The lady working here is mean. My first time here and I brought an eBay shipment and needed to measure and weigh the box to create a QR code to prepay for shipping in the app. The lady got mad at me that she has to measure the little box. She told me "Nobody does it this way they already have the QR code ready." She was irritated like it's the DMV. I gave it 2 stars because she did put the box in a bag at end. I did stay nice because I don't want my package to go missing but I will not come back to this place. Even the US post office has nicer more helpful people than this. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this UPS Store due to their lack of attention and professionalism. I went there on a Sunday to ship a turbo. Since I didn't have a box, the employees sold me one and printed the shipping label. Everything appeared to be ready, and I was given a receipt confirming the transaction. However, a week later, the company I shipped the turbo to contacted me asking about the package, as they had never received it. When I returned to this UPS Store to resolve the issue, I was told they would look into it and call me back. It has now been more than eight days, and I have received no follow-up or assistance whatsoever. It is clear that the staff were distracted and not paying proper attention when handling my shipment. Because the label was never scanned, UPS records show that I never dropped off the package -- even though I have the receipt showing payment for the box and label. This experience shows a complete lack of responsibility and customer service. I do not recommend this location. read more

I was told to bring a box in to UPS. This was a cart that was delivered by UPS, broken three times. The third was an exchange for one of the broken ones. They wanted to charge me $10.00 to tape it, and also for a new box. I think that is silly given the fact that UPS delivered it broken three times. The manager then showed me the small print that I am supposed to tape and pack it up. It is UPS's fault for doing a crappy job with delivery. I had to load it in my car and drive it over.. considering it is a UPS store, I should not have to spend extra for for 2 pieces of tape. read more

I have experienced ridiculous services on 5/31/2024 around 10:39 a.m. at this UPS location. I didn't use the tape and a lady said the tape will charge $2. When I try to scan the barcode and that bad service lady told the guy to charge me $2 for the tape. I said I didn't use the tape. I can see that's how UPS staff provide services to the customer. She didn't ask me if I use the tape or not she just asked the guy to charge me $2 for the tape. I think that bad service lady is discrimination. The owner of the Bridgeport UPS store overcharges for notary services - prices vary from customer to customer and are 7 or 8 times higher than standard rates in Chicago. I find the stores practices to be treacherous. The owner charged me $36 to notarize a simple, two page document. The notary service was $35 plus $1.00 per signature line. My friend was charged $15 for same service one week earlier. The UPS store in Lake Meadows Shopping Center charges flat rate $5 per notary service and UPS store at 308 S. Jefferson charges flat rate $4 per notary service. The customer service at both of these locations is excellent. There is no concern for customer service at the Bridgeport UPS. read more

Can't seem to catch a break here, they advertise notary services, however the couple of times I've stopped in the notary isn't there. I don't know, but in my opinion if you advertise a service it should be available during your business hours. Or, you need to put a little asterisk and say, "not all hours, call first." Another option would be to get one or two other people to become notaries, it's not hard. I've sent packages a couple of times too, I gave them all my info and it gets saved in the system. Although, that was done incorrectly, when I gave them my phone number I came up in the system, however my address ended up being the person I last sent an envelope to, and everything had to be reentered. Well, if saving it in the system was meant to save time, it didn't. I will agree with some of the other reviews, the folks are nice enough, but I really just need to get stuff accomplished in a timely manner. Original Review: This is less than a block away from my business, but service is grossly inferior to every other location. I wouldn't recommend it and won't go back. Also, practically all day long, there is a UPS truck double parked RIGHT NEXT TO AN EMPTY PARKING SPACE, blocking part of the regular traffic lane on Halsted and 100% of the bike lane. Updated Review: The store says that "UPS drivers are on very tight schedules," which is true but doesn't help their case. "Tight schedules" is their excuse for constantly parking illegally in front of this business and blocking traffic. They won't take an extra 5 seconds to pull to the curb, and management at this store doesn't care. Heck, when I drove by there this morning, a UPS truck was parked blocking both the southbound bike lane and the entrance to the POLICE STATION parking garage, only 5' away from a legal parking space. Talk about blatant disregard for the law! Halsted is very narrow relative to traffic volume, so this is a serious issue that this business obviously doesn't take seriously. read more

I've had to come here various times over the years. Service is always friendly, and it's usually not busy. But when it does get busy, they don't have a good control over the line. It's kind of everyone for themselves, multiple lines kind of thing. Even then, I've never had a long wait. Plus they have candy bins there for free so you can snack while you wait. They don't blow you out of the water, but they do everything you need and make sure it's nice and friendly while you wait. read more

Shipped a mannequin with Carlos... he is a shipping expert!! He spent a lot of time explaining to me what he was doing and why the heck the process costs so much. The vintage mannequin is a large, unusually shaped fiber glass item that I was determined not to have damaged. I can say Carlos was my guy. He is easy going and good at customer service. Everyone at this location is well trained and friendly. I recommend shipping here! I almost forgot to mention... Carlos and his team provide outstanding customer service. I couldn't have been happier with my experience and this was during the Covid-19 lock down. I needed to find an unorthodox way to perform shipments for my company due to the stay at home order. Carlos took the time to go over every item as well insurance offerings, which was of great relief to this inexperienced shipper. His calm demeanor during the process was quite welcoming especially given the circumstances. tldr; Fraudulent pricing, denial of responsibility, shipping through USPS is just a 50 dollar service to drop it off two miles away at best, $50 to lose your package at worst. Went to this location to ship an envelope overseas, and was recommended to and grossly overcharged for a USPS service, to the tune of $80 for a service advertised at $31 at USPS. To add insult to injury the envelope was lost, with both UPS and USPS blaming the other. At the end of the day paid 80 bucks for an important lesson on how not to ship. Came back for the last time Aug 9, each and every time I raised the issue the problem is immediately with USPS, not them. Treated me as a "second rate" customer for picking the "cheaper" service, which was only like 10-20 bucks below the more expensive options. FTC complaint filed, if damage caused by missing documents worth it, might be a court date in the near future. read more

The staff here are the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met. They are incredibly helpful when you need to mail something or need help. And even during busy times, they always smile and greet you when you come through the door. My husband and I have had a box here for a couple of years now, so we visit on a regular basis. A very expensive package that was delivered there was stolen and yet they couldn't provide a copy of the receipt or signature or video of who picked it up. The clerk claimed to have filed a claim with ups corporate but weeks of calling with the clerk telling me no updates, I contacted ups corporate and they had no record of a claim being filed. For the most part, the services I receive from this location are good. I have a prepaid shipping label, I drop off the package, employees are courteous and thank me, package gets delivered. Other times, when I am in a bind, I may have to use them for their pack and ship services and while I would expect to pay more for those services, sometimes, you have to wonder if you're just getting blatantly ripped off. Case in point, a 4lb Ground Service package from Chicago to California for $62.94? $15+ for a box and packing, $45+ for Ground shipping? I have a low level personal UPS account where the Ground service charge for the same shipment / packaging dimension would have been $26.78. A 235% mark-up? Sorry, I don't think so. Bottom line is this, pack it / pay for the shipping on your own accord. Don't let a retail establishment like this take advantage of you. I've learned my lesson from here on out. read more
