Went in for a manicure and pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure was great and she did a phenomenal job, but the lady who did my manicure did a terrible job and didn't listen to what I wanted. I asked for a new acrylic set and she kept saying builder gel even after I said I had acrylic previously and wanted that again. On top of that she did my nails on a pillow on my lap while I was getting my pedicure done and it was very overwhelming. I was the only person there so I'm not sure why there was a need to rush. My nails are crooked, the paint job isn't the best and the lady flooded my cuticles with builder gel. Terrible place to go to for lash extension. Don't go to Tina. My wife told her that she wants short lashes, classic and natural looking but she put a really thick lashes and a thick glue that is very noticeable and funny looking. She also did her nails during that time and I thought it was weird that 3 staff took turns working on her nails. My wife called Tina and left a message asking if she could get her lashes removed but she never responded. Another lady sitting next to her that complained about her pedicure. I did not make an appointment, but the sign said "Walk-ins welcome". I thought I'd take a chance and get a mani/pedi and brow wax. A wax was able to happen, albeit quick with pain/red eyelid skin. My past experiences in other shoppes have not had this occurrence. As soon as my wax was done, I was told a mani could be given as well. Not a lot of friendly chatter and the mani was quickly done. I didn't feel like a lot of attention was given, a bit of an un-even nail trim, and a lack-lustre hand massage. Went in with a friend for pedicures, we made an appointment ahead of time. There were only 2 other customers but I waited almost 20 minutes for someone to come work on me. My friend was almost done by the time my pedicure got started. The nail tech was friendly but did a really half assed job, at one point she was poking at my cuticles with one hand while doing something else. The "hot stone massage" included in the price consisted of her rubbing a rock on each of my legs for 10 seconds. They don't sanitize the cheese grater thing they use for exfoliation. Here's why I gave them one star. Terrible Customer Service as it relates to price transparency and customer interactions. The sign on the wall said Shellac Pedicure $40and up. I received a basic (no extras) shellac pedicure and was charged $45. After respectfully asking why I was being charged the extra $5 (happy to pay it if I said yes to an extra service and didn't realize it). I was told "because that's why the sign says and up". WTF?.... I guess now we just charge people extra, with no explanation and expect them to pay it. Sorry, in this day and age where everything is going up in price, it's not only legally required to charge people what your advertised price is. It's just good business! To stand at the counter and argue with me about why I should pay extra with no justification, is insulting and disrespectful. It's not about the money! It's the principle of doing right by people (especially in this economy). And realizing when you you're wrong. Do better! Consumers deserve transparency and respect. Ruby nails is not the closest place to my house- there's probably 5-10 closer but it is great! I asked for a design the last time I was in and they took their time and did a lovely job. When I went to get the gel polish removed a few weeks later (since it lasted so long) they were very friendly and did an excellent job removing the polish- which can sometimes be damaging to the nails- but they made sure to buff them gently! Worst nail salon in the area, hands down. To just start, today they charged me $50 for a fill... kind of pricey I thought but I tipped well and left even though the woman didn't listen at all to what I said and did what she wanted. I called back 30 minutes later thinking about it and she tells me a fill is $40.... So did she just assume I wasn't going to tip and overcharged me? Because I didn't get anything special. I called back and they came up with excuses about trimming my nails which is what they always do every two weeks! I want to cry thinking about the fact I just left and tipped this woman $20 to do my nails that I didn't like but didnt want to say anything because I work service industry and Know what it's like... just to get ripped off by her because she thought I looked like someone who wouldn't tip. I'm sure that's why she stalled on my appointment and she made me wait 20 minutes post appointment time while she chatted with another customer. Never mind the job she did, absolutely horrible- paint on my skin- square shape when I always get coffin- acrylic put far too high (so bad for your nail beds) and entirely uneven and ugly with an ugly sparkley coat I never asked for! And this is my second horrible experience here. They can't do designs... they can't shape well (I asked for coffin and got square) and apparently they rip you off. I'm literally never someone to complain but this place is THAT bad. Please do yourself a favor and walk across the parking lot because Star does a 100x better job for less. I should have waited for them to fit me in. Lesson learned. I WISH I had a picture of the design they attempted last time, I wanted to cry the hearts looked SO phallic and sloppy. read more

I went here for a dip and shellac pedicure. Not only did I get over charged. The lady that did my manicure rushed through so fast many of my nails are different lengths and shapes. Halfway of putting on my tips they tell my friend hers are going to be $150 for French tips with long nails and mine were going to be $110 just for a simple design. I told them I've had the same design and paid $65. They were basically making up prices for the lengths... they all looked confused when trynna figure out how to price our nails and then those ended up being the totals. After we said we didn't want them anymore they started grabbing stuff aggressively and seemed to be mad that we were leaving then started laughing. If I could give this place negative star I would. I went in to get my lashes done and booked my appointment for a volume set, when I asked how much I was quoted $90 for mink lashes on the phone. At my arrival the lady working there asked me what set I wanted and I said I made my appointment for a volume, she than goes to tell me a volume set is $120. After some back n forth I decided to just move forward with a hybrid which was $90. I reconfirmed with her if she was doing mink or synthetic, stated mink but wasn't confident in her response. My appointment was at 3:30pm and she started doing my lashes at around 3:40 and was done by 4:15. I've gotten my lashes done a dozen times over a course of 4/5 years, I know how long it should take to get a brand new set. After my lashes were done I could tell they weren't mink because they felt heavy and felt plastic like to the touch and not soft like mink. I told her I was unhappy and asked her yet again if they were mink and than goes to tell me they don't do mink but than makes a comment of the lashes being a blend? I can tell that she's getting extremely frustrated. She calls someone on her cell phone and hands me the phone and tells me to talk to them, I have not idea what's going on and I ask her who does she want me to talk to and she said I made the appointment with her. I go on to tell the person on the phone my experience and when I'm done they both start talking loudly on the phone in some other language, very unprofessional. Than the lady who did my lashes starts yelling at me that she never said the volume set was $120, I ask her why she's yelling at me and that she did state volume was $120 and that these were mink lashes but lied. I than tell her how unsatisfied I am and would like the lashes removed. She continues yelling on the phone while I lay there and puts some solution in my eyes and walks away. Whatever solution she put in my eyes starts burn my eyes and so I abruptly get up to ease the pain. The lady comes back and starts scraping the eye lashes off but they aren't coming off easily, I tell her that my eyes burn and it's really painful. She tells me that's what happens when you get your lashes done and than immediately get them removed, I can't tell you how traumatizing this experience was for me. I'm not trying to be dramatic but when I was laying there and felt the burning sensation in my eyes I thought I was gonna go blind. Stay away from this place!!!! Also, when I got home and looked at my lashes I had so much glue stuck to my real lashes it took me forever to clean them and in the process ended up ripping some of my real lashes. read more
