Stopped by my local staple store today to return some of the Amazon packages and was so excited to see they now carry full party supplies -- balloons (inflated!), birthday cards, gift cards, and even fun balloon add-ons, just like Party City. The customer service here is always amazing -- friendly faces, kind energy, and such a welcoming vibe every time. So grateful to have this place close by. Leaving this review in hopes that prospective customers have a better understanding of the services offered and what to expect when shopping at this location. First and foremost; Staples print and marketing IS NOT capable of offering immediate, full-service production. The production window for ALL orders is 5 business hours, with the option to pay an express fee of 20% for within the hour, which is the fastest turnaround they can provide. Photo printing under the size of 12x18in IS NOT offered. Staples is not a photo center. Orders via email are NOT offered. UPS services are limited as Staples is not a full affiliate; QR code drop offs and comcast/at&t drop offs are NOT able to be accepted by Staples and must be dropped solely at a UPS owned and operated location. Amazon returns are the lowest level of priority for the front end associate as they DO NOT generate ANY revenue for the store whatsoever. Other reviewers complaining about slow Amazon, here's your reason. Amazon does not pay staples, especially not on a per-return basis. Labor hours for staff are strictly regulated and cut increasingly each week, hence other reviews regarding lack of staffing. To be clear; the location is staffed. Corporate simply refuses to staff it fully. Each staff member here is tasked with doing the jobs of 4 people by themselves. They do their damndest, so everyone please bear this all in mind before deciding to lose your cool with a 23 year old retail worker. read more

Im only leaving this review so that hopefully either district managers or corporate might see it. It is not ok to leave 1 employee in the store in charge of running the cash register, the party city balloon station, and the Amazon returns counter by themselves like they did on 6-10. The poor guy was so doing his best, but 6 people waiting to pay while he struggled to make balloon arrangements and 2 other ppl waited for returns is too much. Super impressed by this store! I had a bunch of stuff to recycle, and wanted to get some office furniture. The lady who helped me at the recycle area was so helpful and made the recycling effort "effortless"! The biggest "trouble" was unloading the recyclables off my car and getting it into the store - a short queue, and a very efficient process and I am done! I wanted to buy an ergonomic computer chair, and they had a large selection to choose from. I wasn't sure of the dimensions and another sales associate was very helpful and even loaned me a tape measurer to check out the dimensions! (I am a visual person, box dimensions not withstanding!) Convenient for your urgent office supplies. Terrible location for Amazon returns. There is always 1 person (not their fault) helping both Amazon and paying checkout. Alternating at times to transact both. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to recycle a printer, ink cartridges, and cords. Super convenient resource to make sure old tech or equipment can be disposed of responsibly. All you have to do is line up and an associate will help you with your request. Yet, I wish there was more incentive after recycling your equipment. For those three items, all I got was a $10 off coupon from a $20 purchase, and it was set to expire the same day of my exchange. read more

I feel like it's a 50/50 gamble at this store. Half the time it's spot on (stuff you need, good service, print jobs done correctly) and the other half it's a total crapshoot. I would've given this location 5 stars if it wasn't for the annoying cashier I dealt with when I first walked in. I asked for Ricardo because I needed his help with an issue on a purchase last week. Instead of simply radioing him the cashier was questioning me and had a bit of an attitude. Regardless, Ricardo was awesome and professional and helped me without any issues. The customer service area staff where very friendly. Came in for a price match and showed them the item. They did all the research to get me the price match I needed! Apparently price matched items get free shipping and extra 10% of the price difference discounted on the final price! This review is mainly in regards to their printing services. However, I did shop at their store for some supplies and was instantly greeted by workers upon entering which was welcoming. Their store is well kept and organized and all staff I noticed were wearing masks and they had hand sanitizer readily available, which is very convenient during this pandemic. Their associates who helped me with my printing needs were very helpful and friendly. It was my first time using Staples printing services (previously use to use a different one but it closed). The associates informed me about their self help printing which is now my go to if I'm needing to scan and print bulk items or create pdf documents. And when I do have issues with how it was printed they easily refunded me the appropriate amount of pages. This place will likely be my go to spot for my larger printing/document needs etc since it's relatively within my area. read more

Well... this place must have a terrible location if they're going to need to hold my backpack in the front. Obviously they had problems and suspicions with me walking in otherwise they wouldn't have needed to send 3 employees within 5 minutes of me entering the store after me. Well if you don't want business from college students then do me a favor and leave a sign stating so. Kind of sad that this is the first time *any* store has taken my bag, and considering I do most of my shopping after classes and/or when I'm already out of the house, best bet I'm going to have my bag with me. Doesn't help that a slightly older guy(late 20s? Early 30s?) walked in with one of those messenger type bags just fine. I'd figure that slipping items into those kinds of bags is much easier than a school-type bag. Better yet? My bag was left in plain sight with the 'customer service desk' which had no employees manning it. Someone could have literally just walked up and took it because there was no barricade/gate/blocked entry into it. It's literally right next to the exit as well so I doubt any of the employees near the cashiers would be able to stop anyone wanting to get to it. If I wanted that, I should have just left my bag in plain sight in my car. Again, I mean if this is a store where inconveniencing the customer leads to more profits then surely I wouldn't want to shop here either way. read more

I called and spoke with an employee and asked for an email to send a order too. I walked in two days after expecting my order to be fulfilled. Passive aggressive employee in the printing department told me that's not protocol. While he was on the computer he slammed the mouse against the desk surface several times. Cannot say enough good things about Andrew at this Staples. I had a problem with my printer and decided to get a new one. Couldn't get the software installed after 4 hours with tech support. Returned to Staples and Andrew spent more than 2 hours troubleshooting and trying different things to fix it. I was frustrated enough to talk about getting a tablet and ditching the troublesome laptop. But Andrew's persistence and patience finally paid off and he was able to fix the problem with my laptop and get the new printer working. THANK YOU ANDREW!! read more

I'm typically a fan of Staples, because I find their stores to be organized compared to Office Depot / Office Max. My favorite location happens to be in Campbell on E. Hamilton Ave, but unfortunately this location on Bernal happens to be closer to where I live. I came in here the other night because I had a coupon that had to be used in-stores versus online. I was unsure of what I wanted, so I just wanted to take my time and browse. This ended up being a big mistake, because I was treated negatively for it. Upon entering this location, the first thing I noticed is that it's empty, except for one other customer at the printing counter. I start walking down the aisles, looking at potential things to purchase, and within a 5 minute window, I'm greeted by 5 different employees. Now I'm not stupid, this is the 2nd time I've been followed in this exact location, because they probably label me as a "suspicious character". It was a few months back, so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Everywhere I walked in the store, they had an employee following me, from across the way. I noticed the same employee "cleaning" the shelves, but he had his eyes locked on me, and would instantly look away as I would look his way. It's a shame, that they choose to treat potential customers in such a way. I would rather they come to me, and be up front about it, and simply ask to look in my pockets. I would've liked to shop in peace. From now on, I think I'll just shop online at Amazon or take my business to Office Depot / Office Max. This is not worth the headache, and shame. I suggest if you're young, and/or have dark skin, avoid this location, unless you want to be treated like me. It's incredibly sad, that my experience is not an isolated one. I recently stopped in to pick up some labels for my Brother label machine. I used to shop here more when I worked closer to this store. I noticed they relayed out the store. It took me some time searching around for my item and I finally had to ask somebody to show me where the item was located. I quickly found my labels from there and then proceeded to the check out. The service was not as friendly as it used to be in my opinion. I had my coupon out on the counter and the cashier rang me up without taking my coupon until I asked him to ring it in. He also did not ask me for my rewards member number so I asked him to put that in as well. I hope this is a one time incident because I used to like shopping here more. read more

I had to get copies of all our Will and Trust paperwork. I took ALL my originals to them, it ws a large job. I had each item paperclipped, put a sticky note on each item saying how many copies were needed. They said the job would be done the next morning. No problem. Went back the next day, after calling to make sure it was completed, and $225 later I'm headed home to complete my work. I took everything out of the box to check, 6 items, 2 missing. These missing items were originals, made by my lawyer and notarized. I call.."are you sure you gave them to us?" I came into the store not expecting much. I only needed a simple print job done, and I was blown away by the positive experience and customer service, all thanks to Erin, the person who helped me! I'm really hoping that's her name because that's the card she gave me to email my print job. She was incredibly patient with me as I had emailed an excel sheet to print. While I was trying to figure out how to convert it to PDF via my phone, she had already figured out how to format it herself! She was quick on her feet to troubleshoot and was so friendly throughout the process even though she had many others to attend to. Despite the many customers approaching her, I still felt that she made sure to give me and everyone else more than enough attention to get our print jobs done, no matter the technical difficulties. This online photo printing service is HORRIBLE!! After 6 attempts at placing an order, I have given up. It is not user-friendly and if you have taken the time to scan through many photos in your personal photo file, and selected most of your order, GOD HELP YOU if your finger touches the screen outside of the photo selection view box. Your entire order disappears and you get to start from the beginning!!! After 6 attempts I have given up and will go elsewhere for my purchases. read more
