2 stars because my pedicure was decent. All of the tools were previously used and not disinfected in between clients. I watched my mail lady go from my pedicure to the next with the same implements. That alone gives me reason to never come back. My manicure was bad! Not just bad shaping but polish left over on my fingers. The manicurist was hesitant to go all the way to the cuticle so i was left with what looks like a grown out manicure. If you choose to come here, ask them to sanitize their tools before starting in your service. read more

Popped in for a mani/pedi after my BFF picked me up from the airport. Silver is small and quiet, but very clean and I appreciated how calm it was. The pedi was with the spa-chair treatment, including a nice paraffin soak. My feet feel like butter! My BFF got gel polish on her toes. Silver just got new gel colors and she was thrilled! I had gel polish on my fingers. First off, I love the creative combo of colors. But more than that I really liked the guy who worked on my hands! And I'm a dope for not getting his name. He had an unassuming manner, yet engaged me in pleasant conversation. Our children are similar in age and it we could really relate to each other. Best off, he gave me some insight in how to better care for my mother-in-law. Totally random, but I really appreciated this nugget of knowledge while getting my nails done. Stopped in because they were open on Sunday. I had a mani and pedi and I would rate it okay. Probably the fastest pedicure I've ever had, I'm not sure she was even looking at my cuticles as she attempted to clip them. Just very rushed and no attention to quality. I had to ask for her to use the foot file on the only callus I actually had, she completely missed it. When I arrived I was checking the water temperature coming into my basin and the entire area surrounding the spout was filled with dirt, dust and nail clippings. My pedicure looks fine, so I'm saying this was okay, but I would only come back as a last resort. read more

Went here because the reviews looked good and pricing seemed decent. Brought my mom for her and I to get pedicures only. They give you a menu to choose what type of services you would like. We both chose a simple pedicure with paraffin wax . I did do the shellac polish on my toes as it typically will last me at least 2 months if I wanted to wait that long between pedicures. First, the relaxation part of why I get pedicures (where they rub your calf and then put wax on then lotion, then paint . She first put the wax on and off in less than 4 mins. Not enough to even enjoy it and relax. Then she painted my toes and did the shellac, and after just put lotion on my legs (nothing relaxing just slapped some lotion on my calves). My mom did regular polish, and the wax and that was it, basic pedicure. When it was all done the total came to $100.00 (for 2 basic pedicures with 1 shellac, that costs a little more I know). To top it off, the shellac polish came off in less than 3 weeks!!!!!! I do not do anything that causes polish to come off fast, I can do my own nails with regular polish and it will last more than 3 weeks!!! Do not recommend!! Too expensive for nothing special and it doesn't last!!!!! read more

i went here for a fill today and they asked if i wanted my toes done too and i told them i only had $70 to spend and they said that was fine then they asked what i wanted and i said white toes and coffin shaped french tips on my hands (i attached a picture of what i asked for vs. what i got) and they put gel on both and didn't give me the shape i asked for. they are extremely wide and thick and whenever i asked her to fix the shape she complained that it was too much work and then they proceeded to charge me $140. i am so upset and will not be returning. i felt very taken advantage of and understand now why they had no wait and the salon was empty. if i could give less then one star i would. read more

Highly disappointed. The guy who did my nails rushed through and for the $45 I spent on a manicure and pedicure (plus tip) I would've hoped for a better job. My "manicure" consisted of the things that would normally come with a polish change (filed my nails and buffed then painted) the lady next to me also got a way different pedicure than me. I could've painted my nails this good for free. Once he was done, he didn't come back to put my shoes on or check on my nails. The quality of service just isn't what you pay for. Also the way he was talking to the customers was highly disrespectful and rude, in fact when I went back to get my nail fixed people were leaving because of it. read more

I went in to get a mani pedi and left with an average pedicure and bleeding fingers. I wanted a powder manicure and it was clear that they didn't know what they were doing. I questioned them multiple times and was told it was normal and would look fine. In the end the nails were extremely thick and didn't go anywhere near my cuticles. I said I wanted them taken off and they blamed my short nails for the look. I still wanted them off because they were hideous. She had put 6+ layers of powder on so it took forever to come off. In the end I was left with sore fingers and bleeding cuticles. I would find another place to go if I was you. read more

While I was still a die-hard Covington Nails customer (you can see my review on them), Silver Nails and quite a few other new nail salons popped up in the area. I did go to Silver once before in the early days, but don't really remember my experience, so this review will be on my last two experiences there. The staff is VERY nice. They remember their regular clients by name and that is something that matters to me. I first went in for a mani/pedi the day before surgery with my Mother and we both had a good experience. A typical pedicure, massaging chair, paraffin dip, etc. My manicure was started during my pedicure which I was not pleased with, but as walk-ins, I guess they needed to do that for time. I had a total of 3 girls work on me, which means I had to triple the tip, also not too happy about that, but I don't want to stiff anyone out of a tip. The overall work was good. It was pampering and nice. I did not receive the leg massage my Mother and the other women did. I did get an extremely long hand/arm massage once I tipped 3 ways. I thought that was a little odd. My second trip was with some friends. We had called ahead to make an appointment. I was left waiting for 15 minutes as they took walk-ins before me. I did not get to sit next to my friends as they placed the walk-in between us on the pedi chairs. Again- 3 worker and I had to tip a total of three times. I didn't get to relax while I had my pedi and they were working on my hands at the same time. I would suggest that others give this shop a try. I don't know if it is just me, because my friends had their manicures done at a station, the walk-in did as well (all with the same person, so no increased tip and please don't think I'm complaining about tipping, but tipping as much as the service cost is absurd). Some people seem to have decent luck and Silver does good work, it's just not for me. read more

I went in for a shellac manicure and pedicure, asked if they had time, was assured they did and sat in a chair and was told I'd be started in a few minutes. Another woman walked in 5 minutes after me, asked if they had time, and was helped right away. This was very upsetting as I felt uncomfortable and wanted to say something but didn't want to cause a scene. With no appointment it should be first come first serve, but not here. read more

I've been going to this nail salon since it opened, around 7 years ago. A few of my friends and coworkers also come to this place often. They haven't always had the best colors, but the customer service and personal touch that went into my services always exceeded my expectations and made for the experience. I was also really close with the owners and their brother whom was one of the technicians that worked most days. Within the past 6 months, Apparently the owners sold the shop to their cousin. Having received shitty service the past three times of going, I have decided to seek out a new salon. Jasmine is the only technician that I prefer doing my nails because she does a perfect job every time, and she is very good at noticing a mistake and going back and fixing it without me having to say anything. Her English is also fairly strong, so most people tend to book appointments with her directly. She's been completely booked every time I've gone in since the recent change in management. So having just gotten of from work, I went in to get a fill, and the new owner took it upon himself to have me come to his chair. When he got to the point of filing, he began using the electric filer to do the shape ? And he filed down way to far and completely disfigured one of my nails before I stopped him and asked him to use the hand file. Without purposing a way of fixing that nail, he continued with my set with an attitude. At this point, I suggested that I wait for jasmine, and he insisted that he was qualified to do it for me because "he's owned another salon" and knows how to do it. Long story short, He ruined my whole set. And never managed to get the shape that I actually wanted. This has happened TWICE now. An additional time with the new owner, and the second time with a new technician that is taking jasmines place. Jasmine now only works 2 days a week (I'm assuming this is because she has all the clientele she can manage now). So yeah.... Save yourself a bad experience, and go elsewhere... read more

Been going here for 9+ years. Old owners are very good friends of ours and they sold to their cousins who are horrible. We went in yesterday and got pedis and my wife pushed out her Mani cause it was busy out of respect. Showed up today to be treated like crap owner telling my wife to go else where. For acrylic to be put on NY wife's toes to prevent ingrown nails and made my wife cry by being nasty. Not happy will never go back. read more

I've been getting my nails and toes done consistently for about 6 years, and have been going here for about a year and a half now. I have never had better customer service, the staff always remembers my name and they greet you immediately when you get there. I had "fired" my last salon a year ago and have been "interviewing" salons ever since. My priorities include hours (I work mass amounts of overtime and need a salon to accommodate walk-ins), does the work last a month excluding grow out, nail color selection (do they offer nail chips-- you can't possibly tell how the color will look from the bottle), and are they adequately staffed. Price is not a priority although I expect consistency. I prefer to avoid the lowest price one to avoid the high schoolers, etc and the wait. I've been to several salons in the meantime. Here's what I experienced. I get acrylic fills and gel polish. Twice the polish chipped before the end of the week. Once the polish bubbled-- not long enough under the lamp. At two locations I was asked to return after an hour. One was insanely busy, so I understood, the other only had one employee. Another seemed to take appointments primarily although they fit me in. The clientele seemed to all be acquaintances meaning they probably fill up that appointment slot all the time. The nail job was poor anyway. The color was not even (too light a coat). I've since made sure these problems don't occur insisting on longer cure times, inspecting the nail, etc. And I would be argued with. So what made Silver so good? They were staffed with three on a Sunday so I was seated right away. The salon was quiet except for gentle music and the soft talk of the customers that knew each other. He was very gentle and even used sanding bits I hadn't seen before. Seemed to be silicone for smoothing. Previous salons kept missing a spot on my thumb and just painted over it-- I had a light colored polish once and could see it. He was meticulous, removing all old color. He matched finger to finger for the correct length. He inspected the acrylic, and later the polish, and touched up. And best of all, the LED lights had no hand bed. This is what sold me. I always wondered why the health department hadn't mandated this. It's gross to stick your hand into the sticky/ gritty/ dried sweat/ dead skin light bed. At Silver, you rested your hand on a clean towel under the light. He did not sand the nail edges at the end. He didn't have to. He was so careful, there was no over polish. I always felt the sanding caused a weakening of the edge increasing it's chance of splitting. Why didn't I give Silver a 5? Nail color selection. Some nail chips, but not a lot. I will probably bring in my own color. Which is fine. I'm an avid online shopper (have to be because of overtime). I have nearly a hundred mail folders that email alerts populate into from favorite businesses. There's always a coupon running that I get extra discounts and sometimes no sales tax and no shipping charges. So I guess this is the least of my priorities. read more

The salon is a bit small but clean and the staff was very friendly. Rose did my manicure and knocked it out of the park. She was so sweet and my nails come out perfect. My friend and I arrived at the Salon around 7 to get our nails done. There were two stylists in the store and two other customers. We were not greeted and waited for fifteen minutes before being addressed by either associate at all. She asked my friend what she wanted but said nothing to me. My friend was helped shortly afterwards, I on the other hand sat there for another 20 minutes after my friend was helped. At this point, neither associate had even acknowledged that I was in the store. When my friends full acrylic set (which takes some time) was almost complete, the second associate finished with her customer. Instead of starting on me, she began to get her stuff to go home. It was at this point that I was finally acknowledged by someone working at the salon-the stylist who was helping my friend. She asked me if I was planning to get something done as well. I was a little taken back by the question considering my friend and I had had a conversation about our color choices RIGHT next to her while she was doing my friend's nails, but replied that yes, I was planning on getting my nails done, a mani-pedi combo. The associate who was helping my friend looked expectantly over at her co-worker, who then told me she wouldn't be able to give me a mani-pedi combo because I had come in too late and she had to get her young son (who had been loudly watching kids movies on an ipad the whole time we were in the store) home. I told her that my friend and I had come in at the same time and they had managed to help my friend even though I had been waiting the whole time (I had been waiting an hour at this point I must add.) She then said that my friend or I should have said something if I had planned to have something done. Both my friend and I work in customer service, and both pointed out that as associates they should have connected with me to ask me such questions regarding service, and in any event in the time I was waiting my friend and I both debated over what colors to get, talked about another customer about what we planned on doing and even asked the woman who was doing my friend's nails if it was alright if I used their restroom while I waited for my turn. After this was pointed out, the second associate said that she still wouldn't be able to do a mani-pedi, but that she might be able to just do my hands. No. She then asked if I would just want a quick color change. No. I want the service I originally planned on paying for, not what you think you can squeeze in on your own convenience. She then asked if I would be willing to come back the next day if she gave me a coupon, and I told her no, that I would be going somewhere else tomorrow. I've been getting shellac manicures for a while now, and I'm trying all the salons in the area to find the one I want to go to regularly. So far, this is the best place for shellac! I didn't have a pedi, so I can't say anything about that. The place was simple, clean, nothing fancy and not overly busy. I don't need a fancy new place to go to though, as long as it's clean, welcoming and they do a good job for a reasonable price, I'm happy. And that's just what I experienced here! Do yourself a favor and don't ever come here. I walked in here and was glad to see an empty waiting area, but shortly after I sat down to get my fill I found out why. I showed the man that was going to be working on my nails a picture of what I wanted and he said he could do it for $22, so I grabbed the colors I wanted (after being rudely asked why I would even want them in the first place) and he began doing my fill. That part was ok I guess, but as soon as he began painting I could tell I wasn't going to be pleased. I picked out a neutral tone and he thought one spotty thin coat was enough, I told him I wanted more and he questioned me once again on how I wanted my nails. He then began applying a purple to the ends which was also spotty and no where close to even on any of the nails, but I was hoping the little black bow I wanted was going to even them out.. It didn't.. Some looked like ovals some looked like squares, and the definitely didn't look like bows, then he put a clear coat on and smudged some of them, it was ugly and I told him that. He said okay I'll take two dollars off for you, I told him I wasn't happy and was surprised that was the best he could do. So I made him call out the manager for me and told her I was unhappy, she said there's nothing they can do. While she's saying that he's yelling over her that he did a good job and he liked it a lot and that he would charge $25 for other customers not me he already discounted it and he would only take more off if I was a student (I am a student still in high school not even 18 and was yelled at for apparently telling him I was in college) I told the manager that he told me $22 for the fill and design and that only $2 off was a little ridiculous for the way he was treating me. So he then threw $5 at me and stormed out of the building. She took the polish off my nails and put a clear coat on told me about five times that people ask for him all the time. That honestly doesn't matter to me, if you can't paint nails then you can't paint nails. Yeah sure you say you're a professional, but no professional would almost have a customer in tears because they weren't happy with what you promised to do for them. I will never go back here and I'm very disappointed that I now have to go pay for another place to do my nails.
