First Wendy helped me with toner and also walked me through how to set up a login on Staples site. She was so patient with me and went over and above in assisting me. Today I needed to scan some documents and had never used the printers there for that purpose. Talk about helpful Kai walked me so patently through the process and helped when I got snagged a couple of times. It's so rare to find this level of Customer Service these days. Ordered business cards went to pick them up a day after since it was supposed to be ready at 8:30 (they close at 9:00pm) so figured they'd have them today they should've been ready the day before but went to get them in the afternoon, but the cutter for the cards broke. No email no heads up no nothing. They apparently didn't call someone to fix it because their break was about to start and they had to go. Very disappointed on their lack of professionalism and now I have to wait 3 more days. read more

One of the last remaining places I can go to exclusively for office supplies, this Staples location is my favorite. The staff is super friendly and they always have full stock of items I need and on top of that they have other services like TSA pre check which makes this an all in one for administrative stuff. I came to this Staples location specifically to use the Happy Returns service, and I was immediately disappointed. First off, the store is noticeably smaller than other Staples I've visited, and there were no clear signs indicating where to go for the service. After wandering around confused, an employee finally pointed me in the right direction. I then waited at minimum 10 minutes, just standing there with no employee acknowledging me. Meanwhile, a line was forming behind me, other customers were clearly waiting for printing services, and there was only one visible employee working the register. She was doing her best to check people out, but where was rest of the staff. And the employee at the register would look over at the lines forming for other services and not even ask for assistance or employees to come to the front. It honestly felt like they were purposefully avoiding the front area. I saw employees walk by, glance our way, and then look away as if we were invisible. It got so bad that the woman behind me actually asked her husband to go hunt down an employee. Only then did someone slowly, and I mean VERY slowly, shuffle over to help. No apology, no sense of urgency, just a general attitude of indifference. Terrible customer service. Staples seriously needs to reassess how they staff and manage this location. I drove several miles to get there, because the stupid FedEx near me closes when they roll up the streets around here. When I got there, their bloody machine wasn't even working. Second place tonight that Google claimed I could do copying, and it turns out I couldn't. I should've just driven the 15 miles to the house of my friend who has a scanning printer. They have a habit of charging you for bags that you dont want, even if you tell them that you dont want them and at 25c a pop, that can add up. They also tend to be understaffed at the check out meaning you can be waiting alot. read more

I went in to scan some documents and then print them using their self-service scanner/printer at $0.60 per page (it would be twice that price to have their staff scan and print the docs for me). These prices are "highway robbery". I tried scanning, but the self-service machine kept jamming and crunching/ruining my documents every few pages. I was there nearly an hour and couldn't finish my job due to the constant jamming by the machine. I was told it was the only self-service machine they had. A year ago they had two self-service machines, but the Staples management took away the newer, good one and left the older, problematic machine. What a waste of time and money. I am going to stop doing business with Office Depot and go to Office Max or FedEx instead. read more

I needed a print job done and they helped me figure out what paper and lamination I needed and adjusted some of the images to fill the pages better. What an amazing experience we had at Staples on Hamilton and Campbell is so helpful. I'm really took the time to help us complete our project which was a bit of a challenge. Came to do TSA pre-check. The person in charge of appointments was not very pro-active. Just sat there until I asked him if he was the person managing check ins. There are two tablets for people to validate their information and take fingerprints. Overall the process took 10 minutes. You will need to take a photo at the end of the appointment. When I finished my TSA paperwork, I received a coupon for $10 off an in-store purchase of $30 or more for purchasing TSA Pre-Check. It was a very nice deal, so I found a wireless mouse that was apparently so popular that they did not have any more product on the floor, just the display sample. So I took the laminated hangtag for the item to the register. The lady assisting me told me she would just be a few minutes while she went to the back to grab it. She was very quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. Her service alone deserves a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff are a bit lackluster. read more

*****PRO-TIP***** it's cheaper to buy printer ink + paper than it is to buy actual prints here. Also DONT WASTE YOUR TIME because apparently workers here are prone to stressed outbursts. I was highly recommended to this Staples by a friend who spent over $100+ for print outs here. I drove all the way here and I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED and frankly disgusted with the HUGE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had a simple task of 28 print outs and the worker refused my business. I was shockingly REFUSED service by the worker Melissa who works in the printing department. I came in for simple prints and apparently she was "TOO BUSY". When I walked up and waited she asked "Can I help you" (with no intention of helping me! lol.) I said "Hello I just need to print out like 28 papers" then she immediately and SNAPPINGLY said "I'M BUSY. I CANT HELP YOU. I have way too many things to do today. You can leave the image and I can have it printed out tomorrow." I was SHOCKED. WTF, talk about mental breakdown. It's literally just print outs... I was SHOCKED. I have NEVER been to a business and had someone tell me they're TOO BUSY to take your business? WEIRD. Literally they're just copies! All you have to do is put papers and PUSH A BUTTON. It's not rocket science. &It's NOT a giant intricate poster or special project. I just needed SIMPLE PRINTS. I could've pushed the dam button myself. I'm literally required to ASK for employees help to print something out when it's literally so simple and easy. So to be denied service is beyond ridiculous. To be fair, when I walked up she clearly was working on something. But is multitasking is not required? Is it not frowned upon to refuse a basic, simple service???? It was obviously shocking to me. &This tantrum set my whole schedule back a day for the necessary print outs. It's really a huge pain in the you-know-what to have workers who can't even perform the most basic duties of their own job. Like seriously??? The MOST annoying part is I saw 2 other male Staples workers just standing around NOT doing anything. LITERALLY NOTHING. Just standing there like zombies. You're telling me the overwhelmed girl is the ONLY person who can press a "Print" button in the whole building? How ridiculous is that. The funny part is I haven't shopped in a Staples store for a good 5-6 years and I was planning to do future print outs here after a good review from a friend. NOW? Arrived here to complete my TSA pre application! There are two location in San Jose- Campbell and Downtown San Jose. The Campbell location is conveniently in a Staples which has ample parking, which is why I chose this location. It was easy to find since it's on the right side of the store. The stationed worker quickly noticed me and checked me into my 4 pm appointment 15 minutes early. There was no line nor anyone else there for that service. However he told me to go to a separate location in the store 'tech' and someone would help me 'when they could'. I waited with no sign of anyone coming for 5 minutes and no communication at all. I came here the other day to do two things: a happy return and passport photos. The lady was super nice and helpful for the happy return. It was so easy!! And even gave me a 20% coupon for travel and said I could use it towards my passport photo. I go over to the tech services to get my photos done but was informed that the coupon would not work with the passport photo since it's a service? All good. I paid $14.99 before tax for 2 passport photos. The gentleman was very nice and made sure the photos were good (since there are so many conditions for these government approved photos). Overall very happy that I got both services done here at Staples. Fyi, they also do TSA pre-check for $85 domestic. Good for 5 years. I already have mine but once it's expired, I'll definitely come to Staples to renew. read more

I arrived early just in case of traffic or waitlist and Quincy, the staff member, quickly started the process. He was both friendly and well-spoken explaining step-by-step on the tablet. I have been helped twice by the staff for the same size print out, but for last 5 days the staff refuses to help with the same size print out request. One of them suggested me to come back tomorrow while there was still 45 minutes left in store closing time. The next day they said that they don't know how to do it and to check back again with different staff member. The third time the staff member said that they are not supposed to help customers with print out request. Would not suggest this staples if you are on a deadline for a print job. We have a passport appointment for our 1 year old tomorrow and had been trying for a week to find somewhere that would take her picture. Fortunately we found this Staples location! As soon as we walked in we were asked if we needed help, we told them what we were there for and they directed us two steps to our right. The gentleman who helped us was AMAZING, so patient with our daughter, and in the one second she sort of looked at the camera he got a picture. Seriously, life saver, thanks so much! I intended to go to UPS in Campbell to get a passport photo but it was closed despite their website saying otherwise. In a panic I googled passport photo locations & Staples popped up. So this Sunday afternoon I walked in and a young lady at the back counter immediately asked if I needed assistance & when I told her "passport photo" she directed me to a photo area. It's important to note their background for the photo was illuminated which is ideal (you need a lot of light). Amazingly, my passport photo turned out very well. The other times I went to UPS & Walgreens the workers there had incorrect info. For instance, they kept insisting my hair had to be pulled back entirely from my face and my hair behind my ears. This is totally false. And the last guy at UPS insisted that I couldn't smile. Wrong again! So long as you don't have an exaggerated smile, according to the US department website. As a result, my previous photos looked NOTHING like me! Anyhow, this worker at Staples clearly knew what she was doing. No wait too! read more

You can walk in and be lost - none of them will even look up to offer help. U can stand in front then and they won't look up. The Staples Rewards program short changed me $20 in ink cartridge recycling credit and the Campbell store manager on duty 1/14/22 8:00 AM wouldn't help out. Instead, the manager told the cashier to tell me to call the Staples 800 number with the hope that they can resolve it. The 800 number always has a 20-30 minute wait time, so I decided to leave and thus drove home empty handed. Now I'll to have to spend 30+ minutes on the phone waiting to get answered and another 20+ minutes dealing with a customer service rep (which most likely will be a Philippines call center, and we all know how painful that can sometimes be). UPDATE 1/19/21: I called the 800 number. It took 32 minutes in the queue. The Rewards customer service rep agreed that I was supposed to have another $20 in ink cartridge rewards credits. He told me he'd manually add them to my account and I'd see the credits in 1-2 business days. I did indeed receive the credits 2 days later. I was able to use the credits with an online purchase, and it qualified for free shipping. Thankfully I was able to avoid having to make a 2nd trip to the store. Thank you online customer service team! But I'm still disappointed that the store manager didn't speak to me personally on 1/14 nor did he give approval to the cashier to provide me with the missing $20 in credit. read more

To start with their telephone system is quite annoying. When you do actually get someone, you time to get put on hold often. I called to find out if they had a certain quantity of whiteboards in stock. After spending a significant amount of time on the phone with a girl, she put aside six for me to pick up. When I arrived later that day there was a pile of mix matched boards when I had specifically said I needed them matching. I ended up finding the order complete at a competitor. read more

My coworker and I came here with our Vaccine cards in hand, hearing that Staples was laminating them as a courtesy. Coming into the store you can't help but feel a bit sad. The store, lighting and general feeling is tired, run down and burnt out. Her sunny demeanor helped to brighten the space around us and she happily took our Vaccine cards to make copies of and laminate. We chatted while she worked and discussed our journeys to get an appointment for the Vaccine. Once she was finished we inquired about the custom stamps on display and she recommended we check out the website to see more options and varieties. After making our way to the register we encountered Miles. Soft spoken and incredibly kind he took the time to help me fill out an application for their rewards card which saved me money on this transaction!
