Okay, I usually do not leave yelp reviews, but I believe it is in the best for humanity if I share my experience so that others do not have to struggle and waste time and money, as I have. It all started when I broke my iPhone X screen 6 months ago. I looked to yelp/ other reviews to make my decision and thought this place was alright, with an okay price. It was close, seemed legit, right? I was wrong. First time I came in, an individual behind the counter said to come back in 30 minutes. I waited at the coffee shop across the street and when I came back, my cracked phone screen was replaced. I looked at my phone, and it seemed dull. I turned up the brightness, still dull. I should have known then. Complaining makes me anxious so I was like uh thank you and left. I then got home and looked at it more, there was GLUE around the phone, and i peeled some off. There was a space between the screen and the rest of my phone, I could press down and the space would close, and then I would let go and it would bounce back. Bad. I knew at this point something was wrong for sure. I'm super busy so I left it. A day passes, the screen starts glitching. I take time out of my busy schedule to GO BACK. a different individual is there this time. he tries to charge me $120 AGAIN to get another phone fix. I say absolutely fucking not. they replace it again. lo and fucking behold, it glitches again. i go to a different place and they say that whoever fixed my phone 1) did it poorly 2) used super cheap materials and 3) damaged my phone. i pay AGAIN to have my phone fixed somewhere else. They really show that they care about their customers, because I told them I was planning on trading the phone in after it was fixed. We have had Nova Fix do a few jobs for us over the years and have always had good experiences. Once we brought in a 20 y/o drive to see if the data could be pulled off it. They had to order a special reader for the drive, only then to discover that the motor in the drive was bad. Getting the data off of the drive would have required an extensive, specialized recovery effort, so we decided not to go ahead with it. Nova Fix refused to accept any money for the job, even after they had gone through all the trouble and expense to discover the bad drive motor. They were extremely efficient, I was able to wait outside and they cleaned off my phone with a bleach wipe and also wiped my credit card down with a bleach wipe . Double Wipes! The front desk gentleman could have been more respectful. About a week ago, I accidentally spilled water on my E14 Thinkpad keyboard. Some keys were dead. I reached out to this store to see how it could be fixed. As a lawyer who has to work 12-14 hours a day typing, a comfortable keyboard is vital. It's also the reason why I did not replace my old E14 with the newer Yoga or X1--their keyboards are subpar compared to the older T and E series. Nova Fix told me they would replace mine with the original keyboard so imagine how surprised I was upon receiving my laptop with some knocked-off Chinese keyboard (OEM, as claimed) for our agreed price of $200. The front desk gentleman was grumpy when I said I was not satisfied with the result. He began lecturing me on how laptop parts can be manufactured in different countries. He laughed sarcastically at my arguments, treated me like I am a retard when it comes to gadgets. He called another gentleman who took care of my order, Dmitri, who was easier to talk with, and eventually, we agreed on a revised price. By the time I was about to head out of the store, the grumpy gentleman said, "Hey, look here (showed me a Wikipedia page on Lenovo) your laptop is a Chinese brand". My Chinese ass was so dead inside. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, the person I was supposed to meet wasn't even there.
