Was finally able to pick up the laptop we wanted from this location. We called to check inventory and a helpful gentleman told us they would be getting a shipment in the next day. I called the next morning and they gladly put the item on hold for us. I went in after work to pick up the computer. I was greeted upon entering the store and was almost immediately approached by a sales person and asked if I needed help. I looked around for a few minutes, and when I was ready, found a salesperson who retrieved the laptop that I had put on hold. The guy that helped me was friendly and offered very good customer service. He offered a service contract on the laptop and when I said no thanks he offered me some information on it and said to think about it while he checked the laptop to make sure it was in working order. He asked again when he was done and I politely declined. Without being pushy he let me know that I had the option of both returning the laptop if I decided I didn't like it and I also had 14 days to come back in and sign up for the service contract if I decided I wanted it. I would definitely consider coming back when I need something office supply related. Friendly associates, quick service, plus I scored a great deal on the laptop I wanted (about $70 less than Frys, and $200 cheaper than when it went off sale at Staples). read more

I love this location of Staples! The employees are really nice here. There was a limit on a sale item and one of the employees told me, "You know, since you're a teacher you can get more than the limit..up to 25." It was the Cyber Monday sale, and I wanted to buy a printer from Staples' website, however, it wasn't available online anymore and the only place that had it within 50 miles of me was HERE! I called the Staples, let them know my dilemma and they price matched the online sale for in-store pickup and told me it would be at the front ready for me for pickup! This place is good for things for certain sales they have, and the return policy on electronics is very reasonable compared to other competitors. I've been here a number of times, and shopped around for items like memory cards or surge protectors but last time I was here to pickup a belkin wireless USB adapter for a WDTV. Knowing that is was one of the models they had from the website that was compatible which I was able to order in the Cupertino store. Pickup was super-easy, I was able to bring nothing on me, other than my ID to verify the pickup. The girl who helped me was very nice and it was such a different experience to actually pick up at item at the store. Something I had the chance to do in a very long time. In-store ordering is great if you have a credit or gift card to use at the store. I believe that Staples has stayed around by staying competitive in price and flexibility with their service and the great return policy they have. read more

I have been wanting some binder clips, and they have a kind of grab-bag for that which is pretty cool; you take a small box and fill it up with whatever you want. Checkout was almost fun. I came here yesterday to pick up an order that I phoned in. The guy (he had long, pink hair - very unprofessional-looking) who was at the customer service desk was extremely slow and completely clueless as to why I was coming in. I get the fact that they may not be privy to all the pick up order information, but there should be a list of expected customers and what products or services they're coming in for. Furthermore, the guy appeared to be either drunk or high, because he was moving and speaking very slowly and erratically. I eventually got what I needed, but they really need to sharpen the way they do business at this location. Maybe don't hire people who like to get drunk or high before / during work hours? read more

So recently I had to prepare for my mother-in-laws 60th Birthday Party!!!! I had this brilliant plan to put all these photos in these photo cubes. Which measured out 3.25x3.25 inches. Just my luck I was also in the process of moving, so my computer was left at the new house all the way up in sac. And most printing places would like you basically to size them yourself, which I was unable to do. Tried going through Walgreens didn't work, my cousin works for a printing company they said they couldn't do it. I was slowly running out of options. Then came to staples, told this wonderful lady Val my situation, and for the first time someone actually put effort and genuinely wanted to help, so the best thing she said she could do was 3.5 x 5. which I did have to trace and cut out. But the point of the matter is she put the time and effort to help, she could have easily blown me off or told me to go somewhere else, but she didn't!! So Val, thank you so much!!! The party was a hit and everyone loved the photo cubes!! I am beyond appreciative! Great Customer service at its finest!! You don't find that to much nowadays. I went in to buy an office chair for my desk at home. I wanted to use my teacher discount as I normally do when I go shopping at Michale's or any other store that normally offers it. I asked the chasier if I could use it. The employee replied, "I'm not sure, maybe if you sign up with our rewards program." I signed up just because I was like okay that's fine it's for free. After that she didn't ask anyone else at the store if I could use my teachers discount. She just gave me the total and I didn't want to ask again. I didn't mind that she didn't give me the discount. I would have liked if she would have asked someone else if I could use it. Over all other employees were helpful during my time at the store. I just wished the cashier would have check if they didn't know. I bought the chair because I really needed it. Staples prices are a little better than OfficeMax on ink cartridges for my HP printer. I like Staples because it's more cozy in this store. The people are pretty nice and everything seem easy to find and get to. If I had to choose between Staples and OfficeMax I definitely like this Staples better. It is just a better feeling in Staples than in OfficeMax. Cleaner, friendlier, not as big. It's probably a good idea to visit this Staples to see what I am talking about. If you have to get some office supplies or even have some printing done I definitely like this Staples. Try it when you re in the area. You will probably really like it. I had no idea that there was even a Staples here. Stumbled upon it accidentally while looking for a place that can scan some documents for me. I usually went to the Office Max that closed right down the street and recently started going across the street to the UPS store but they close early. Which is how the search began.... Upon entering the parking lot it almost looked deserted. But the lights were on! I went in and to my surprise it is a very nice store! I approached the print service center and immediately I was greeted and asked if I needed help by DANIEL! He offered to help me over at the self service center but the machine had turned off. Rather than making me wait for the manager to come over and fix it he offered to just do it for me in the actual print center. I couldn't have been more relieved. Great customer service! Unfortunately in writing this review I am forced to give this company and location one star. With that said, to qualify for one star the requirements are that you simply exist as a company and possibly have an employee with a pulse. I would also point out that I sent this review to dale.larson@staples.com the apparent district manager before posting this review. Once again I have not been contacted I find it unbelievable that a company like this can stay in business with this type of management and their complete and total disregard for the customer. It all started at the beginning of November when I went to the Staples near my home to purchase a new printer. Upon checking out the clerk was congenial and offered the extended warranty. I made the purchase and was then offered a computer tune up for slow PC's. Due to me being a "good" customer I was given an appointment a half hour before the stores normal opening. So I put it in my calendar for the following week. I disconnected my computer the morning of my appointment and went to the store arriving about 15 minutes early. After 20 minutes I called the store and TJ the assistant manager answered. He explained that there must have been a mistake. I left and returned about an hour later after they were open. Upon checking my computer in we verified that I had my photos, music and documents on a separate hard drive. During the check in process I kept being offered different solutions to buy things to which I might have been open to once the offered tune-up was completed but not before, besides I didn't want to invest a lot of money in an older computer unless it would be a good investment . They started the process by inserting a usb stick with some sort of optimization software and said it would take a while, so I left my computer with Staples for the tune up and they said they would call when it was ready. 90 minutes later and I received a message that they couldn't get their tune-up program to work and that it went to a blue screen. No being as technology savvy as I would like to think I went to pickup my computer. When I arrived my computer was unaccompanied with no security or anyone nearby. I waited for over 5 minutes at the computer station before I was approached. They proceeded to return my computer to me and I took it home and reconnected it. When I turned it on it would not get to the windows operating system but was stalled at a blue screen. This was not clearly explained nor was I ever warned of this as being a possibility. I called the store and asked for a manager and was given TJ the assistant manager. I explained my issue and frustration and he said that he would call me back in a few. 4 hours later I called him back and was told that I would have to pay to have the computer they broke fixed. I called the next day and asked for the store manager his name is Adrian. I explained my issue and frustration and he said that he would talk to TJ and he would call me back. He asked that I give him a few days as TJ was off for the next 2 days. One week later I decided to call back as it would eventually become apparent that the Staples in this district handle problems by telling you that they will "call" you back. When I spoke with Adrian he didn't apologize for not calling as stated but said that he would only discount the repair 50% which would be OK if we were mutually responsible. They have misinformed me that it would be impossible by adding a new USB to cause a system crash. They have misinformed me that my computer was supervised at all times. They will however give you 50% off of something that is grossly overpriced and appearing incompetent. At this point I had thought I had run out of any civil way to get my computer fixed. Then I actually received a call, not from Staples however, that would be expecting way too much. I did receive a call from a survey company about my experience. I proceeded to answer all the questions without yelling at the poor surveyor. At this point I at least felt somewhat vindicated and probably would have taken the loss, but then I actually received a call from the district manager, Dale. Dale had me regurgitate my story once again ,he to immediately jumped to a 50% discount off. He then explained that he needed to call and talk to Adrian but that he would definitely call me back in two days just give him time. It is now six months later and Dale has yet to call. I have only had time to solidify my belief that yes new USB installations can indeed cause a system failure and yes within a brief minute a system can be decimated with a few keystrokes. So whatever you do avoid all Staples in the bay area and central valley as they all are run by the same district manager and therefore the same principles. read more

I have been here twice looking for clearance items on computers and etc. Both times the tech people act snotty and annoyed for asking for anything. The lower sales associates are friendly, but when they ask the head guy (a fellow with glasses and relatively young) about coupons he puts on this condescending tone saying they have none left and about how we were too slow about buying them. Its fine that the ran out, but holy shit do you have to talk to me like I'm cheap shit and walk off scoffing. I should have complained to the manager. Their tech team is joke being lead by someone like him. He did this twice. Zero customer service. I merely asked about if a coupon applies to a laptop, and he flies off the handle about how the coupon is old and I'm too slow. I was going to buy another laptop there, but after that i refused to support a store that treats their customers like slow retards. read more

Writing a review specifically on the manager, Chris Pedraza. Staples' price match policy states that it'll price match any item if you show them the lower price and will even give a 10% discount. The manager, Chris Pedraza, refuses to do this. He wasn't even professional about it. He literally was like, "Um... No.. That's not our policy." Uh, yes it is, you uneducated dipshit. Get off your power-hungry high horse and read your own policy for goodness' sake. Seriously, you can't even uphold your own policy? This Staples already jacks up prices, so this is utter bullshit. It's that time of year where as a teacher I scour the Sunday sale papers of each major office supply store in an attempt to purchase all necessary supplies as economically as possible. When you're having to buy 26 of each thing, whether you're paying 50 cents or a dollar for each piece makes a big difference. This week Staples had pencil boxes on sale for 50 cents a piece. My sole purpose for yesterday's visit to Staples. The pencil boxes ended up being a small display at the end of one aisle. They were in an assortment of colors, and right away I thought this wasn't going to work out. I needed to get all of one color (eliminates kids fighting over what color they got), and clearly there were not 26 of any one color. Although I've been to enough office supply stores lately to know that customer service is not what they are known for, I took a chance anyways and asked a customer service rep named Abby. She didn't give me the usual "what you see is all we have" or "there may be some in the back, but they are all in boxes (implying they can't get to them)." Instead Abby called the back, told them I needed 26 clear ones, and worked with another guy to identify which boxes the additional pencil boxes might be in. Less than 10 minutes later, Serge was pulling 4-5 boxes from above another section of the store, and then two other guys (Bahman and TJ) helped him make sure I got 26 clear boxes. And there was another nice guy who helped ring me up, but I neglected to get his name. I explained to them why I needed 26 of the same color, and they totally understood. All in all, very awesome customer service on a Sunday afternoon. TJ even offered to walk my stuff to my car on this hot day! I will definitely come back to this particular location! read more

Customer Service seemed impossible here. Where were all the workers when I needed help with the electronics? No where to be found! Only a cashier and two workers in the printing area. Abby, the team manager was a bit more useful than the rest of the crew, however she was not authorized to approve staples credit cards. That was a disappointment. Ordered a store pick up online on 11/23. Attempted to pick it up today 12/7. Apparently because I took so long, the order was marked abandoned and refunded. They said I should have received a voicemail and an email. No voicemail, no email. I asked what number they called "don't know." When did they email "don't know." They also had no way to show the amount that was charged or refunded even with my order number. At the end of the day, the rep, I think her name is Stephanie, handled it! She handled a rare-form angry Derek perfectly. She matched the Black Friday price based off my recollection of it, so in return I bought some over priced air dust cans there instead of Amazon. Lastly, one of the guys greeted me when I walked in. I mention that because he was literally the only visible person in the store, and was helping someone at check out. Wish I got his name too. I have been getting custom printing jobs done here for years. It's always been relatively fast and convenient for on the fly printing. Due to company policy changes you are no longer able to get printing done when you show up for a quick job. You instead must wait for up to an hour. I had to get one cardstock page printed because of printer failure at home. The kid behind the printer desk took my file and uploaded it, then began to tell me it would take an hour. There was nobody in the entire store, let alone at the printing depot. His manager, who was socializing with a cashier (in a completely empty store) backed the printer employee up, saying they no longer do that kind of printing and it could "take up to an hour" to complete the job. For one page, already in the printing que!?!?!? I didn't even know how to respond. I went down the street to pony express printing. They stopped what they were doing and printed it right away. I will never go to Staples for printing needs or for anything else, for that matter. Strict corporate policies can kill a companies customer service reputation, and in a ultra-competitive silicon valley business world, it can make or break you. I do not recommend anyone shop at Staples for any printing needs....especially if you are in a time bind for a fast printing job. You will leave very disappointed. There is no "0" star rating on this site, otherwise I would have left that mark. read more

This store is seriously slow and does not work. Two registers open with 10 people in line and cashiers are slow and chit chatting. This is why online will run these stores out of town. I really want these stores to stay in business but the Manager does not understand one simple thing - you have to see if customers are moving quickly or not through check out line. read more

I have always felt this Staple's is overlooked by many as the front is around the backside off Hamilton Avenue near Fry's Electronics. The staff has always been helpful. I am usually greeted by someone at the counter near the entrance, which I feel is a nice touch. Sometimes Staples has a some great deals on office supplies. I have purchased some small technolgy items there (memory sticks, SD memory cards, external hard-drive, wireless mouse, etc.) and am very satisfied with their selection. I'm sure it must be tough for them with Fry's Electronics within walking distance of this location. but they do have their niche. read more

Oh man the last time I went to this Staples it was annoying and disappointing. When I grabbed my items I was the only one in line at the checkout and all 4 of 5 of them ignored me! I was standing there for literally a whole 5 minutes without anyone at least saying "we'll be right with you." They would look at me and continue talking to each other or doing something else.
