Wanted to support a local place, but my experience has been pretty mixed. They did a good job replacing batteries on a couple old tablets, although it took a while and they were not good at keeping me informed about progress. But most recently I brought them a Pixel 8 with a cracked screen. They replaced it, but it wasn't properly sealed, so when I dropped my previously waterproof phone in the sink for a second, it flooded and was ruined. They refused to give me my money back, did not apologize, told me that "everybody knew" replacement screens weren't waterproof, and then were jerky on the phone. Had I known the replacement screen wasn't waterproof, I would have done what I suddenly had to do anyhow: buy a new phone. They did offer to see if they could get the data back, but once again didn't contact me with any updates. I eventually went in to get the phone back, but again there was no data, no apology, and certainly no refund. Next time I'll see if I can find a place that will at least answer their email and keep me updated on repairs. read more

I'm a college student and I use a MacBook Pro. Earlier this week, I dropped some ginger ale on the keyboard of my Mac and the keys were extremely sticky. I took it to the apple store where they quoted me $1500 to repair. I took it to Device Fix and for a fifth of the price, the owner went above and beyond to help me out. He was able to clean the keys same day and replaced my entire keyboard a day later. He genuinely wants to help you, you don't find a lot of business owners like him anymore. Regretfully the previous owner literally just took my movie, wasted my time and destroyed my laptop without notice. Device fix is a knowledgeable and trustworthy business that I couldn't recommend more! My Samsung Frame tv burned out. The tv is a little different than most, more complicated to fix. Even Samsung themselves gave me a hard time after 5 calls to customer service. I tried geek squad as well, but it seemed to be a complicated fix that no one had much confidence in. I remembered Device Fix because I got my phone repaired there a year ago. I decided to give them a call about the TV before giving up on it. They did the research and fixed it for a really fair price (lower than both Samsung and geek squad's quotes for regular TVs!). I'm kind of a test case for good customer service. I have a couple of disabilities. I use a knee roller, sort of a wheeled crutch replacement. Not quite a wheelchair, but in that direction. I also have a pretty severe speech impediment. I'm pretty independent, but I blunder into various establishments, and it's always revealing how they handle things when I show up. They were excellent all around. So their entrance is accessible... for me. Not a wheelchair, there are a couple of steps. But it's a thing I can navigate. Anyway the guy working there was very helpful on both entry and exit. Maybe a bit more than I needed, but better that than the opposite. And he picked up on my speech when asking how to get in communication. I guess some people have another phone they can be contacted at. I do not, but also having a speech impediment makes talking on the phone a great deal less useful. We used email. I have to underline this: I've dealt with medical doctors who asked me to 'call their office.' People who really, really ought to know better. It's kind of shocking how it's not common sense. He passed that test. And of course, my phone is fixed and fine. I'm typing this out on it right now. It took a day longer than expected, but supply chains are still messed up, it was not a surprise. Not blaming them. And the professionalism of telling me to test my phone before I left. A small detail, but an important one. All around excellent customer service. Oh and their music selection, super tasteful jazz. Gotta love Miles Davis and John Coltrane. read more

Went in for a keyboard repair and they broke the clips on the trim surrounding my keyboard, causing the trim to bubble. Keys rubbing against the plastic now - owner said I was nitpicking. I had a broken iPhone back glass and also screen. I went in and thought everything would be good since they have good reviews, but no. As soon as I walked in I got a dirty look but thought nothing of it. I got to the counter and explained what happened. The whole experience was full of snarky and very rude responses. I gave them my phone to fix both glass and screen and replace the battery. They fixed it all but had glue residue and scratches from replacing it on my frame. Poor service and would not recommend to a friend. It also smells like dirty dog and baby vomit. I don't know if they were having a bad day but they should never treat a customer like that! read more
