My coworker and I came here with our Vaccine cards in hand, hearing that Staples was laminating them as a courtesy. Coming into the store you can't help but feel a bit sad. The store, lighting and general feeling is tired, run down and burnt out. Frankly I'm not surprised after this past year I can understand why the employees didn't seem particularly thrilled with being at work. We made our way over to the faxing and print services where we were greeted by the lovely Val. Her sunny demeanor helped to brighten the space around us and she happily took our Vaccine cards to make copies of and laminate. We chatted while she worked and discussed our journeys to get an appointment for the Vaccine. Once she was finished we inquired about the custom stamps on display and she recommended we check out the website to see more options and varieties. After making our way to the register we encountered Miles. Soft spoken and incredibly kind he took the time to help me fill out an application for their rewards card which saved me money on this transaction! Recently purchased a new 15.7" Acer aspire notebook with 6GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, AMD-A9 chip, 3.8 GHZ speed for $260, previously selling for $400. Windows 10 machine to replace my 11.9" Acer 'travel' notebook, which I purchased as a Friday special at Frys two years ago. Everything done online. This purchase was so popular that the Cupertino store ran out of inventory on the first day it went on sale. So went online, purchased it, and traveled to pick it up in person at the next nearest store in Campbell. They have an online purchase desk at Staples, separate from the long lines at the cashiers of teachers getting ready to go back to school. This is the second computer I purchased at Staples, the first one a desktop several years ago, which I am using to this day. I was using my 11.9" Acer travel notebook at Tahoe Beach & Ski club, on Yelp when I got ominous warnings that the wifi network was unsafe. A virus got onto the notebook, past the Norton anti virus software, and infected it fatally, so that the notebook could not receive wifi. Norton came up with an error message, saying it had detected the virus, but could not resolve the issue. Went onto the hotel's computer on Yelp and got a ransom note demanding one call a specific number to resolve the infection. Next day noticed that the computer had been scrubbed of the virus. Why someone would want to infect my travel computer I don't know, as there is no monetary value in my Yelp account. Not worth fixing a two year old $149 notebook. Tossed it, and doing Yelp on my new computer. Being on Yelp can be hazardous to your computer's health! read more

Wish I could give 0 stars to this place. Not for staples but for the tsa agent they have here. Came twice from over an hour away to get pre check. The first time the system was down. No call or text was given to anyone and there were tons of people waiting. The next time we came back and we were 5 minutes late. The agent said we missed our appt and needed to come back in 1 hour. The TSA precheck rep was extremely rude. I arrived 2 minutes after my scheduled appointment time but he was helping someone else so he didn't turn around to see me until 5 minutes after my appointment time. He then proceeded to tell me I was 15 minutes late because the confirmation says that I have to be there 10 minutes before so he has to treat me like a walk-in now. I never got a confirmation that said it was mandatory to show up 10 minutes before the appointment. Printing customer service SUCKS. I wanted to get business cards printed and online it said same day pick up if you order before 2pm. It was 2:06pm (6/24/19) and I called and asked if i submitted the order if I would still be able to pick it up today. The lady In the print center who was on the phone with my told me there was nothing they could do and it would take at least 24 hours to fill the order, she even told me they wouldn't even receive the order today. because of their "system". I called 2 other staples after and they both confirmed If I ordered online I could pick up same day no prob. I put an order at another staples and now I'm good to go. TLDR: Do not believe them when they say the warranty is mandatory. They are scamming you. My mother, a retiree, bought a chair from the store. When she returned home, she stated she was excited because "there was a promotion where, if I purchased a 3 year warranty on a chair, the chair was cheaper than if I didn't buy the warranty!" I.e., she was told the only way she could get a discount on the chair was if she paid for a warranty. It seemed odd to me, so I looked up the chair online. Lo and behold, the Staples website advertised the same chair, discounted, with no warranty purchase required. This wasn't some special online deal either-- per the Staple's website, I could pick up the chair at the exact same store my mom bought hers! I called the store furious that they are trying to take advantage of vulnerable people. I spoke with the sales person who sold my mom the chair. As soon as I explained what I was calling about, the sales person immediately said, "We can return the warranty." He probably hoped that he could just brush what he did under the rug. I asked, "Why did you tell her that she could only get the discount on the chair if she bought a warranty? The chair was already discounted." "I didn't say that," he responded. "I told her she could get a free warranty." I looked down at the receipt, not believing my ears. "How is it a free warranty when you charged her $50 bucks for it?. That's deceptive. . . perhaps even fraudulent," I said. To the store's credit, they immediately refunded the warranty price, over the phone, to my mom's card. They stayed on the phone with me while I waited for the receipt to be emailed to me. I think they realized how serious the situation was. This is consumer fraud. I came in with a business card order and they had the job done within a couple of yours. They were both very professional, polite, friendly, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. The price was extremely reasonable. An employee with good customer service that comes through as promised is what makes or breaks a business. They definitely made me a fan of Staples! Timely service and a good value is what keeps customers coming back! I have to say that the all the employees , in addition to Kim and Bre really worked as a team. When we arrived the store was practically empty, then it got very busy. Everyone pitched in to get the customers served in a very efficient manner. They dealt with some grumpy people, helped some customers with problems and made it all seem easy. The employees were friendly and kept their smiles ( real ones not fake ones ). There was a great deal going on today which was 25% off any single item. I took advantage of it and pick up a HP ink cartridge I needed. They even had a sign that said they would match the competitors price. I showed the cashier the amazon price and they matched it. The cashier was friendly and the checkout was smooth. I opted for e-mail receipt but she told me the system would do both e-mail and print out a physical one for me. I was a bit disappointed that I could not use my ink membership card I got earlier this year for 10% off. She said it was my choice of which discount I could use. Of course I took the 25% off discount instead of the 10% off. Next year I wouldn't buy the ink membership discount card for $10. read more

Adequate place to get high-quality pens, paper, basic writing and desk supplies. It sometimes ends up being cheaper than online alternatives, and in any case they have been a great help many times, when I wanted immediate fixes. The office furniture is low-cost, and sometimes a very good value, such as the plastic tables with tubular steel folding legs--I love those things for work staging. They are lightweight and only $30-50 or so. But it could be so much better, if the product lines were deeper and higher quality. Also, the store is usually empty, quiet, with strangely unpredictable customer service. I never did get the preferred customer card to work correctly there, nor did anyone (customer service) express any interest in fixing it; it seems like they are just putting in hours until it's time to leave. read more

WARNING: They have the STRICTEST return policy of ANY electronics store that I know of! They have a 14 day return policy, and if anything goes wrong with your purchase after that, you're STUCK with it! It doesn't matter if you have the original receipt or the box it came in. Not cool. Back in December of 2012, my husband got a new hp laptop as my Christmas gift. Well, to make a long story short, shortly after the return policy expired, I kept on getting the blue screen of death more times than I can count. Also, every DVD that I try to play on here from redbox and Netflix freezes after only a few minutes. So I can't watch any movies on here. At first I thought it might've been the DVDs that I got, but after too many of them kept freezing, it's apparent that the issue is with the DVD player and the laptop. I'm the only person who has been using it this whole time and I haven't had any viruses or spyware on this laptop since I do updates and scans all the time with my 2013 AVG Internet security system that I bought at Fry's myself. I haven't installed or downloaded anything aside from personal pics sent from my phone since! My husband tried to fix this laptop, but he can only do so much. I just spoke with the manager there and he told me that the system there won't allow him to even do an exchange. WTH? No wonder they're closing so many stores, their return policy sucks! Their competitors allow at least 30 days for an exchange or return. Even though stores like Fry's charge a restocking fee, at least they're willing to work with the customer. The only thing that the manager John could help me with was by giving me the toll free number to hp. We can send the computer to them and then they'll fix the computer for free. If they can't, then a new one will be shipped to us free of charge within 5-7 days. I sure hope that is the case. This is really frustrating. We'll never shop at their store again. I just hope that we have better luck with hp! BTW, Fry's is across the street from this place, so go there instead! read more

I've got a love/hate relationship with this store. Love the fact that it's close to work so I can grab things I need without traveling too far. Hate the lack of acknowledgment when I'm waiting to get help. Oh, they're also misleading. Ran out of toner one day but Staples offers "next day" shipping online. I call the store to ask when they usually get shipments of such orders & if it's better for me to just ship it to the office. The store tells me they get shipments around 10AM so it depends when our office gets shipment to figure out what's best. Okay so I place the order before the cutoff time for next day delivery & guess what? It was two days before I could pick it up! On top of that, it was after 5PM the second day! I was furious. I ordered something else that week & had it ship to the office.. That really did come next day! Talk about inconsistency. Aside from the messes from online ordering/in-store pickup, this store is pretty well stocked most of the time. They just need to work on their customer service & get their facts straight. read more

I would have gone a third time- except the last time I went; it was about five minutes before opening. I drive by this location of Staples every day when I go to/come home from work. For the last several years, I thought that it was closed. Where the heck do I enter and do people actually shop here? I needed to a burn a CD and I was all out, so the time had come to pay a visit. The location seemed like bizarro land or something. So I've been trying to get a stamp of my logo done 2x already at other staples and they can't because they need a pdf file and I have the original ai vector file. I finally converted my ai to pdf and was happy to go and order my stamp, I got there at 8:45 and the employee told me he couldn't help me because it was too late...yet they close at 9pm. Then he told me they only do rectangular stamps and he couldn't help me because I wanted my stamp to be a square shape.......so that's that. A waste of time, and super limited in what they can do. Busted my comp moving it in the rain (go figure electronics don't like getting wet) so I found a great deal online (fatwallet.com biaaatches!) for an HP quadcore with 20 inch monitor for 600 bucks! Plus they were doing a printer trade in thing where you get an additional $50 off a new printer. Anyway, thought I'd get in, get out, and be on my way to work. This was not the case. They were nice, but everyone was busy and there was absolutely no one on the floor the help me out. Something that should have taken MAYBE 15 minutes since I already knew exactly what I wanted took closer to 45-an hour. Not mad at the staff because they kept telling me they were trying to get to me as quickly as they could, but their floor guy was on lunch. The thing is that it wasn't even unbearably busy or anything; there just weren't enough people working. Please hire some people because having no one to help your customers out on the floor is unacceptable. Would gladly add stars for faster service. read more
