Terrible service... I had taken my phone there for a repair. Battery trashed back screen broken. Employee gave the impression this was a routine fix said he needed 1hr. Came back 1hr later said is still fixing things needs a bit more time, no problem. What he didn't explain is fixing things meant another charge additionally. I brought my computer in for repair, paid the diagnostic fee and within 24 I received a call saying I needed a new motherboard. I approved of them charging my card to order one and waited for delivery. It was delivered and installed and I was told it was fixed and I could pick it up. I came in later that day to pick it up and was told once I booted it up and logged in, I should be set. I did just that and the issue was still present. I called back and told them the issue was still happening, they explained that they would need a couple hours to finish up the install, if I could bring it back (why this was not done in the first place is beyond me). So I brought it back and was told I would be able to pick it up the following day. I called the next day and asked if it was ready, I was told it was not and they would call me back later on when it was ready. This went on for a few days. I then called back and when I asked for an update, the person said they weren't sure when it would be ready. I asked if they could give me a call by the end of the day with some kind of update, which I was assured would happen. I did not receive a call so I called the following day and said, I spoke to someone yesterday and asked them to call me before they left to update me on when I would get it back, that didn't happen. He said the tech gave him some other story about where I said I would take it back for 2 days and give it back to them to finish, I was like, I never said that. Then I asked how much longer it was gonna take, I said it was supposed to be done last Wednesday and then u guys needed a couple more hours but it's now Tuesday and I still don't know what's going on. I said, if u guys don't know how to fix it, just let me know and I will take it somewhere else. He kinda chuckled and was like, that's not what were saying. So I said, well when can you guarantee it'll be ready, he's like I can call you tomorrow and let you know. I said, why can't you tell me today? What extra information are you gonna have tomorrow that you don't know now? Do you need parts? What's going on? He's just like, I just can't tell you today for certain when it'll be ready but I will be able to tomorrow. I said ok, if I hear from you tomorrow and you can not give me a solid date, I'm just going to pick it up and take it somewhere else I received a call the next day and was told that they still didn't know what was done but they were going to try another thing and if they could fix it by the afternoon the next day, they wouldn't be able to fix it. That day came and I was informed they couldn't fix it. So in the end I wasted $$ on the diagnostic fee (which was not correct anyway, not sure what they diagnosed) as well as 2 weeks of time on my repair. Will never go back to this business read more

Thing break. I get it. But I now have no phone. My iphone 6s was running out of juice quickly so I took it to replace battery. First of their batteries was "a bad battery" and they ordered a second. Second battery stuck the iphone on the apple logo....For 12 hours. I had to cut my losses and returned to get my original battery. Now my phone doesn't work. They said it was software - But they blamed bad batteries the first two times. And now..........I have no phone. No offer of compensation for returning me an unusuable phone. They got the second star because they were not rude, but patronizing them cost me. read more

I am very confused about the positive reviews. This place was overpriced, came with "no guarantee" because of the "water damage we fixed 100%..." Isn't 100% by definition a guarantee? I have had plenty of experience cracking my iPhone and never has the screen actually fallen off after just one slight crack. I hate to say things that begin with "well in NYC...," but well in NYC, they fix my phone for like 50 and it's a legit fix. Still I would not call this a scam. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK. I took an iPhone 6 in with a cracked screen for replacement. The phone worked fine, just cracked. When I got it back, which they said they tested, it now does all sort of random things when your face is next to the glass- dialing numbers, trying to FaceTime or muting the phone. When I told them they said we've had that before, just bring it in, which I did; they said they fixed it, tested it again but same problem. So now I've travelled to them, given up my phone for two days, I'm out $119 dollars and now I have to go to Apple and replace the phone for who knows how much just because I thought they knew what they were doing. read more

I was in Chicago for a first when the cold numbed my fingers and BLOOP there goes my iPhone, creating a lovely ishatter amongst the pretty Chicago skyscrapers. Luckily I turned to Yelp and found this gem of a place. What attracted me to this spot was the locality of it, to my hotel of course and the high reviews. The yelp deal also had me swaying to the business. I called immediately after searching the place and the voice on the other end was very comforting in letting me know appointments are welcomed and that the return time was to be 30 minutes at max with appointment. I scheduled an appointment for that same day, called by 10am, had appointment times from 11 on. I showed up, filled a small sheet of paper which entailed all the basic info and what type of repair I wanted. I went with the lcd screen repair which makes for the best repair. The service was to cost me 99.99 without tax. I asked if there was a spot to enjoy a meal while the repairs went on. The gentlemen attending to me informed me of probably the best spot for breakfast by far, that I had on that trip. I returned after breakfast and phone was complete. Quick and easy. Worked just as if nothing ever happened. Purchases that yelp deal, $20 for $30. Used that, and had to pay $76 besides that coupon deal. Wasn't an expected expense on the trip but felt good that the service was quick and let me go on with my day. Definitely recommend the place to anyone. read more

The price to fix a broken iPhone 6plus is more expensive than the Apple Store, which may be for market reasons beyond this business's control. I am amending my prior much lower rating to account for the decent communication I subsequently received from this store. Overall, I'm not sure this is the most competitive shop for iPhone repairs. My best advice is to call in advance and be very clear which model you own. Doing so could save you time and headache later. read more

Computer mishaps are never fun. Seems my Windows download (which I couldn't avoid by the way, my PC was just overtaken and the download just happened) was corrupted. There was a little communication challenge - I thought I'd get my PC back in two days but I didn't realize their diagnostic process was a little more thorough than I anticipated and even though they are open on Saturdays it's not a working day. I appreciate the diagnostic process is thorough. Better to be thorough than fast. All in all it turned out really well and I'm very happy with their 30 day warrantee. So my work laptop screen broke. I brought it in, they ordered & installed a new screen, and after working on it, they reported that the new screen didn't "work". So they put back the old screen, and suddenly THAT didn't respond any more. They damaged the motherboard somewhere in the process. So, laptop is dead. Before I brought it in, the screen was just cracked. Afterward, the motherboard is wrecked. Dale is great but I'm not sure he could have prevented this. Upsetting & stressful. My Iphone 6 screen was shattered but I decided to continue using it like that and did for a few months but then I dropped it again and the screen turned all crazy with colorful lines all over it. I couldn't use it because I could barely see behind that and when I touched it would do things I didn't try to do like text and call people. I'm not due for an upgrade and I remembered this place fixes phone screens. I called and they said it would be $109 plus tax and could be fixed in half an hour. I took it in, went to get a beer, and when I came back it was ready. They ask you to check that the buttons work, that you can send a text, make a phone call, take a picture and a video. Everything works well so far. I thought it was a bit expensive, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than a new phone and very convenient. I will go back. I know I will break more phones in my near future. read more

Avoid at all costs. I brought in an iPhone 5s for a screen and front camera replacement (due to malfunctioning, not damage). They replaced the screen and camera to a tune of $150. I realized immediately after that the proximity sensor (which is part of the front camera) was not functional. I took it back numerous times to have it fixed to no avail. After they said they put in a faulty camera, they then claimed there was water damage to the phone, which is not the case. It seemed like they were grasping at straws to come up with excuses. The sensor was working before they touched the phone, and now it's not, but they won't take responsibility for it. Each time I walked into the shop, sometimes an hour after my last visit, the same kid looked at me like he's never seen a person before in his life. One time he told me they never replaced the camera and then immediately asked me what work they did on it. The customer service here would be laughable if it weren't so aggravating. I've given up on these jokers without resolving my issue. I guess it may be time to upgrade phones. read more

The service is horrible. The person evaluating how your phone is going to be fixed is NOT the person fixing the phone. So how does he know what needs fixing and how much he must charge? I came in because my screen was lifting up from the phone. NOT a single crack, NO issues with the screen AT ALL. I was charged 89.99 but got the yelp $10 off coupon. I was not told that the screen was going to be replaced, it seemed like a matter of adhering the original screen back down to the phone. When I came back and the phone was fixed, the screen was replaced. My original screen that had nothing wrong with it had a protector film on it. I asked a simple question because I had not known that the screen was replaced why the film protector was gone. And the response was, "what do you want me to do?" (This is in front of my 2 young children who were with me). The thing that REALLY BOTHERS me as well is that they ask for your password which makes me uneasy. All confidential and personal information is in your phone. I would believe they would be professional by not looking into anything or storing any PERSONAL INFORMATION, but who knows???? I will NEVER be returning here and would rather go to another place (or an apple store) where someone explains to you what is happening, they don't need your password, and does not give attitude when asking a simple question. read more

I chose to go to Chicago iRepair after reading the reviews of their business. I'm so happy I made that decision! As another reviewer said, I did a price comparison between them and other more well-known repair shops. Chicago iRepair was by far the most reasonable prices for the job. One of the great things about this location is that they take appointments. I called in around 2pm and I was able to make an appt for 5pm that same day. (Just a quick note, Chicago iRepair is in the same space as Chicago Ink & Toner, just in case you think you are in the wrong place) Upon arrival I was taken right away and was told it would be about a 30 minute wait (My iPhone 5S's LCD was broken). I was shocked when the employee came out in 20 minutes telling me that it was already fixed! They are so thorough in their repairs that they even go through a checklist with you to make sure EVERYTHING still works on the phone when they give it back to you (from the touchscreen to the camera to the headphone jack). I would highly recommend this business to all of my family and friends because of their excellent customer service, reasonable prices, and willingness to take appointments. Broke my phone when I took a bad stumble and fall. Glass shattered and the touch feature on the phone was lost. They were a quick fix! They fixed my phone in an hour and made sure it was working.
