I went to staples in Chicago on Roosevelt and Canal in the South Loop. I was looking for large graph paper and some mechanical pencils. I walked towards one employee and said young man and he walked away as though he did not hear me. I went to the checkout to ask for assistance and the guy at the register, who was busy at the time, asked by way of walkie talkie if anyone knew if there was big paper at that store. After three calls he was told that if I did not find it in aisles 5 or 11 they did not have it. When the guy waited on me he did not even hand me my merchandise and the person behind me put his items on top of mine. Most of the people I came in contact with seemed uncaring and insensitive to the needs of the customer. What a worthless bunch of employees. read more

just spent $60 on two large write board pads and some conference stickers. I asked them for a bag because I had a long walk back to the office. Two employees told me they didn't have anything to help me with, they couldn't offer a bag, a rubber band, nothing. Obviously they aren't paid to think at staples. A good employee would have been somewhat helpful or even apologetic. They had what I wanted, but he customer service sucks badly. read more

I just needed to print something on some card stock. No good. They had one guy there who said the self serve printing could only be done with regular paper and he was busy right now. In his defense he did say that he could help me with my 5 minute job in an hour and a half. Either hire adequate staff, or take appointments (I asked, also no good). read more

Went into the store to purchase a new printer. I found an HP 8600 printer I liked that was $199, and quickly decided to check the price online. I found that on HP's website (yes, the actual manufacturers website) that is was on sale for $149.99. I asked an employee if they price match and he confirmed they do. So I carry the massive printer up to the check-out and ask lady checking me out to review the price of HP to price match. She gave me an ugly look and told me they do not price match manufactures but only "brick and mortar stores." I told her that in fact makes ZERO sense. I challenged her back only to her calling the store manager in front of me, and hearing them banter back and forth on why they would not honor HP's price. Crazy. I then decided to call customer support right there in line, which I did. They informed me that they DO IN FACT price match manufacturers, and could not understand why this store was telling me what they were. I told the cashier lady I was no longer interested in the printer and would be going to Best Buy (who buy the way honored the price and in fact beat it by $5 because of my aggravation earlier!). The best part. The lady asked me to carry the printer back to the shelf where I got it. Will never be shopping at Staples ever again. And in fact have already told numerous people about this event, who will also not be shopping there. Go to Best Buy. read more

First time ordering from staples for an in store pick up at this location and it was a horrible experience. Like the other reviews, their customer service is beyond terrible. I simply asked about my purchase and the sales associate literally just rolled his eyes, sighed extra hard, said "I don't knowwwww" with so much attitude, and just started mumbling to himself before the manager came to assist me. There are definitely better ways to talk to your customers than taking it out on them because you hate your job. Never coming back here again! read more

What can you say about office supplies? Some people love 'em, some people just see them as the crap you need to have to get your job done. Typically I prefer Staples to the other office supply places but this location really doesn't do it for me. This is my usual spot but a couple of visits ago they really kind of ticked me off. I had stopped in to get a new charger for my Kindle and I decided that it might be a good idea to get a cover... I've been putting it off forever. I asked one of the guys that works there if they had covers for the Kindle that was one generation back and he insisted that any of the ones they had there would work. I told him I was pretty sure that my Kindle was a bit larger and he (rather know-it-all-y and obnoxiously) insisted that he was right and pointed to the cover I needed. Two hours later at home, while packing for a work trip I decide to put the new cover on. Surprise, surprise... way too small. Luckily I very carefully removed the packaging so I was able to put it back together. Just beware... the staff might act like they know a whole lot more than they do and you should probably trust your instincts if you feel something is amiss. read more

There's always like one worker at the print center, and a long line of people waiting to be serviced! There is never a sense of urgency among the employees and they never know how to anything! Beware: lots of promises made and nothing, NOTHING, delivered. I worked with them for 10 days to design a look book for NY Fashion Market, provided Hi Res photos, design idea and was going to print at Staples in NY. At the last minute, Friday evening, before Sunday set up, they let me know that they had dropped the ball and there would be no product. I was welcome to yell as much as I wanted. Since that was not going to solve the problem I declined, hung up and vowed to help others avoid this nightmare. It's no bargain if you get nothing. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced by Staples employees, Zon (printing dept.) and Page (cashier). When I reported my complaint to the manager Ryan (?), he appeared to listen to my concern but at the same time was so nonchalant. No wonder the employees practice non- customer service behavior. I went to this Staples Copy Center after having a terrible experience at the FedEx Kinko's across the street. The staff at Staples were knowledgable and professional. They printed a bunch of proofs right then and there for me so I could decide on a font and they got my last-minute order done in two hours. They even called me when it was ready. The copy center saved the day and now they have a new loyal customer. read more

This staples is horrible ! do not order anything online. The staff is incompetent and lazy. This is my second negative experience with this location. I spoke with a manager who appears to be as incompetent as the people he supervises. I wasted 35 minutes attempting to obtain information....still no information just aggravation. read more

I have been in this store before and hands down this has been my best visit. I know what I was coming into the store and where to find it but this time I was greeted by the manager Michael Green. He engaged me right away and asked in I need any assistance. He was very prompted and energetic. Like I said I have been in this store before and this has been the best experience I have received.
