I've been here many of times before for some late printing runs and things that I've needed for meetings or events. Most of the time when I come, I usually interact with a female who helps me the best she can and she's nice, friendly, but doesn't really smile which is a bit of a downer because I feel like she would be a nice person. I came last night because I needed some printing things done for a meeting and was helped by a guy named Aaron. He was super helpful and let me know that the Do It Yourself printer machines weren't working due to a connection error, but was able to help me behind the counter. He was able to pull up my files on my memory stick and dealt with me cause I just could not remember for the life of me what I had named my files. He was great nice and really friendly. We had a nice chat as well and just was overall really happy with the experience I had in the evening with Aaron than the lady I normally see during the day times. read more

sadly, i have a long history of bad experiences with STAPLES. for someone like me who truly loves all things office supply in an almost sexual way (hey, what can i say, colored file folders, fine-lined legal pads and roller-ball pens really get me off) that took some doing. a few months after they opened. i showed up at their VISTA WAY location with a shopping list seven or eight items long ready to fall in love. they didn't stock a single thing i was looking for including -- wait for it, wait for it -- staples. that's right -- STAPLES didn't have staples. ironic on several levels since i use the standard SWINGLINE desk model that is the industry standard. flash forward to last week. my lovely wife went to the VISTA WAY location in OCEANSIDE where i had the first of several awful experiences. they didn't have what she was looking for (hey, big surprise there, she should have asked me first) but they checked and it was in the warehouse. they were getting a delivery the following day and that they could get it in for her. the next day she drove over to pick it up only to discover that her package was waiting at the LOKER AVE store in CARLSBAD. lovely. i remember the first ream of paper i bought from PRICE CLUB (now COSTCO). i was disappointed but not entirely surprised when the mom and pop stationary store (that's what we called the places we bought office supplies at before the big box stores drove them to extinction) went quietly into that good night. i still shop regularly at COSTCO -- i've got five kids (four boys). that's a lot of groceries. i understand the trade-off of value for personal service. still, it's hard sometimes not to mourn what we've lost. however, if every STAPLES store on the planet closed their doors tomorrow, i would not shed a tear. read more

I'm freakish when it comes to office supplies. One can never have too many note pads, color paper clips, pens or colored sticky notes in my opinion. This Staples has come in handy more times than I can count. I have to admit, when they opened up I didn't think that they would do well. We needed a grocery store, not an office supply store in the neighborhood but they have proven to be very reliable over the years and I'm happy they're nearby. Service is pretty decent but I've had issues in the past with printing otherwise I would've given them 4 stars. read more

Carli was the absolute BEST!! She helped me at the printing station trying to locate my document for valentine's day when my flash drive didn't work and even when she had a customer going off on her for no reason she was SO sweet and polite and made my stressful day so much better Would 100% come back for any services again. They have all the usual items but their customer service has issues. They're are tones and ways to speak to people without assuming their idiots. Also don't tell people when they call that you can do day of photos when you can't. Also tip: they don't do photo copies exactly. Their color copies are okay and prices are low but if you want don't order multiples just order copies you don't mind getting ruined (ex for projects). It's just the worst experience ever. Just email them your images and expect a phone call asking for repetition of everything you sent in the email already and them condescending you. read more

Found trash bags at a great clearance price. I like staples. Sometimes we get the Hello and Friendliness from employees and other times we just get the eye contact (weird moments) with nothing said at all. Sometimes I feel like greeting lol. I will continue to shop staples no matter what. I usually know what I come in for every time. read more

Local office mega store in the heart of office country here in Carlsbad/Vista. They have everything from cubicles, to toner to pens and snacks. The store is always clean and tiddy... and each and every one of the staff great you and ask if you need any assistance. Good on ya mate! read more

Gary in the Printing department is beyond incredible! He is creative, and full of knowledge but mostly will take the time to educate you on what will make your project a success!! I can't thank him enough for all of his assistance. The Level Of Customer Service he provides is Above and Beyond!! He deserves a lot of credit for all he does at this store. Stop and walk away. Their online business cards are worthless. Their business card templates do not use standard business card size fonts and the proof is not to scale. What do you end up with? Spending money on business cards that go to the trash. I called Staples and was told "sorry you don't like the product." Totally avoiding their responsibility for selling a defective tool. This location is only handy if you know exactly what you need. Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone ask if I needed help, nor could I find anyone to explain the differences in products to me. Once I finally settled on something, I had to wait a while for a product to be brought out from the back, only to be told that it was out of stock. Instead of helping the people behind me, the cashiers simply chatted and waited for my external hard drive to be brought out. The service was slow and I didn't appreciate having shelves stocked with products that weren't actually available. For the record, I went to the location in Carmel Mountain, and had a much better experience. I was in and out the door, with my product and a discount, in literally less than two minutes. read more

I had a planner that fell apart. All I wanted to do was exchange it and the general manager gave me the hardest time. After 20 minutes of me explaining I just wanted an exchange and not money back she finally did it. I will not be going to another staples. read more

I just opened a new office down the street and stopped in Staples today to have some custom printing work performed and didn't have much time as usual. After talking briefly with Jodene in the printing department she knew exactly what I needed and was able to perform all my request as well as other good recommendations. She was able to complete everything while I waited there, so glad Jodene was there today! Because of her expertise and recommendations I went away very pleased with her completing all I hoped for and more! Im happy to know I have a go to person now for all our company related printing needs in the future. read more

I found the items I needed easily enough but the customer service.... wow. I could not believe how inattentive all of the employees were. I was just in there to get storage containers. Not one person said hello. Not one person offered to help even though at least one employee saw me struggling to get the containers I wanted. And when I finally made it up to the counter, the cashier asked me to move the boxes around. The only thing I could think is I have struggled enough just to get to this point, I'm 8 months pregnant, and you can't help me? I went ahead and turned them around and paid. She did not offer to have someone help me to my car which would have been greatly appreciated. On top of that, there was a manager outside who saw me struggle to get the boxes in the car and he just walked back inside. I don't think I'll be doing anymore business there. read more

vacationing in Carlsbad....driving around looking for stores....can't find a darn thing....dropped in here, found a $5 clearance computer game and two 90 cent notebooks for my kids to practice their writing and draw pictures in....even jerky for my DH and a snack for me. This print shop is the absolute worst! Simply trying to get business cards and walk into two women behind the counter who are clearly very frustrated, with crappy attitudes, and ill equip to handle basic print jobs stating that they were thrown new technology last week and they don't know how to use it. Ridiculous to say the least. Won't ever be back. Crappy service, crappy outcome and a waste of my time. read more

Britney is the worse manager of all times. Arrogant, rude and unprofessional !!! I was told by a representative I could transfer data from my phone for $10.00. The rep did not know how to do it. Therefore, I had to do it myself. Manager Britney in a rude and unprofessional manner advised it had to be $20.00. There were no signs stating the price of data transfer. read more

I've only been here twice but both times had a good experience. It is what you would expect from a Staples. Clean and fully stocked with office supplies galore. I love the new products out even though it's not specific to this store. They have really cute items! The staff is friendly and helpful. My items didn't ring up with the discount but the cashier apologized when I pointed it out. Convenient location and ample parking. read more

This store is hit or miss. I come here all the time in the middle of the day to pick up supplies for work and either I find an employee that is super helpful and awesome, and other days I find a completely empty floor with one cashier at the register and NO ONE to help me. The last time I was here I waited for ten minutes for someone to help me find the right printer ink and didn't have the best experience. I wouldn't come here unless I had to. It's not the biggest store in the world with any sort of office furniture so it depends what you are looking for. read more

Today Aaron in the Photo Center helped me out. He was so professional, knowledgable, and helpful. I come to this Staples a lot to print out images on photo paper and the quality is always great. A common downfall is while most workers try hard to be helpful, you can tell they are often overwhelmed with their tasks and don't want to be bothered with another question/complaint. This was not the case today as Aaron was positive, willing to help, and kept things running smooth. Thank you so much! This experience ensures I will be back. read more

Overinflated prices for simple copy paper... Must process an mail in rebate to get the Money back via visa debit card (with restrictions) . Major hassle to purchase what should be a simple grab and go deal. . Time is money for small businesses and these games waste our time. . This location isn't very good. Big warehouse type of place and few people who help. I was at the copier counter and the two ladies were talking about some gossip thing and they saw me waiting and the one continued to yak and finish her bs story. They didn't want to help. If you want to pack anything and the person isn't at the packing counter there is nothing you can really do. Waste of time. They don't have basics there to help you like tape and the like. Nobody to help you find stuff. The cashier is slow. I may need to go here but I will try to avoid if possible. I don't like giving my business to companies that don't deserve it. read more

What a joke! I brought my computer in to have it fixed and was told it couldn't be, and I needed a new one. I was prepared for that, and bought one and paid them $99 to transfer over my old data. It took them FOUR DAYS, and even then, they couldn't configure my email through Outlook! I'm semi-tech challenged, but went back to my office and called the company that is responsible for my company's server (which I gave the techies at Staples) and it took me LESS THAN TEN MINUTES to get my emails to work. And I'm NOT GOOD at this. Where did these guys to get their training? McDonalds? DO NOT take your tech issues to these guys- they truly are tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber! read more

Avoid the repair center at all costs. I took my laptop for a fix which had a power supply issue. A lot of days passed and I was never notified about the status of the fix, then I called only to find out they havent even touched the laptop to fix. Finally after a long time I finally got the laptop back but both of my hard drives were formated (which contained valuable data), and problem not fixed. Ended up paying 175 dollars and losing all my data from two HDD and problem not fixed, I doubt they even try to address the original problem. These guys are crooks. Avoid at all cost! read more

I have been shopping at this Staples for a few years now.... and being in a customer service based industry myself I patronize stores with consistent service and fair prices, The service here is exceptional. The prices very good and at times phenomenal with sales and easy rebates, plus the staples rewards, I had an experience in early december i have to share. I had bought a laptop almost exactly a year prior from this store. The manager assisted me with the sale, got me a great trade in on an old lap top, the sale price and an additional rebate on top of everything else. i got a discount on doing a data transfer and an extended warranty. So... a year later and something spilled on the keyboard.... and we cant find the receipt / warranty. I go in to staples and go to the service desk. tell them my story. Kudos to BENJAMIN who helped me, attempted to retrieve the info. He assured me they could find it and called a mgr. to assist. And guess who the manager was.... yep, the same manager IILDY who sold me the laptop ! He again went above and beyond, with some detective work... found and printed the original receipt / warranty..... and sold me a samsung tablet...which was still on the black friday sale price... along with a $10 coupon towards my next in store purchase, which i used towards a leather case a few days later. A little side note - every employee that i have interacted with, when i mentioned Iildy, they say he is the best mgr they ever worked with. This manager and team seem to get what customer service is about. read more

Unfortunately this store doesn't really care if you wait - and wait - they may start your job but when someone else comes in they drop what they are doing and help the next person...telling you that you'll have to come back later to pick up your order. They apologize that they just don't have time to do your order right then, Whatever happened to first come, first served? If there were a closer store I would certainly frequent it and definitely would go to anther brand if I had the choice. Don't expect customer service - you won't get it here. read more
