Such is the case here - over the phone I was told to come by and show them my busted up iPad and was assured that whatever the issue was, they could fix it. Fast forward an hour later, (it literally took me 15 minutes of driving and walking back and forth on the street to find this place as it's basically a rented room at the top of a staircase of a commercial building), I was informed that my iPad is dead and that it should be used as a coaster or paperweight. Look, I understand a car mechanic cannot accurately diagnose a vehicle electronically or telephonically as accurately as they can if they can see the car in person and of course when it comes to an iPad with a cracked screen and water damage that won't power on, it would be ideal for a repair person to physically inspect it before diagnosing the issue so please don't tell me over the phone that you can fix something and then smugly state that it's beyond repair. Also, I appreciate that you want to keep your overhead low but FFS don't do business out of what is basically a bedroom with shit everywhere and a dog sitting around begging to be anywhere but there. This place is super inconvenient to get to with a super unprofessional "store" and super creepy vibes. All said, I disagreed with Sheldon's diagnosis so decided to call A to Z Wireless (which coincidentally enough is right down the street in an easy to see and enter store) and while no promises were made over the phone or in person, the owner fixed my iPad and is now working just as it did before I dropped it in a jacuzzi. So yeah...don't recommend this dude at all but highly recommend A to Z. Enjoy.

After bringing it in, as he investigated, Sheldon explained what could happen inside the phone from water damage, which I appreciate when someone takes the time to teach the customer. He found (luckily) no water damage, and he took the time to further investigate, test out some options, to find potential causes. Cleaned out my charger port, and offered several things to try at home before trying something else. I was told if it still overheated, we could replace the screen (not likely a root cause but the next step if needed) and it was would discounted as I already paid for the other cleaning and gasket replacement. Luckily the issue is fixed and I'm happy he didn't push for the screen replacement if he truly didn't think it was needed!

On multiple occasions he's called me from random #'s asking me to Zelle him some cash because he can't afford to get his phone fixed, so that's why when my phone charging port failed I knew exactly where to go. I've been on Android & Samsung for 13 years never having had an issue other than loss. So when my S24 Ultra USB-C Port got loose I was thinking of just upgrading, but having lost some key features when they released the S25 Ultra I decided to repair. Phone was at 15% and was taking 3 hrs to charge via wireless and I needed my phone for work the next day (4PM thursday). I called ahead and they said $125 without knowing what model/brand. Showed up and James quoted hour and a half which was perfect as they closed at 7 and had the port in stock. They can sure fix the easy stuff, but when I asked about cases and accessories they pretty much only carry Iphone and the latest models from other brands S24 Ultra is a flagship phone. Service was great, but my screen protector was bubbled from when they removed the glass. Not a big deal, but I wish they had my brand/model for a replacement. While i was browsing I heard James interacting with another customer which gave me pause as he didn't seem to have any sympathy for them wanting to save an old phone which had pictures that were priceless to them. Loss of a star for that. Haven't had any issues since and I'll likely return if I ever have need for repair not through my insurance.

Also there were lots of boxes and broken computers just kind of laying around everywhere, but we were desperate and needed a quick fix. It's been a few days since getting the screen replaced and we've noticed that when next to a normal iPhone looking at the exact same images, the colors are a lot different and not as detailed. Also it's been flashing and went black for a few seconds. Really disappointed but not confident we could get a refund, or would even want further repairs from this establishment.

I was greeted by Robert who was so friendly, kind, knowledgeable and so willing to help! What a lifesaver for someone like me that is NOT tech savy! He was unbelievably understanding and truly went above and beyond and I am so so grateful! When another customer walked in, he made sure to greet her and to let her know he would be with her shortly. When Robert stepped away briefly to answer another customers question, Tyler stepped right in kept the excellent customer service going! The upgrade was needed immediately as the old phone was no longer taking any charge and she needs the device for work. We explained that to the lone man working at this location (picture a cartoon car salesman with no name tag). He informed us that if we wanted to get a new phone right then that same day that we were required to purchase a "bundle" that included a phone case, screen protector and charger. We said fine because he indicated it was the only option to get a new phone ASAP and we were in a vulnerable position of needing it that night. The "bundle" was a cheap package of products that we found selling for $35 at Walmart but we were charged $150 for it. The salesman showcased very little understanding of the transaction and kept throwing out new and varying numbers every time I asked clarifying questions. He then, without asking, began to unbox the "bundle" and dropped half the contents on the floor before installing it on the new phone. Little did we know this service (which was not offered before he began nor explained to us until we were given a receipt) would cost us another $50. $50 to put on a cheap phone case and screen protector. I walked out of the store feeling violated. I walked out of the store a victim of a scam worthy of $200. I have already opened a case with Verizon corporate. They confirmed with me that no policy of requiring a bundle purchase exists. I will not be doing business with this store location again.

Hello to anybody taking the time to read this review! Iv recently had my phone repaired at A to Z Wireless, and I cannot be happier with the excellent dedication to customer service. I took my iPhone in because it was having screen/microphone issues and was unresponsive. When I dropped off my phone it was late in the day and I expressed how desperately I needed it to be fixed ASAP. The gentleman who works at the repair store said that he couldn't make any promises but would try to have it done for me. This store closed at 7pm this night, and the generous man stayed working on my phone for an extra 10 minutes just to make sure I was content. HE GOT IT WORKING LIKE NEW AGAIN! in the very short amount of time I actually gave him to work on my phone he focused and actually finished it even though I had given up home for that day. Iv never seen a higher level of customer service and I applaud this business. Thank you. read more

After waking up from my worst nightmare at Verizon in Encinitas, I was referred to these people by Seth at Walmart. A to Z wireless told me they could fix the screen on my smartphone after I was told at Verizon that it was impossible. The girl that worked there even offered to loan me a phone until I got mine fixed. That is just nice! Who does that? Verizon??? Uh...NOOOO. Anyway, I ended up buying an iphone while I wait on the repair. Highly recommended when you're in a cell phone pickle. read more

I won't even bother trying again. The original screen held up great for years. This one not even for the first day.

This place helped me twice and both times they have been awesome…read more I was in an urgency to restart a 2017 IPhone for legal reasons, with a dead battery, broken screen...I wasn't sure the phone was actually still functional (it had been run over by a truck). The repair person (I do not know his name) didn't make me any promises. He simply said that he'll try to see if it starts and go from there. I agreed to pay some $$ for a diagnosis even though it wasn't requested when I dropped the phone. I told the repair man to charge me for a broken screen anyways if the phone was still useable. 2 hours after dropping the phone, I received a text saying that my old phone was ready, it has full access and charges well. I paid $55 for the (super fast) service. Competent, efficient and friendly staff.
