What could go wrong? Sadly, everything. Twice. I dropped off my own Astrobright paper (Teal) and a sample of my desired finished product. A tri-folded, printed sheet of teal paper. It's my annual new year's card. I asked for 175 copies, giving them 200+ sheets of paper I special ordered. Upon pick up, I find 250 sheets sloppily folded, corners not matched up, with nothing printed on them. The clerk who took the original order looked at me quizzically. He at first blamed me for not telling him I wanted them printed. I showed him the sample, which they'd kept. Remember this? He didn't seem to. Net net, they screwed up. Offered to re-do. Which I accepted, for same day pick up. Fast forward... 5:30p.... they printed the correct message, but on the WRONG color, and the folds were neat but folded inward, again, not matching the sample I had left. They didn't charge for either mess-up, but I'd wasted so much time on this place. Their print manager had even called me to confirm before the re-do. He didn't bother to say the color would not match. And he didn't check the fold on the sample. What could go wrong? EVERYTHING TWICE. Staples LaQuinta? Never again. read more

Since ditching Amazon, I've decided to shop locally in person for all our household needs. I used to get all my office supplies and related items on Amazon which was super convenient, but it is more important to me now to consciously use my spending dollars to go towards ethical companies. And in doing my research, Staples maintains DEI practices which I very much support. We recently purchased a microphone headset from Staples and was easily able to find the product we needed as the layout of the store was easy to navigate. There was virtually no one shopping in the store on a Saturday, which perhaps is normal, but I'm hoping that more people begin to shop in person as we are. Yesterday we did a rare Amazon return, which was to be dropped off at this Staples. The process was super fast and easy; I just handed all the parts over in a bag with the QR code and was handed back a receipt. It took about 1 minute. Very disappointing experience, I'd go to FedEx. I tried submitting a print request online, after I logged in and built my job and put it into the cart, I tried to check out and it asked for my login/password again and said I was an unknown user. I tried 3 different web browsers, same thing. So I brought the file in-person to this location. The clerk (Stephanie) who needs customer service training, kept trying to up-sell me and she told me there was no difference in price after I specifically asked (it was $135 online). This morning I showed up to pick it up and there was no record of my request in the system; however, it was printed but incomplete (not folded) and $198. I had a screen shot of my pricing, but the manager said he'd give me 20% off and when I pointed out it wasn't folded he wanted to charge me for that. I can't fault the in-store team for the issue with the online system, however I felt I was being shafted for the huge price difference and not being informed of the price differential between in-person vs online. I was a bit panicked when my iPhone began to fail right before I boarded my flight from the east coast. By the time I landed in Palm Springs that evening the phone wouldn't take a charge and kept restarting. After a hair raising non-gps trip to my hotel (I got stuck in a convoy of about 25 semi's...not fun.) with visions of how I was going to manage for the next five days including flying home, I went to sleep. The next morning a computer savvy friend and I tried to make an appt with Apple or Best Buy with very little luck so we decided to show up at Best Buy right when they opened. Suffice it to say we got the bum's rush out, leaving with zero helpful information. As we wandered to our car (with me trying to to feel overwhelmed) my friend Helen remembered another friend had gotten help with her phone at Staples so off we went. We walked into the store and were immediately directed to the amazing, compassionate Edna. Edna quickly determined it was a battery issue that they could fix quickly. Enter Jorge! Knowledgeable and kind, Jorge got the battery replaced quickly, and with a hug for both Edna and Jorge, Helen and I were on our way! Crisis averted. We did return to the store a date later because the battery health didn't reset. Jorge and Edna couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. They had my phone fixed up in a flash! Staples, you have two absolute gems in Edna and Jorge. Thank you so much to you both! (I almost cried again writing this.) We have been wanting a 4 drawer file cabinet for some time and noticed Staples had one on sale. We went and looked at it and it was a very good price with great quality. Bought it, but when we got home we noticed it was damaged. So, we drove back to exchange it, but the other on sale, in stock cabinet was also damaged. (They opened the box to check while we were there to make sure the next one was not damaged.) After that, Joshua found one that was not damaged, but a different color than we had planned on getting. He gave us a nice discount for our trouble with the 1st damaged file cabinet and we couldn't have been happier. Wow, customer service like it's supposed to be!! Went to the print counter on Saturday around 6, needed to have three items printed. As I walked in I noticed the print area was clear of customers but there was an associate there, Stephanie. As I walk up to the area I noticed her back was turned (as if she was on her phone because she was facing a wall) regardless, I walk up and put my purse down on the counter. She took sometime and then finally noticed me, she walks up no greeting just a look on her face as if I disturbed her. I told her i was interested in printing three things. She pointed to a stamp near by and said you can send the images there. So I do as she mentioned because I normally do that when I visit the Palm Springs Location. I send the images and she says when do you want to pick these up, I said now if possible. She said well that can't be done but I can do it for Morning pick up, unless you want To do self print. I needed a print on card stock so I figure what the heck if all else fails I'll drive the 15min to pick them up. Then she says oh I see you want 2 5X7's are you going to cut that? I said, no usually the PS office does that for me. She said well I can do it for you but it's $3/cut and that will need 6 cuts per page ((yikes $18 per page to cut))! I simply said never mind can you cancel that, and left. This kind of customer service drives me away, luckily there was an OfficeMax near by that got me my images printed and cut within 40 min! Don't waste you time at this location, especially if you have something you need printed. read more
