Having found a Groupon for a Brazilian Blowout for $99, I thought I would give this salon a shot. I saw this place had good reviews and awesome result photos, but I definitely had my doubts when I pulled into the parking lot. It was a tiny place next to a liquor store that showed no promise. There was one rep inside and for the entire time I was in. A couple of customers came in during the 3 hour keratin process, and the rep knew how to expertly manage her time to fit them in and keep my process going as well. Needless to say, I am elated about the results, and would recommend this place to anyone interested in this service! read more

Mya is so wonderful and did an excellent job with my hair! I originally booked an appointment for tomorrow but had to reschedule a day early due to a conflict in my schedule. She was kind enough to fit me in for a same day 3:30 appointment. Note that this appointment was for a Japanese Hair Straightening so it lasted 3 and a 1/2 hours. She was so sweet, professional, fun to talk to and a great hairdresser. After this experience, I plan to see her for all of my hair needs! My hair is super super curly and frizzy and she was able to transform it into shiny, frizz free, bone straight hair. My eye-shocking moment was when she blow dried my hair and it was exactly how I wanted it without the use of a straightening iron. She told me not to wash it for 2 days, deep condition once a week and sent me home with a sample to try, a clip and cap to hold my hair up and dry while I showered. She also made me a bowl of delicious soup after I mentioned that I should have eaten before the long appointment. I thought that was especially considerate of her. All in all, I had a great experience and I look forward to seeing her again. read more

After all these years, I still can't seem to trust anyone else with my hair except Mya. I went in on a Saturday morning with my mom. I asked her for an ash brown all-over color. I normally get highlights too but she did such a good job with my highlights last year (literally almost a year ago!) they didn't fade so much. The result turned out so beautiful! She did the ash brown color but left some of the highlights in, so that my hair ended up looking like a very expensive balayage I should also note that all the products she uses are very high quality. The shampoo and conditioner they used left my hair super silky and shiny which is super important if you've dyed your hair as much as I have! As always, an overall great experience. High-end looking hair for a very reasonable price. read more

Worst salon experience I've ever had. Let's start with when I walked in, I informed the woman I had an appointment for 10:30 for a Brazilian blow out and they looked surprised, like she didn't expect me but I was placed in a chair not long after walking in. She asked me what I was given as a price quote and I said 120 she said it might be more like 130, first price increase. I was taken to the shampoo bowl where a different women shampooed my hair. It was the most rough and aggressive shampoo I've ever received I thought it was a joke. she was scrubbing my head like I had never washed my hair before (this was second day hair) Once I was sat down the women from before said "wow your hair is really curly" with disgust. ( I am half black and white with loose curls due to straightening) so I was confused by her statement. However my hair did look very full because it was completely TANGLED. Probably because of the aggressive shampoo that was done. Then she increased the price again because it was "too curly and African American." She said it would be 150. I said no, because my hair is short and just above my shoulders. I told her from 120 to 150 Is too much so she went back down to 140. I was left to sit with the Brazilian blow out product on my head for over 20 minuets. I'm assuming this was due to them not remembering my appointment. They were all tending to other appointments. However I was offered a free trim to makeup for the wait. BASICALLY: This hair treatment is designed and marketed toward people with curly hair but I was treated as a huge inconvenience by the staff here and feel discriminated against I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone but especially anyone with hair that isn't pin straight. read more

Got a Japanese hair straightening done about 3-4 months ago. Already about an inch and a half from the roots is back to my natural curly hair.... Rip Off!!!Not worth the $300+. Also Mya just jumps right into it without explaining the steps, the process, how long....even the after care. Would not recommend this place! read more

I thought I'd share my most recent visit here. My first and last time to say the least. I bought a Groupon deal for a haircut, ombre, deep condition. Which was a good deal. So I called the salon and some lady named May or Mai answered sounding persistent that I come now. Coming in I wasnt greeted right away or given any eye contact. Okay whatever. Finally I show May (who seems to be the owner) the picture I wanted. Ombre, golden blonde with a simple trim, easy enough. I even said to make sure its not too bright, Im in the hospitality industry and can't be too bold. 1 hour later after foils and all have been placed. I hear a big ol' slab of hair dye go on my roots. I asked her what it was and she said it was fine she'll tone it later. OMBRE are highlights that go on the tips, not the roots. While HARRASING me to get a brazilian blowout and clearly said NO. She was so persistent, and honestly turned into a saleswoman. 3 hours later after hair being washed, I looked in the mirror and I was PLATINUM BLONDE. WTF. Mind you my previous hair was black with golden blonde balayage highlights. I told her it was TOO MUCH! She then had the audacity to say "I'm just trying to make you look pretty, but you don't want it". I said NO. But this is not what I WANTED.. So she told me she could only tone it to a medium brown. I was so mad. This was a complete disaster. She then cut my hair I prayed to god this would turn out okay. I was paying a little almost 200 for all this madness. She kept saying "I wish you would've told me this earlier" I ALMOST FLIPPED. Like yaaas bihh i did. She then said well if you get a brazilian blowout it'll look better. Like WTF. Thats not what I wanted. Needless to say, I will no longer be coming back. I now feel the need to wanna shave off this hot mess. read more

Got the Japanese Hair Straightening and they did a really nice job! Took about 4 hours which is typical so book an appointment or come early in the morning. The price was really fair as it can sometime reach $400+ when you have longer hair but the owner gave me a really nice deal with straightening, haircut, and treatment shampoo & conditioner to take home. Anyways, definitely coming back for my haircuts in the future and touch ups! read more

I really like this establishment because of the value and high quality service that I get each time I get my haircut. They are very friendly and ensure that my hair is evenly cut. They also wash my hair for a small fee, which leaves me feeling fresh after every haircut. Came in here for a simple wash and set. The price board lists it as $20. I have short hair. The wash was not thorough. I still had itch spots after the wash. I sat on the chair and she started to comb my hair with a brush she had used on someone elses hair and didnt wash. I had to ask for a towel to absorb the water in the back. She gave me a towel that someone else had used and it was still wet. She started to hot iron my bare hair. No heat moisturizer or anything was added before this process. She then said my hair would cost $35 and i asked her why while the board says $20. I told her about the poor service she had given me so far and then she said she would do it for $20. She took the flat iron and headed straight for my hair, it was too hot and she burnt my hair. At that point I told her I wasn't interested. She tried to talk to me but it was beyond repair. She asked for $10 for the wash. I paid her and was done!!!!!! read more

This is my third time having permanent hair straight in Washington and this is the best place so far!!! I'm just hoping the price is lower

I got the haircut, conditioning, style, full color, and scalp massage from Groupon for this business and it was the worst decision I've ever made. First, the fine print noted that there could be extra fees added on based on the length and density. My hair is shoulder length so that was no issue. What surprised me was they think my hair is thicker than average so I had to pay an extra $10! I don't think my hair is thick at all but I didn't want to have to deal with the argument. Second, I'm pretty sure the color product that they used on my hair is the same product you get from your average drug store. If I had known this, I would've just bought the product, do the coloring myself and save some money. The worst part is she didn't know to use vaseline on my skin around the edges so the coloring wouldn't stain my skin. So during the shampoo, she spent most of the time scrubbing my skins to get the color stain off. I still have black stain from the coloring on my face going to work this morning. What a horrible place! Third, the girl cutting and styling my hair was just awful and her job. She knocked my head with the hairdryer everytime she use it with a brush trying to style my hair. The worse part is when she's trying to burn my head with putting the hairdryer REALLY close to my scalp. Also, they are not professional at all. I told them I don't understand much of the language they speak but only a little bit. Little of what I know, I can understand when they were making fun of me. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. read more
