Saw this place while driving yesterday and decided to give it a try. Never going back! A young lady with glasses did my pedicure, and literally made all my toes bleed. She then sprayed them w alcohol and I was in pain. She never apologized, but acted like it was no big deal. My toes still hurt around each nail! When she was finished she took a qtip and put neosporin on it and put it around each toe. I did shellac mani and pedi and paid $80! Its not been one day and my toes still hurt! read more

I'm heavily balancing between a 3 and a 4 right now, for one reason. Ouch. I just got a basic mani/pedi, and both my feet and my hands are hurting. On my ring finger on both hands, the lady who did my nails sliced me in the same spot on BOTH FINGERS. They feel like paper cuts and open pretty much every time I move my hand. So, that's annoying. On my feet, while I was getting my pedicure, instead of pinching cuticles/dead skin, she pinched the side of my toe which caused me to jump because it hurt like hell and scared the shit out of me. She profusely apologized and I could tell she was really sorry, but shit. Overall, everybody here was really nice and I feel bad for giving a 3, but it's like... I shouldn't have cuts on both my hands and I shouldn't have gotten pinched so hard, either. On top of that, the water they use may or may not be lava. It's prettyyyy hot. On the upside, the service that they provide here is really good and they're all very nice. They don't talk about you in another language, they make sure that they really understand what you want, and they haVE DOGS. Little pups run around here, and it's so cute!!! I'm sure some people probably have a problem with that, but I consider it a plus. My nails turned out exactly the way that I wanted and my feet feel amazing now. I want to come back in the future just to give them another chance and hope that they don't cut me again. read more

I went to UV Nails on a whim after my go-to tech of 8yrs retired... In all honesty, I wish I would have came sooner! FIRST: you're greeted kindly both over the phone and in person. This place has a family feel and actually has their family pets in the salon! Sweet small dogs! SECONDLY: the owners and employees actually take the time to find out how you like your nails done not how they think they should be done. They have a strong attention to detail and do wonderful work. LASTLY: I was pleased to see the prices were extremely Fair. I paid exactly what I've been paying for the last 7 years and received just as great, if not better, of services. you really cannot beat a great fill that looks like a full set and a pedicure that leaves your feet feeling amazing and free, for $40. (Obviously shape and design do affect price anywhere you go though). I was so pleased with the work done as well as the service that I gave a $20 tip. Tina and Lynn are officially my go-to woman! I've been coming here for a couple years now and was never even a nail person but I love this place, I love the dogs, I love the owners. My nails are always on fleek - people everywhere ask me where I get them done. Vincent will try to get any design you want on there and he is as good with an airbrush as he is with handpainting. Lynn is amazing with the wax and tweezers and her nail fills and shaping are always perfect. Yes sometimes you will have to wait as they are often packed but they try very hard to get to everyone and so don't be a snotty brat thinking you are the only one in the shop! And please get a look at the price list BEFORE you have them do your nails! If you want him to spend 4 hours painting your childhood dog's portrait on your pinky nail you might pay a bit more. haha - I really love them. read more

This is not my normal go to place for a pedicure. But, I was having a very stressful month, and a friend invited me to a girls night for a mani/pedi. First, I can tolerate hot water more than most people, but the water in the tub was extremely hot, had to ask for cooler water. It only got worse from there. They were doing the pedicure, and trimming the nails, when I felt immense pain. I jumped and said "OWE" and asked what they were doing. They told me they were "cutting away dead skin" I don't think it was dead skin. I was bleeding, and it hurt. Next thing I know, they are spraying something clear, I assume isopropyl alcohol because it stung so bad, on my toe, and dabbed a tissue on the "cut" trying to stop the bleeding. They repeated this process 5 times. I'm not really the faint at heart type of person...but I was in some pain. Around the 3rd time of them doing this, I was not feeling well at all. Extremely hot/sweaty, dizzy, nauseous, the room got all cloudy, and my heart-rate spiked...I almost passed out. They had to lean my chair back, put a cool cloth on my head and give me water. About 30-40 minutes later, that feeling passed and I was feeling decent. After all of that, they did use a q-tip to put on some neosporin, told me "sorry for the owie" and to apply neosporin to the area twice a day. I'm a clean person. Took care of my painful foot. Couldn't walk correctly on it. Anything touching my toe made it hurt. Two days later, I woke up in the morning feeling SO sick, and my foot hurt SO bad. Called the doctor. Couldn't even put my shoes on. Got to the doctor, and they tell me it is infected. Now I get a doctor bill and antibiotics 4 times a day for the next week. It's been just over a week since this initially happened, I am still limping and still am very uncomfortable wearing shoes. This was the WORST experience I've ever had. I will never go back there. I really hate leaving bad reviews, but I felt that people should just be aware. I'll spare you all the photos of my poor toe, but I do have daily photos. I am a non-confrontational person, and I'm so mad that I didn't stand up for myself that day...and that I did in fact pay for this service. In all fairness though, I just wanted to get out of there and go home. I've paid for an awful experience/injury, a doctor visit and antibiotics. read more

This was my first time getting a manicure and it was a very good experience. The place itself isn't very fancy, but they have a friendly and welcoming environment. They have the movies playing in the background and a few dogs running around (you might not like it if you dislike dogs). The lady who did my nails was very kind and supportive. I have a nail biting problem so I am very embarrassed of my nails. It's the main reason why of my 30 years of existence, this was my first time ever getting a manicure! The lady just told me it's ok and encouraged me to break the habit. She even gave me tips on how to stop picking and biting my nails. I liked the look but not the pain or the price. I continued this routine searching for a painless manicure to no avail until I found Lynn and Vincent at UV Nails in Kent. I have been going to UV Nails now for about 6 years and it is the best salon I have ever found! My first concern is pain, then the look, then price/value. Each of my concerns was met, not once or twice but every time. The staff is very friendly, competent, and produces a quality manicure. I feel I've been blessed to know this group and highly recommend their services. They do not run you through like a fast food drive-through and the sessions are efficient and thorough. First time experience on a Saturday. I usually to another nail spa but for some reason I decided to try something different and boy I was surprised. Apparently the credit card machine was broke and no signage present eirther on the door of the business. I found that odd, and not very professional. However, well into my pedicure, the person sitting next to me realized and said out loud, credit card machine broken. I looked up out from my sunglasses, ask the person whom is servicing me, so she stopped to tell me to get cash. Luckily, the ATM wasn't to far away or I wouldn't of returned. When returned to the establishment, the owner or business supervior approached me to apolgize for the inconvienance this may of caused me. My response was, "yes this was an inconvienance", "why not have a sign present on the way in to your establishment"? Her response was, I think that would be rude. REALLY? Why you think you'll loose business. Come on.... I was dissappointed in the service, total ALL over experience. The nail servicer nicked my skin of my big toe, and no towels to wipe your hand in the restroom. I will NOT visit nor refer people to this establishment. I came in today a Friday at 2:35. Everyone had a guest so I didn't mind waiting at first. But as 20 minutes approached and two people had left I thought they would start on my pedicure. I waited so long the water was no cold. Finally someone came up and said a couple more minutes and added extremely hot water. It was so hot I couldn't keep my feet in it. I continued to wait another ten minutes as the lady ate lunch in the room next to me. I was very disappointed as I was referred to this place by a regular. I have been searching for a quality nail salon for several years in the Kent-Renton areas, and I FINALLY found one! I love coming to this place. They are professionals, know what they are doing, and they help educate you on things such as why you need an entire knew nail put on instead of a fill (i.e. water got under the nail, etc). Other places would just give you a fill and send you on your way... later to find issues down the road. They are nice, fun, quick, and I always come out very satisfied with my acrylics. They do great frenchies, full color, designs and air brushing. I hear they also do waxing, etc, but that's not my cup of tea. BEWARE I have been going to the salon for a little over a year and though higher priced pedicures they are very good. The only thing I'd be leery of is the added charges when you get a Set or Fill as they want to nickel and dime you for doing basic things. For example I came in for a Fill today, got a full set 3 weeks ago and and when done gave them a $20 as its $15 for Fill and left $5 Tip. They told me that my service was $20 and I asked why and they said because my nails were long & Coffin shaped? Yeah because I paid them 3 weeks before extra to get Coffin shaped so why would you charge me again when you didn't do anything new? They did not re-shape my nails as I told them they did not need to I just needed a little clipped off the tips for length which is been standard for the 25 years I've gotten my nails done, next thing you know they're gonna be charging you for painting them. read more

I came in today to UV Nails after calling them if they had space available they told me they had some cancelations to come on in. Not knowing I would receive the worst customer service from this place. When I arrived, I asked the price for a full set and a lady pointed out there price list on the wall that said acrylic and color $30 and up. The lady asked me what shape I was interested and answered her a coffin shape. As she worked on my nails a regular of their customer came in and I was put a side for about 30 minutes. When the lady got back to working on my nails I missed placed the color I had and with an attitude she complained about me being unsure what color I wanted. I asked a price if I added diamonds on my ring finger she asked the other co-worker and told me it would be $55.00 with color and a diamond. I asked how much would it be with out color and diamond she said it would be $60 because of my length of nail. I was unhappy for the price I was given from her after I was told from the start it would be $30. So I realized she got upset and continued finishing my nails but aggressively and cutting me on 2 fingers. I asked why so much and the gentleman said it states $30 and up but they could have told me from the begging the shape I requested would be a certain price. I had a friend with me and she got a regular size shape and color and got charged $50 they were very unprofessional talking in there language and laughing maybe thinking I wasn't able to afford the service in front of other customers. I felt disrespected been a walk in and not get a full service getting put a side and making me wait just because a regular of their customer shows up what makes them more special. After this experience I will not return or recommend it to anyone I know. read more

They were able to take me as a walk-in with absolutely no wait time on a Saturday. I got a manicure and pedicure. The ladies were nice and did a fairly good job. The one working on my nails cut the cuticle a bit too much and had it bleeding. The chairs were very comfortable. They had a TV there showing movies. They had the cutest little dogs in there, one was a puppy and very playful. With the exception of my cuticle, this was a great place to go. I would give them another chance. read more

Got grief for having shellac on my toes. She put the cotton balls on my toes, no foil, had another customer walk in and I've literally been sitting here for 15 minutes. Thought I would drop in for a quick pedicure and this was on the way home. Definitely would not come back! Although my pedicure looks okay and the polish I chose turned out to be a great color, I feel this nail salon is gross and unsanitary! For one, they use large lunch box containers to hold their supplies. Why not purchase those rolling stands that you see at other nail salons? The lunch boxes are just so cheap and not something that should be used for this purpose. This is your business...invest in the necessary supplies, don't be cheap about it! Two, there were two dogs walking around. At one point, one of them was licking my flip flop and no one bothered to shoo them away. Ummm gross! Lastly, the lady used cuticle oil to massage my legs. Fine. But then, she didn't bother to wash or wipe it off. At that point, I just wanted to get out of there so I left without saying anything. I walked out, slippery steps and all. I felt disgusted all the way home and couldn't wait to rinse my legs/feet off. There were other things that didn't sit well with me, but I won't point out every little thing. The takeaway point...this place is a BIG NO! There is Stop 4 Nails near Ikea and US Nails in Fairwood (owner Sarah is the best)...I'll stick with my regular shops from now on! read more

I've been a regular at this place forever now. I normally get a pedi and they always stay really consistent with doing a good job and never rushing me out of the chair. Whenever I leave it always looks super perfect and lasts for a good amount of time before needing to get them redone. They do tend to get busy in the evening times, so calling in advance would be helpful to see what your wait time looks like. This isn't a super fancy nail salon by any means, but the owners are friendly and they always do quality and consistent work and at the end of the day that's all that matters to me. Prices are pretty fair like any other salon but consistency and quality of work is what keeps me coming back. read more

I found this Nail Salon while living in Fife at the time from a friend I worked with in 2010 and I have been coming here ever sense for my acrylic nails, toes, and waxing. I have even moved out of state for two years and did not find a salon compared to UV Nails. I am not an easy client. I'm very specific and very particular. I just read a review about this shop from Jen E., and she couldn't be more incorrect about UV Nails. I've been going to this shop or one of their family shops since 1998. This shop has won "Best in Kent" for several years. All the manicurists are professional and know what they are doing. This is a family owned business and I'm so very proud to go to such an upscale salon. I travel a lot and when I haven't been able to get my nails done at UV nails, I've had my nails done on New York, Chicago and San Francisco, and in each of the shops I've given my business, they've said," Who did your nails? What a great job!" I'll continue to go to UV Nails...they are the best! read more
