The man behind the counter was the rudest customer service representative I have ever encountered. I ordered from Amazon and this was a store that I should have been able to receive my package and pick up the package without any cost. Well first time I have ever been told no you can't have your package unless you have an account with us. It costs $3.00 to open an account and $5.00 to give you your package !!!! $8.00 for a ONE TIME probably never going to use this service ever again as I am a full time RVER and I travel most likely would not be back here in Palm Desert California for years. I have had packages delivered to other postal annex stores and no one has ever told me to pay to pick up a package especially since Amazon lists this store as a business to use for delivery. No mention that there would be a charge to pick it up. Plus his attitude was he was doing me a favor to let me breathe his air in his store. People like him should not be in business that serves the public. Avoid this place like the plague it stinks I hope this review makes 10000 people give the business to some other store. Now I have to wait to get a refund IF he even returns the package as I instructed him to. The owner has a valid point I was under a false assumption that this store was like all the other drop off stores that amazon tells me is a place where I can pick up a package free from any fee. If I came back to your store and you allowed me to pick up the package without having to open an account I will most definitely revise my elite review. Waited 20 minutes for a notary. He just kept taking people in line as if it were ever going to fully clear- when I walked in there was 1 customer being waited on by somebody else, he printed my form and told me to sit for a few minutes. Travis, the employee who just took new photos for our upcoming trip to New Zealand, did a GREAT job of taking the digital images to the exacting requirements for a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA), and placing them on our zip drive for downloading onto our applications at home! I can't understand these low ratings at all. I have received outstanding service, in a professional and kind manner, from every employee for a decade! This location is under new ownership, but honestly, as a Sun City Palm Desert resident, I have used this location for 10 years to ship items both large and small, and return countless Amazon items (there is a nominal charge if you bring Amazon returns that are not sealed and ready for shipment). read more

Package Never Made it into FedEx Stream. So, we dropped off a parcel for FedEx. It had a prepaid Fedex label, so all we got was a receipt of acceptance by Postal Annex. Four days later, the tracking number still didn't show any movement. Last known location was Postal Annex. FedEx claims they never got the package.... FedEx blames PostalAnnex. Meanwhile, where's my stuff? I don't see wanting to use Postal Annex anytime soon - not if they keep (or lose) packages. read more

Do not ship from here. Staff is not trained properly and management does not take any accountability whatsoever. I shipped my husbands identifications and paid expedited shipping costs over $70. I showed the address on my phone to the clerk and asked multiple times if that would be okay to ship to. The package was returned and I was also charged a $15 return fee in order to pick the package up. The manager gaslighted me saying I knew what I signed for and yelled at me over the phone. I had already been to UPS where they said the package was not going to be deliverable due to the address, so I walked in and a guy by the name of Leo thanked me for my patience as I waited and we went over some options and he was able to mail my package. He actually tried to give me a lower price doing it through the mail service but I chose to do FedEx. I've been tracking the package and so far it is almost at its destination. I would definitely come back here, the staff seems very helpful but my only critique would be that they are allowing too many customers to get way closer than 6 feet and a lot of the customers are crossing that boundary and getting right in the cashiers face. I like this place a lot! Employees were great. Prices were reasonable. I think they need to be stricter with customersThat are not being socially distant. read more

I only ship a few times a year and have used this location several times in the past 3 years. Never again, I will drive anywhere else. "Crystal" is a helpful shipping assistant that constantly lectures the clients, attempts to up-sell the store products, and corrects you when you say anything. (She must be the long term employee that others have spoken about in other poor reviews.) Employees work slowly, charge about 20% more than the post office and other UPS locations, and micro-manage events and people in their store. Perhaps they think this is appropriate during these covid-times, but it can and has been done much better at many other small, family-owned establishments. The team at this PostalAnnex - Dela, Vanessa, Leo, et al - were great. Even with a long line, they were caring with the older folks on canes in line, taking packages up front to wait for their turn, so they didn't have to hold them. Vanessa likely holds the record in packaging and boxing speed / efficiency / quantity fitted into any size box. Can't beat friendliness AND efficiency in a place, especially the week before Christmas. Dela gave me options on shipping as well as pros and cons (my stuff wasn't Christmas-related, so pricing vs time of shipping vs tracking vs guarantee), etc. etc. Can't say enough good things about this team. read more

I wish I could give this crappy Postal Annex a -5 stars because at 8:30am the incredibly rude and stupid young girl with dark hair was not doing anything and we approached with a smile and a good morning and we said we would like to get a P.O. Box and the stupid girl proceeds to YELL at us that "I won't be dealing with that until sometime after 9, GO AWAY and come back LATER!!!!" I can't believe how ridiculously rude and aggressive she was. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM DOING BUSINESS AT THIS PLACE. I always seem to have odd unique problems with things like printing encrypted files that I can't seem to open, or needing to scan and email important docs that need to get somewhere right away. Been here twice, both times terrible experience, waited in line 20 minutes, finally made it to the front, another 7 people behind me , wanted to get some papers notarized, and told me that I have to wait until they help the other people/ Americans behind me to cut the line down, about another 15 min or so they said even though I waited in line like everyone else. Don't let those unkind reviews stop you from using this postal annex. The parking is ample, both in front and side of the building. Busy during high season but never dangerous. (Try driving in Italy). I was courteously helped by the "surly, heavy set and lazy" girl described in an earlier unflattering review. Puhlease. This same woman as described in that review, upon my request, immediately found the perfect smallest box that could handle two awkward items and carefully placed them inside. She deftly packaged and labeled the box while answering another customer's question (multitasking was just one of her attributes.) I was out of that clean, air conditioned store in a flash, and out into the heat. She said "stay cool and we will see you again". Now that's good service! read more

It was my first time sending. I paid 150 dollars to send. I gave them the address and they ended up sending it directly to Iraq and not the APO address I provided. I rarely visit but had a last minute need and they are nearby. At this point 5 stars is not enough. The staff was super helpful and attentive to what I needed but... that's not why I'm here writing this review. As I stepped to the side to write in some addresses to send off I overhear a lady being seated right next to me (6ft away). She was requesting a notary but did not know "what type" when asked. The employee, a slightly middle aged woman with curly hair (wish I had caught her name) gave her the options and the elderly lady bursted out in tears informing her that she needed to authorize an autopsy for her deceased son. This broke my heart of course. What really got me was the employee crossed over to sit near this woman and embrace her, offer condolences and grab her a tissue. This to me is ABOVE and BEYOND what I expected. Not only was the customer service superb but the humanity far above exemplified this place of business and all of its offerings. I have used this Postal Annex for the past year for shipping, packaging fragile items, copying, and notary service. I'm not sure what those negative reviews were based on BUT i have never had a poor interaction! I have always been treated kindly with wonderful customer service by both Crystal and Shelly! They go out of their way to be helpful and very kind especially to the elderly clientele. I was just in there today for copying many items. I was there for an hour and observed their efficiency, kindness, and great interaction with each other. I think folks are expecting stuff for free ....this is a business that employs people! They need to charge but I have found them very reasonable. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! BEWARE! On 12/24 I paid $85 for overnight shipment. (It was a little key.) It was guaranteed to arrive on 12/26, because of christmas even tho I paid for overnight. They didn't actually ship it until 12/26 and didn't arrive until 12/28 at 1:14pm. UPS issued a refund to the postal annex on 1/4. So they got their money back. I have called countless times and everytime the owner tells me... "Oh, let me call you back" "I have a line of customers" "I need to pull the paper work" "They haven't issued me a refund yet so I can't refund you" He's never once called me back and has always been short and cold with me. He is very defensive and has not once shown any concern for how terrible they are treating me. SO he got his money back and refuses to refund me. Horrible! Customer service is the worst I have seen in the desert. I had a UPS package dropped off for overnight delivery and found out that they had to close early (for unknown reasons) and just ignored my package and it never got to its destination until 2 days later even though I paid for overnight! They could have called me or dropped it off at another authorized UPS location so that it would have made it on time. Another package I took there also didn't make it overnight even though they verbally assured me it would go out in today's UPS shipment! So terrible, never again will I go there. read more

Convenient location but always understaffed. I've never seen more than two employees and frequently they are both tied up on lengthy (as in 20 min+) transactions so impossible to make a simple, short transaction. They need to figure out how to keep people from walking out of the store without doing business. read more
