed to be a self care treat for myself and my experience was ruined. read more

First and foremost, I was pleased with the haircut as I got something newer, though the initial experience left more to be desired. Allow me to go into more detail below: The location of the seats are an "L" shape, where if you are sitting on the seats over by the wall (towards the right hand side upon entering the salon), your presence is blocked by the hair styling products stand as you will see it the attached picture. This could cause you to be skipped in the rotation, which leads to instances of an honor system between patrons of who really got their first. Perhaps I'm being nit picky here but a better alternative that could be looked at would be a "check-in" system, something like here on Yelp where it time stamps when you checked in, alleviating any confusion or disagreement of who arrived first. Another area of issue was the tiled floor, which before I never really noticed an issue until I felt my shoes which have pretty rugged soles, begin to slide. This could present issues for those with mobility issues or the elderly, and could be potentially avoided with more non slip mats or a different textured flooring, as the one present in the main entry way. The haircut itself is a nice high fade, which was my intention in the first place. I suppose little things are starting to add up, and I thought it would be advisable to bring them to your attention fellow reader. This salon is still a good place to get a haircut and I cannot argue against that, which is why the score of a three still remains. read more

I'm definitely terrified of getting haircuts in sketchy-looking strip malls, but this place is different. My mom has been looking for something close to home that she can rely on. These ladies gave her exactly what she wanted and they were nothing but friendly. Being Vietnamese, you're so used to hearing the ladies talk smack, but not here. I especially enjoyed this part. I did not get a haircut here, instead I went for a brow and lip wax. The stylist that helped me was super careful and checked with me multiple times if I was doing ok. I have been coming here for years, and just recently moved away and decided to try a new (much more expensive) hairstylist in Bellevue. For triple the price, the haircut was actually worse ! So I sheepishly came back to Hailey and she made me look good again! And she is so friendly and sweet, and knows me so well, it is worth 30-45mins drive (in traffic. There is always traffic!) to visit her again and leave looking fabulous! read more

I've been going here for years as well as most of my family. The ladies are wonderful and do a great job on my hair which is a full foil and long. I used to go to Gene Juarez but realized I was paying far too much when I could get better service and similar quality right down the street. They cut my husbands hair and trim his beard just they way he likes, they also cut my son and daughter's hair. They are great with children- they talk to them and ask them how school is going and remember little details from the whole family. I love this place! I got a full foil today and a cut (that's fantastic!) for under $100!!!! Can't beat it! read more

Never again. Went in for a perm and was sorely disappointed. I walked in the night before and asked how much for a perm and how soon they could get me in. They said the next day between noon and 1 and it would be $80. I called a little later to confirm they had me down because the lady I spoke to when I was there, was doing someone's hair. The lady on the phone confirmed appointment for next day. I confirmed the price and she sounded hesitant at first then said if that was the price I was given then it would be fine. I arrived the next day and the lady that greeted me seemed surprised that I was there for a perm so she checked the appointment book and sure enough, no appointment on record. The lady I spoke with in person the night before was there and confirmed my appointment. I was called back for a wash. The lady sees me carrying my jacket in hand and says they should have a coat rack some where but never offers to take my jacket so I'm holding it in my lap the entire time I'm there. The chair she sat me in still had someone else's hair where you rest your neck. She was careless when washing my hair and got my sweatshirt wet. I never not had a towel wrapped around my neck while getting my hair washed until this day. Afterward, she took me to a salon chair then shuffled me to another one. She draped me but still no towel around my neck which I thought was odd since I was getting a perm and figured they would want to avoid getting the chemicals on my clothes. We discussed what I wanted and I showed them pictures of what I wanted. One lady said I need to look up pictures of actual perms because the ones I was showing her were natural curls so it wouldn't look the same. I understood that but asked if they would be able to achieve something close. These other lady (with whom I spoke to the night before) said they could do it. Then she and the other lady spoke to each other in their language then came back to me and said that what I asked for the night before was a basic perm which is why I was told it would be $80. However what I actually want is a spiral perm so it was going to be $120. I told her that we didn't discuss what type of perm I wanted because she was in the middle of cutting someone's hair but she asserted it was going to be $120 so I went ahead with it. The lady that I made the appointment with, came to roll my hair. She was really fast (which concerned me) and had done about a quarter of my hair in a few minutes. Then the other lady came back and started rolling the other side. This also concerned me because I wasn't confidence they were rolling the same. They also kept switching off when people came in. Fast forward... all my hair is rolled but I had to ask her to redo one toward the front because it was loose. All rollers were loose but the one in the front was noticeably loose. They started pouring the chemicals and sure enough, it starts dripping down my back and face. I had to ask her for a towel to wipe myself up. When they're all done I turn to look in the mirror and there were strands left out everywhere. Then they take me to get rinsed out and take out the rollers. However, instead of unravelling the rollers, she yanks them put and however they wrapped it made it so the ends are tangled in the paper. Again, instead of working the tangle out, the just rips the rollers out of my hair. I stated that I have never had rollers get tangled in my hair like that and that she needs to unravel the rollers instead of yanking it. Of course she had an excuse and said it was because I had a lot of 'baby hairs' but she did change the way she took out the rollers also she wasn't ripping them out. Mind you, everytime she took out a roller, the threw that section of hair over the front of shoulderro rest on my chest. The water began soaking through the drape and through my sweater. Also, not sure if she was supposed to, but she didn't use any shampoo to rinse. With a towel barely on my head, a soaked drape I had rolled up and was holding so it didn't drip on to my clothes anymore and holding my jacket between my legs, she asked to walk over to a salon chair. I had to ask her for a new drape because the I had was soaked. The other lady that was working on my hair was adamant that I couldn't put anything in hair fir the next few days, especially nothing moisturizing. However, other counterpart (barely)sprayed my hair with 2 different hair products and when the other lady commented on it, I guess she said it was okay so the other one was like oh I guess not. They didn't comb out my hair or anything so I left with dry tangled hair. I got my hair permed about 3 years ago and the experience was night and day. The first picture is what I wanted my hair to look like this time (or similar). I came here on a whim to get a haircut since my normal stylist moved and I was welcomed by a friendly stylist who also wanted to refresh my highlights. (Needed it baaaaadly) Since I really had nothing to lose, I went for it and it came out beautifully. She even colored my grays, gave me a fresh cut, blow dry and styled all for a very reasonable price! Since my initial visit almost 2 years ago, these ladies have been my normal cut and color. To be very clear, I'm reviewing TN's other location at Central & Meeker in Kent that's right across Meeker from the Hong Kong Market. Same owner, but it seems like the salons and staff are very different. So, I got the Groupon yesterday because I desperately needed a cut and highlights. The reviews on Groupon were very positive and several mention Van as a great stylist. When I read the Yelp reviews, I was about to cancel the Groupon, but I noticed the addresses were different, so I called the number on my voucher first to see what the deal was. I felt comfortable enough with that conversation to go ahead and book an appointment for this morning. While it's not a luxury salon, I found it to be nice and clean enough. OK, there was a little dust on some of the stuff in the restroom, but I found it to be FAR cleaner and nicer than most of the lower cost salons in the area. Van sat me down in her chair, asked me what I wanted, and got to foiling. She explained that the "long hair fee" was for those with longer and/or thicker hair, without me asking, so she must get that question from most Yelp and/or Groupon clients. My hair was probably mid-shoulderblade when she started, but it's also fine (oh, I envy you ladies with thicker hair!), so I was not charged an additional fee. I get that it might feel unfair because it's the stylist's judgement call, but I learned that Van has a ton of experience, and she spent a lot of time on even my fine hair, so I think it's absolutely fair for them to charge extra for that extra work. Perhaps they should have an "Up to $35 extra for longer/thicker hair" policy instead of charging everyone who's over the hair limit the $35, though. The highlights look good, although next time I'll ask her to do even finer sections near the crown and/or decrease the time a bit for a subtler look. Then again, I usually nitpick the result (which is almost always my own handiwork) until I get used to the change and my hair was darker than usual to start with, so I may very well LOVE my new highlights later this week when we're better acquainted. :-D My cut is hard to mess up (although the stylist I've been seeing for a couple of years managed to last time, so it can happen!). Van already knew exactly how my hair type functions, and she was able to remove the damage while maximizing the length without any crazy layering that NEVER works out, even though most stylists desperately want it to. I declined anything beyond drying because there were other people waiting and I was headed to sweat at yoga. I'm sure she does a wonderful job, and I'll take her up on it next time. I drive by the 108th location often, so I'll have to stop in to take a peek and see how it differs. Hopefully the owner fixes it before she loses more customers at both salons due to the bad reviews for the Panther Lake salon. read more

After having the worst foil/ color experience from my stylist of 25 years I finally got brave enough to have someone fix it. My Husband, son and grandson had been coming to this salon for a few years and I decided to give it a try. So very happy that I did. My foil is beautiful and totally fixed the mess my (ex) stylist left me with. My cut is also exactly what I wanted. Thank you thank you thank you! I'll be back. read more

I booked an appointment at TN and when I arrived they told me I was not booked in. She said her boss usually never lets her know. Great first impression! I had a Groupon salon package with partial highlights. Luckily, she just finished her last customer and was able to take me in. Overall, it looks neat and pleasant. The hairdresser herself was sociable and friendly. The outcome and timing was poor though. Not to mention, were their towels clean? I instantly had itchy skin on my chin and left side of my lower cheek shortly after the cut was done. Eventually, it was a full blown rash! Definitely, not returning! read more

I have been to this salon twice now & have left feeling wonderful. I am a plus size woman & have been to salons where comments have been made about my size. The ladies there are beautiful petite Asian women who are sweet, kind & gave me what I want. The woman who shampooed my hair gave me a scalp massage which felt wonderful. The woman who colored my hair did a fantastic job. A beautiful red with blond highlights. The stylist Lam gave me a beautiful cut. I will continue to go back. read more

When I first came in for my appointment I was informed that my hair dresser would be late to my wash and blowdry. I asked if I was able to have my eyebrows done during the wait and I was taken care of promptly. The lady who did my brows gave me suggestions for a woman who does African American hair and makeup for weddings. I might have to check it out. After my brows were waxed (they looked great by the way) I sat back down and waited for my hair to be done. It took my hair dresser over half an hour to get to me, idk if I blame the jaw jacker before me but I'm use to waiting an extra 15 min to have my hair done, this felt like Doctor time instead. I could tell they are good at coloring hair because all the ladies who were receiving their style after color had awesome color. I did not see any African Americans in the salon which was a bit nerve racking since I'm black but they did have Essence magazine lol. Anyways, the cool thing was that anyone who came into the salon all of the hair stylists would greet them by name so that was impressive. The salon was well kept and had a nice style to it. I only wanted a wash and style. My hair turned out not satisfactory.  Although my hair was straight the roots were not so my hair was puffy. In conclusion,  this salon does great color and eyebrows but curly hair may want to look elsewhere. read more

I went to TN salon to have a straigtening and the two ladies was doing my hair. when other customer showed up they don't pay much attention. They burn and become frizzy my hair. The lady said not to wash my hair for at least 3 days but after a couple of days and wash my hair it doesn't look the way I expected, I went back there after couple of days and the owner just give a little trim and send me home some sample product that it should help my frizzy hair. Like another poster, I moved to WA and saw a Groupon for this salon that included a hair cut, shampoo, blow dry & style. I actually had to go to another salon in this chain because the woman overbooked herself. She never took my name or number to call me when I made the appointment, even though I asked if she needed those things. I sat down at the place 10 minutes away and the woman began to cut my hair dry. I reminded her of the Groupon and she washed and dried my hair before cutting it, which was odd. I prefer it to be cut wet so that the job is done more evenly. I left with an uneven hair cut in length and symmetry. Before I left, she tried to charge me extra for using the flat iron. I said, no, that's part of the Groupon. She said "ok, then you had long hair, so pay $5." I informed her that the groupon specified mid-back or longer would incur an extra charge and mine was shoulder length before the cut. I will never go back. I am unhappy with the experience and the end result. read more
