I called ahead as my phone had been washed out by a wave and I noticed it overheating from simple use. After bringing it in, as he investigated, Sheldon explained what could happen inside the phone from water damage, which I appreciate when someone takes the time to teach the customer. He found (luckily) no water damage, and he took the time to further investigate, test out some options, to find potential causes. Cleaned out my charger port, and offered several things to try at home before trying something else. I was told if it still overheated, we could replace the screen (not likely a root cause but the next step if needed) and it was would discounted as I already paid for the other cleaning and gasket replacement. Luckily the issue is fixed and I'm happy he didn't push for the screen replacement if he truly didn't think it was needed! read more

Sadly, I shattered my iPhone screen on Jan 1st. When most places were closed, Phone Phix came to the rescue. So I went to the Apple store over there in La Costa. What a horrible experience. All I wanted to do was purchase a battery for my phone for my iPhone 6S plus. They insisted I purchase a screen in addition to the battery, it was an upsell. They wanted $278. They also really strong-armed me to replace my phone stating that my phone was going to be worthless anytime now. all I wanted was to replace my battery. The iPhone store was totally a zoo -must've been 150 people in there. In contrast, I went over to Phone Fix to have Sheldon put a new battery in my phone. What a wonderful experience. I got everything I needed for $50. While we waited, we also got to sit on the comfortable couch, and watch an amazing movie on his very large screen and entertainment center. Sheldon was professional, efficient, knew what the heck he was doing, didn't try to upsell me, and he got the job done. I am a local and I appreciate the excellent service I can get from him. By the way, his address changed and his location is now right off Mission blvd, on Coast Highway, on Oceanside. It was such a good experience, That was a week ago. Over the past few years, I've used insurance replacement through Verizon a few times; and walked into repair shops from here to Texas. Man am I livid! I just got back from Phone Phix after being promised by Sheldon through the phone that he would unlock my iphone I just purchased from him a week ago. Now he tells me it will cost an extra $40.00! I feel completely frustrated at being so blately ripped off. I bought two iphones from him two weeks ago and he gave me flat rates out the door for both of them. When I discovered that I couldn't get internet or text picturing he promised he would fix them. When I got there, Sheldon told me it would be an extra $40.00 dollars at cost for him. Now we all now its some simple programing that unlocks a phone and doesn't cost a thing. But the fact that he sold me these phones without being up front and honest in the first place is poor customer service and even worse business practice. I had a meltdown and got a little testy after Sheldon told me my blackberry was obsolete and he refused to work on it... I left, had breakfast, and drowned my sorrows in syrup as I contemplated what to do... I eventually came to the conclution that... I really had no option, but, to get a new phone (without buttons which i was desperately trying to keep). Even though I was still mad at him, he was the keeper of several jailbroken refurbished economical cellular phones and it was saturday, and my third day without a phone, and i wanted this problem to be over already... So, we walked the 10 seconds back after breakfast to see what he could do for us. I forgot I was mad at him when I had my IPhone 4 in my hot little hand, Sheldon showed me a few things on it and gave me some tips. They had a special running and replacement was $80... I believe it is regularly $100. I relaxed on their couch and read the paper while I waited. I needed the whole screen on my iPhone 5 replaced because it wasn't responding and the power button wasn't working... Idk why people gave the guy bad reviews. He was pretty friendly, knew what he was doing, and even explained to me what was wrong with my phone's power button. His customer service skills were pretty chill... I mean, he answered all my questions and even gave me a free screen protector. Plus, his prices were pretty decent. I brought in my iPhone 5S here after I dropped it and the screen got that really great Spiderman App. The screen wasn't even functioning, so I was at a pretty big loss. I'm like so many people in the sense that I use my phone for just about everything, so being without it was not a desirable option. I brought my phone in at about 5pm and he was able to get a new screen on it within 30 minutes. Now don't take that to the bank, I'm sure it can take longer depending on how many more devices there are ahead, but he really helped me out. The only issue, and a reason why I would take away a star was that after getting my phone back I noticed that my microphone wasn't working while on speakerphone or FaceTime (although voice calls worked just fine), the screen was jittery when zooming, and the corners of the screen weren't functioning properly (making it hard to hit the "a" and "m" on the keyboard. The reason he still has five stars is because I took it back into him and within 15 minutes he diagnosed the issue, took the phone apart, and fixed all of the problems. I am very pleased with the outcome of the work and if I had any other problems with these delicate screens, I wouldn't hesitate to take it back into Phone Phix. read more

I dropped my iPhone 5 over the weekend which caused the screen to crack. I came to Phone Phix (which is conveniently located less than 5 minutes away from my apartment) a couple days later. It cost $100 and took about 15 minutes to fix. Although I do think this is a bit expensive, the convenient location, short time it took to fix, and quality of service made the price worth it. So far, I've had no problems with the new screen. My iPhone looks brand new :) If any of my Apple products ever get damaged, I will definitely be coming here to get them fixed. read more

I went in awhile ago, I think around the end of last year, to fix my wife's iPad 2 that she had dropped. It was dead and very dead. My wife felt so bad and so sad that her iPad was gone forever.
