I stopped in today for a pedicure. I asked for a white wine. The girl asked which pedicure I was going to get. Curious, I asked if it made a difference? Yes, you have to spend $20.00 more on your pedicure to get approximately $2.00 worth of cheap wine. I've been here before and everyone was able to share in the relaxation of a beverage. How sad that is not still the case. I believe in the principle of practices, so I chose the least expensive pedicure possible. Why spend $20.00 for cheap wine? This leaves $20.00 in my wallet for a nice cocktail, if I choose. The funny part of this is I was going to get a manicure based on how the pedicure was going. Let's just say it's not going well from a management aspect as management sets the rules. I will say that my technician is one of the best I've ever had. She did a great job! read more

They charged me 190 for only the acrylics after they told me it was going to be 190 for all my services, which were a pedicure and full acrylic set. When I got to the register it was over 240 dollars!!!! I don't recommend this place because they don't tell the truth and the acrylic work needs improvement... won't be back. read more

** 5 stars for their service, 1 star for their inconsistency I've always come here for my pedicures and full sets since they first opened. I have always been treated kindly and the service is always good, but lately it has been not up to par. I've come in to get the same short French tip fill, and whenever I get someone that is not Hannah/Jenny, the price always changes. There are times I come in for French tip designs with a few flowers. $120. $140. On their screen it says that fills start at $45, and French tips are $10, deep French tips are $20. At most I should be paying $65 for a short French tip fill, however Johnny always just gouges the rates and today tried charging me $80 for a simple short deep French tip fill. I spoke up this time and they said that I was getting charged $80 because my nail length was "long." Then they changed it to $70 for a $50 base fill, and $20 for "deep French". My fill cost more than my new full set that I got 2.5 weeks ago. I won't be coming here anymore. read more

I got a gel manicure on Friday and it was, hands down, the worst manicure I've ever received. When I got home, even my sister called me out for not saying anything at the salon -- that's how bad it was. I called the salon right away, and they apologized and asked me to come back in. So I went back Sunday morning, only to be placed with the same technician (first red flag). They asked if I wanted the same design, and I said, "Eh, just do a French." Another mistake. The whole process was uncomfortable, and the technician clearly didn't know how to do a proper French tip. The lines are crooked and slanted -- it looks like random streaks across my nails, not a clean French manicure. Then came the icing on the cake: they tried to charge me $37 -- $27 for a soak off (even though I was only there because they messed up!) and another $10 for the French, which was absolutely terrible. Why should I be paying to fix their mistake? I left disappointed twice. Never again. Save your money, your time, and your nails. read more

I originally went in after reviewing a few places on yelp and saw that this was close to where I was. When I first walked in the ambiance was very nice. The lady who did my feet did an excellent job and seems like a very nice person. The lady who did my hands, not so much. Went here since it's so close to home, went here for a manicure and pedicure and left paying $110. I think that's a bit much for a gel manicure and pedicure. I was charged 30 for gel which is fine I guess but I brought my own polish and they still charge me the gel which is crazy to me. The massaging chair didn't even work well. read more

I'm honestly disgusted by my experience here. My friend and I came in for pedicures, and while the final result looked okay, the hygiene practices were incredibly concerning. Both of our nail techs were wearing gloves, but they touched our feet and then scooped sugar scrub from the same shared container--using those same gloves. No spatula, no change of gloves, no attempt at avoiding cross-contamination. That's not sanitary, glove or not. On top of that, the plastic liner in my pedicure bowl kept slipping off. Instead of fixing it, the tech just removed it completely and had me soak my feet directly in the bare bowl. When I asked if the bowl was clean, she told me it was "super clean," but I could literally see debris floating in the water. After my pedicure, she just drained it and popped a new liner in--no cleaning or disinfecting in between. It also looked like they might be reusing things that should definitely be single-use. I walked out feeling really grossed out and uncomfortable. I won't be back, and I hope they take a serious look at their hygiene practices before it becomes a bigger issue for someone's health. read more

The people there are very nice. I went in and my usual person was not there so I had someone different who had experience. I told her my nails are thin. She proceeded to sand the gel off where as my usual person usually soaks a lot of it off and uses a clear bonding on there before repainting my nails. I thought she did as there was a clear polish put on first. I mentioned it many times. Within two days my nails broke and I had to cut them all down. They are really inconsistent with their nail services. Never had any issue with my pedicure. I spent over 150.00 total. Unfortunately I won't be back. read more

I needed to get my nails done for a trip but didn't have time to go to my usual salon in federal way. I always worry going to another salon because I don't want to spend $100 or more on subpar nails. Ann at Honest is AMAZING. The person who did my manicure seemed to be in a bit of a rush so there were a few things I wasn't satisfied with. I asked Ann, who was doing an awesome job at my pedicure, if she could fix one thing on my ring finger and she went the extra mile and fixed every finger. I was so much happier with my manicure after she finished. My pedicure was also great. Clean paint job, long relaxing massage, paraffin wax, the shop itself was very clean and pretty, and refreshments included in the combo package. I'm always worried the manicurist won't be able to file my nail square well. Ann nailed it, pun intended. It was $78 for a mani pedi combo package but I got gel mani which is an extra $15. It's a little pricier than my normal place but I'll definitely come back here for the closer location and for how good Ann is. One downside is that they don't have OPI in stock so if you're an OPI fan, bring your own polish. They have a ton of colors and options besides that. read more

If you are looking for a place to absolutely destroy your nails - this is the place. I requested a new full set. Sat down, the tech drilled my gel polish off and then proceeded to use nail clippers on my acrylic nails. She never thinned the acrylic or did anything to it other than remove the gel. She clipped my acrylic and then used a fake nail tip to remove the entirety of my acrylic off my right pinky nail. I was telling her the entire time I was experiencing pain and she told me to just "keep looking at colors and i wouldn't focus on the pain she was causing". After i told her i was physically in pain from her popping aka ripping my entire pinky fingers acrylic off i said is it not your protocol to soak these off? She said "no but i can soak them if you would prefer". I had them soak off the rest and left. I DID pay for this service as well. $15 despite telling the front desk employee i had been physically injured be the tech. though he did tell me he could "offer me a bandaid". they continually tried to pressure me into "letting them do the full set". I refused to allow them to do anything other than remove the remaining nails by soaking the acrylic off. ALL 5 nails on my right hand (the only one she cut with nail clipped and popped acrylics off with the fake tip on) are completely broken. the left hand isn't looking much better but isn't nearly as bad. my right pink physically hurts to touch and use and the nail is so damaged. i asked repeatedly would it even be safe to put a new acrylic on that nail and was ignored. the customer service here is absolute dog crap and they unsafely remove nails. RUN away from this place. read more

I can swing in, have a manicure/pedicure (at the same time!) and then wander through Kent Station and grab something to eat or do a little shopping. But honestly the BEST thing about Honest Nails Bar is Kelly Kells has such great attention to detail, she's gentle, and makes sure my nails look exactly how I want them to look before she finishes with me. So let me start off by saying I've been coming here on and off since they opened and the service they provide has been hit or miss. I normally don't complain or write reviews but I feel this time it was needed. I came here today around 10-11 am, didn't have to wait at all and was serviced quickly. I believe I had Kim as my pedicurist and Vy as my manicurist. Now I hate writing reviews especially when it comes to the service of the older nail techs but today was soo bad. Now to start off both ladies were very sweet and kind but the quality of the service wasn't great. I don't like to make them feel bad. Anyways I got the combo #3 mani and pedi which I've gotten before and I only do French tips on my natural nails and toes. First off the shaping of my finger nails isn't great at all. I have naturally big square shaped nail beds and my nails are wonky looking. The French tips look horrible they're uneven and looked like I did them myself with some struggle. The layers were also not even with lots of bubbles and gaps. When she filed my nails she didn't even dust off the debris so it got covered under the gel. The pedicure was alright at best. Shape was fine because I don't have the prettiest toes but the French came out wonky on them too, her layers were even though. I feel like for what I was charged I got a bootleg service. This wasn't worth the $153 I spent. I only tipped because I felt bad. I probably won't be coming here for awhile because I was super disappointed. This is legit the worst manicure and pedicure I've ever had. I've head better at cheaper salons but I come here because they're clean and usually the quality and service is worth the price. My husband and I did a walk in on a Sunday afternoon, in which we were greeted and seated right away - that NEVER happens anywhere with me! I'm glad we found this place while driving around Kent, the surrounding area is great for shopping and dining, so there is plenty to do before and after your appointment. The service was great. They offered us beverages, the seats were comfy and they were all so friendly. I only gave this a 4 star, because only because it was a little pricey. Positives: I was able to make a same day appointment. The salon is nicely decorated and is clean overall. Negatives: I requested a new set of french tip acrylics and provided a reference picture which I will attach. As soon as I sat down I caught on that the nail tech was still in training which they didn't tell me. They should have an experienced tech sit with the new person to intervene when they make mistakes. Some examples of what went wrong: she skipped steps such as trimming my natural nails before glueing on the nail tips, used an excessive amount of the acrylic powder which made my nails look all thick like jelly beans, etc. The shape and length is different than what I requested. She made my nails look more like hers (medium/long length, almost stiletto style). I kept trying to correct her but admittedly I ended up giving up. I think this was her first time doing french tips. I'll let the pictures speak for themself. They charged $70. Two other people came to look at the nails when they were done and just laughed and said something to her. I tried to be chill because we all have to learn but in my opinion she should be practicing on herself and on her coworkers. Not paying customers. At the end of it I just gave up because I was tired from work and didn't want to hurt her feelings. Don't be like me LOL!! This place charges way more than their competitors in Kent so the least you can expect is for your nails to look good. read more

I came in on my birthday for a full set. I received a text offering me 10% since it was my birthday and my girlfriend came with me for a pedicure. I asked about the 10% and the guy with glasses at the counter said no we don't offer discount. I said ok.. as my girlfriend is chatting with the lady doing her pedi, and found out it was my bday so she said they offer 10% for bdays. I was confused with both giving me different answers, so I asked the guy again. And he said no we asked the owner. Why tf did I receive a text then? He lied to my face. To top it off, the lady who did my French tip tried charging me extra when I asked her to fix a nail nicely. Not once did they bother saying happy birthday either. They just want your money!!! She didn't cut my cuticles or treat my nail beds before she started applying the nails and when she put the nails on they are so far from my cuticle area.
