I'm so disappointed to say that I will not be returning to blue water. I have gone once a month for years. The owner is so nice and attentive and some of the staff is amazing. However I have been cut badly consistently about every third appointment. Not to mention the hygienist never acknowledges the cut. They keep working while I'm bleeding on the chair. I ask for a bandaid or gauze and they seem annoyed I ask. Not to mention I notice that when I acknowledge the cut their work quality and massage length is greatly affected. I think they assume I will not tip and them just give up. This has happened more than 7+ times. I kept going back because sometimes I would get different hygienists and they are amazing! And the owner is so nice. But I cannot return. I went on December 23rd and I was cut so bad my cuticle was bleeding for 3 days!!! Good luck if you go. Bring your own bandaid. read more

Very cute, modern, clean and free of nail odor! Upon arrival on a weekday afternoon, I noticed this shop is definitely busy. While my friend I waited, we noticed the employees were turning away customers asking them to return later because they were so busy. Plan ahead and schedule your appointment! Located in the QFC shopping area, this shop definitely has a good location for all the shoppers. Waxing and pedicure experience was enjoyable and staff was friendly. I would need a few more visits to get a feel for each technician. I would definitely come back when in the area. I really like the "spa" atmosphere. read more

Well... i walked in with my husband in such a good mood excited to get pampered.. then i asked for a new set of nails his pedicure was amazing as i watched but my nails.. not so much :( So i initially asked for oval set but never specified the length .. well the nail tech chose for me and i had no option anymore and the nail taking off was a little too rough than usual . The nail color was not even matching the image i wanted, the nails i wanted had a strip of gold which she did try but then didn't succeed so she said "im just going to paint over because this strip isn't working i didn't answer and just let her do her thing then she came back with an even pinker darker color and from there i just decided I'd rather let her finish and go get them done elsewhere ... most of the people working there seem nice but don't seem to ask what YOU want . I am so happy here. I get acrylic fills that last a long time. color selection is amazing. staff is friendly and always accommodating.

The first 7 times were an alright experience here. The last three times I have felt like an inconvenience. The service is an average nail salon, however I recommended my sister go here before her wedding. The gentleman who runs things here was FURIOUS we didn't have drinks, when we said we tentatively would have. He was so angry and slammed closed a table, he said he purchased a special banquet license for this. Last time I was here for a wedding party, we could barely drink any champagne. Because of that it really didn't seem worth it to buy food and snacks to have them sit on a table while we get our nails done. Today I came in and was asked what I wanted done. I said I would like a manicure please, and the younger girl awkwardly said oh I don't know , probably don't have time, then started speaking in another language to her colleague. Let's just say the 1 star is only because yelp won't let me put 0.... It was my first time today and the beginning and all the wayyyyy to end was horrible. The water you keep your hands in at the beginning of a manicure should be warm right?! Unless I missed the new update from not going to nail salons for 6 months?! So yehhhh... the water was ice cold... I also had to ask her to file my nails down and buff them or else she wasn't going to do them at all?! The WORST part is she cut my finger and 2 hours later it is STILL bleeding... I'm pretty sure the owner was sitting right next to my salon lady and she didn't offer to comp my nail service or even a discount.... I left the place with a napkin around my finger that I had to ask for. Not recommending this place to ANYONE. read more

This has so far been the best nail salon I have found between Maple Valley, Covington and Kent. They are so nice and do a great job. The salon is very clean as well which is huge. I also appreciate that they are honest with time frames and if they can accommodate you. I have been to other salons where they tell you to take a seat and then make you sit, soaking your feet or in a salon chair, for 20-30 minutes while they finish up other people. So if they are busy and you have to wait they will let you know. Definitely come here! read more

I can not even describe the complete disrespect I was treated like when walking into this nail salon. Yes I was 5 mins late. I hit traffic, my purse was in the backseat and felt it was better to continue driving then stop and get out to call. I walked in and told one technician that I was late and she said don't worry and take a seat. I sat there for 20 mins! Another woman walked in for her appt and someone immediately came to greet her (I never saw this employee as they stayed on the left side of the salon out of sight). When she looked at me, she said I was too late. I said I was told to wait and no one came. Then was told that the tech wasn't in charge and that she was. I was too late so no appt and then ignored me as I was talking to her and walked with the other customer). I definitely told her some F words leaving and will definitely not be back. I came here as a gift from my husband and I liked it. The second time I went I took my daughters and my best friend. I was in love with my girl. I can't remember her name and will have to update this with it but she was OMG amazing. I showed her a picture and she got the unique design spot on! I was so impressed that I will always go here, which is not that close to me, for my toes :) There is two bad seeds here though, watch out for them. One was already named in on of the other review. Her work was sloppy and I had to go back and my girl redid my girl's toes. The gentleman at the front is super nice and the place is really clean and I love the theme. read more

As a tourist from Toronto, I have never experienced such cleanliness, hospitality & quality from a family owned salon such as this. The family /staff are so nice & kind, even the kids. Make an appointment because they get very busy but they were kind enough to take 5 of us in even though we called super last minute , the morning of . The services I got done were the signature pedicure & brow tint, and my cousins did the acrylic nails. Great nail polish selection for both normal and shellac/ acrylics. One of my youngest cousins also got a pedicure and she was only 10$! I can't speak much on prices because the U.S prices for nails tend to be higher than Toronto- however they seem average and have student specials. Everything from the massage chairs to the leg massage were excellent quality & nothing I receive here in Toronto. She did an excellent job on my toes and no pain or discomfort even with sensitive nail beds. It's been 2 weeks and they still look perfect (just regular nail polish too!). They were also fantastic with my youngest cousin and have her a huge bear to sit wit her in the massage chair, so sweet. My cousin got acrylics and they absolutely did a fantastic job, you rarely see this quality for the price. However I wouldn't recommend the brow tint because it listed maybe 40 hours and it was 15$. It was my first time doing a tint at a salon (normally do it myself) and it just wasn't the same. I'd much rather do it myself. Other than that, yes please come here for your nails! read more

FINALLY. A nail salon that....just gets it. I feel bad that nail salons get bad reps because of ONE bad manicurist. Do your research, ask around, there's always a lead manicurist who knows what she's doing, like Trina. I'm extremely picky w/ my nails and Trina satisfied all my needs! Shape was perfect!! Every visit you "login" to their iPad and it earns you points towards money off your next service. You can use them as you get them, or save up! I almost took one star off for their price range. Everyone was very nice, the decor and layout are much more spa-like than most places, and it is so CLEAN!!! The Maple Valley location is tucked away in an older shopping center, but it feels more modern inside than any nail salon I have been to. No dated posters of women's hands or tattered magazines strewn about here... you can tell that the owners, management, and the technicians care about the overall experience. I've been coming here for a while with my mom and I brought my best friend here too. It was great...however recently I've been so disappointed. I get shellac fills and recently my nails have been separating from the acrylic within a week, they usually last at least two. The last two times I've come in, the girl who did my nails nicked my skin and then got mad at me for not "relaxing my hand". Kind of hard to relax when you're holding my hand literally upside down. The other issue that keeps arising is appointment times. I always make an appointment and the last three times I've come here I've had to wait 15 to 20 min AFTER my appointment time for them to see me. Like right now for example. I'm writing this review sitting here, at 2:30 PM still waiting for them to take me for my 2:00 PM appointment. I think my time at Bluewater is done which is sad because I really liked it here. I'm editing this review because I finally got to sit and have my appointment where once again I was nicked and actually bled this time. I don't want to bleed when I get my nails done. And the worst part was she laughed at me when I said ouch and didn't even say sorry. Nope. Goodbye. read more

I had a shellac manicure. The gal did an OK job. The polish lasted almost 2 weeks. It was $5.00 more than I usually pay. I was amazed at how rude the gal doing my nails was. Twice she told me to relax my thumbs or she could not do my manicure. I told her if I was any more relaxed I would be asleep and then she took her hand and made a gesture of a stiff hand in a sarcastic way. When I asked her how I activated the dryer (putting my hand inside did not turn the dryer on) she told me she would only show me once and turned the dryer over to show me where I needed to put my fingers. Then she proceeded to tell me my nails were too thin and I need to put some vitamins on them and not put polish on them for 3 months. While she did my nails she answered every phone call that came in and checked out every person as they paid and left. This manicure went on forever. It was all I could do not to get up and walk out. So I walked in on Thursday afternoon, never been here before but read good reviews. I needed a shellac fill. They told me to pick a color from their nail samples and I ended up picking one that involved powder. Before I continue I should probably make sure you know that they were not busy at all. When I walked in there were for girls in the front sitting at a desk chatting it up. I think there were one or two customers in the back getting pedicures. When I asked for this particular color it was like I asked for gold nails, they made it seem like it was difficult to do and immediately said $7 more. Ok fine, I thought I would splurge, was going to a two day event and wanted to get my nails done really pretty. So she starts doing my nails and through the process a few more walk-ins come and they start to get a little busier. At this point she has started painting my nails, and is now most definitely rushing. She finishes up the paint an powder and then checks me out. My total was $42 plus I have her a $5 tip, which totals $47. That's an almost $50 nail fill. Shock has just set in! I start walking out to my car and am thinking to myself that maybe the powder is extra fancy and you have to pay to have the trendy nails. Then I get to my car and start to notice all the spots that she didn't get covered with the powder. That's when the disappointment sets in. Like dang, just paid an awful lot of money for a pretty shotty paint job. Whatever, lesson learned, at least it's not horribly noticeable to others. Then about 5:00pm yesterday which is the next day, I notice a chip. My almost $50 FILL is now chipped!!!! At this point I'm no longer disappointed I'm pissed. I could've went to a different salon, had designs on all nails and shellac for less than that and it stay on for 3 weeks. I would recommend that they 1. Get better lighting so they can see how they are painting/powdering. 2. When you know you have a new customer(which I told them) make sure you do their nails properly and don't rush when others walk-in, so you don't get reviews like this. And 3. Don't over charge for sub-par service/work. I will not recommend anyone I know here. I myself will also not return. The only reason I have it two stars is because it's clean. read more

My daughter and I decided to try a new place for pedicures but I'm pretty disappointed. We made an appointment and got there on time but they took us back 20 minutes after our appointment time. I decided to go with the most basic pedi which is the average cost of most pedis in the area but it's basically a nail clip and polish change. Most places for this cost include a sugar leg scrub and moisturizer. The technician seemed rushed and unfriendly and cut me multiple time. I was trying to be patient but even when I said something about it she said nothing and cut me again. Not going back. It was a clean and cute place. read more

They charge quite a bit for a shellac fill - so my expectation for this place is higher, but now the quality of the work is growing poorer and poorer. Not good. Gotta wonder why employees aren't staying. . . which is also equating to poor quality work as they process new girl after new girl through their customers. I really like the owner and his wife - but they need to do something QUICK before they start losing customers by the carload! I've got one foot out the door. While this is a very aesthetically pleasing salon, I've not had good experiences with it unfortunately. Last summer I went to get a pedi for a trip (which I never do, I always do them myself) and wound up getting toenail fungus due to lack of clean products and utensils. Now I never want to go anywhere to get a pedi because I'm stuck treating my toes daily, plus it takes months for it to heal. They also cut my sister and friend's cuticle too short to where it started bleeding and laughed on both occasions when they exclaimed it hurt. While it may have been a nervous laugh, it still is not ok to laugh at all. I had also tried to walk in to see if they had time for a mani once, and a little boy greeted me and my friend. After waiting too long, we decided to head out. Once we were almost to our car, the little boy was running up to us to try to get us in. It seemed inappropriate for him to have been sent after us in a parking lot to get us to stay. Definitely made myself and my friend uncomfortable. I certainly won't be coming here again. read more

The older woman that gave me a pedicure was very rude and obviously did not like her job. The worst part was she used a technique that looked like a cheese shredder! She tore my heal up and it bleed. She then told me to put that bleeding foot back in the soaking water while she looked fir a towel and bandaid.!This pedi was before my son's wedding where I was wearing heels.
