Purchased a replacement LCD for my M1 Macbook Air (Product ID: A2337-SG-N $217.99). I went with them rather than Amazon because the cheap screens on Amazon (mind you, not that much cheaper; only like $40) are Chinese knockoffs while they claimed these are the same OEM parts that Apple uses. Installed fine, worked fine, then right around the 6 month mark, just like those Chinese knockoffs, the screen died. I was in need of an 85W Magsafe 2 charger for my aging Macbook and found this store on eBay. The eBay listing showed a price of 32.95 for a new (with scratches) charger - great! Much better than the 79 that Apple is asking new. The seller profile said they have a brick and mortar here in the south bay, so I figured I'd go in-person to check them out. I get there and ask the staff for the same model. They ring me up for 49.99 plus tax. I tell them the online listing is lower than that and the cashier drops it to 39.99 plus tax, saying he forgot to change it to the blemished item price. There's also no register to see the line item and subtotal before handing your card over for payment. I didn't bother bringing up the listing on eBay to compare until after I got home. A 7 dollar difference isn't huge but it's not what was advertised online so I decided to call and ask them to price adjust. Most vendors are happy to make post-sale changes to honor an advertised price (and they really aren't that difficult to do). I get the same guy on the phone who rang me up in-store. He tells me that's the sale price available on eBay only (really?) and factoring in tax it would cost the same anyways (no it wouldn't). He also said he doesn't have any power to do a price adjustment. Am I really writing a negative review over 7 dollars? Yes, because the cashier didn't care at all. If you do bother giving this store your business, make sure to bring the online listing with you to price match before you buy (or maybe don't bother going at all since it's their policy to charge more for the same item in-store.) Maybe just stick to online sales only if you're going to treat your in-store customers like crap! One more note: The in-store receipt states all sales are final, whereas the eBay site offers free returns. read more

My 21" 2013 iMac was running slow, very slow, almost unusable. So I decided to upgrade it to the latest. But that would cost me quite some.. and then who would but my older Mac without me losing a lot of money. So I decided to upgrade my factory installed HDD to SSD and also upgrade the memory from 8GB installed to 16GB. Challenge is these bad boys are not easily upgradeable by someone like me. You need expert installation (opening up the entire Mac to access the memory modules). I needed someone who knows what is to be done. I brought my MacBook here a while ago to get my screen replaced and they gave me back a squeaky MacBook that squeaks every time I open it and move it and I mean, EVERY. TIME I move it. He wouldn't respond to my message asking for a partial refund or a replacement of the screen to fix the squeakiness. And when I was at his shop getting my Mac replaced I came in to ask how much longer it was going to take and he told me, the customer to go in the back and ask his tech instead of him getting up from watching his Netflix show to ask his tech. We had a flakey issue with a recent generation MacBook Pro,(but not under warranty) with the keyboard going out. James assessed it and as a complex HW and SW seeming to impact FW (SMC resetting didn't fix), they were able to get it fixed ! and at a reasonable expense w/o junking a great computer because the keyboard-trackpad was randomly going out. Since getting the mac back it's been running great for two weeks where the problem surfaced in 2 days of use. Bottom line I would go back to them for any mac issue. I went to this place twice. My old Macbook Pro circa 2013 decided to act up (this is a non-technical term for encountering a black band across the screen when I restart the thing). Now I like this laptop even though it weighs a ton compared to the newer models that Apple keeps coming out with these days. So I brought it to the Genius bar to have it looked at. Unfortunately, the fee for the repair is half the price of a newer model Apple laptop. The Genius person told me it would make more sense to invest in a new one than have this old, clunky thing repaired. Did I mention I love this laptop? Of course, he didn't know that but that doesn't stop me from feeling like I want to pummel him with my old, un-Apple Cared Macbook. Anyway, I don't have the money to shell out that much moolah for a newer one. So I went to Yelp and found this place with good ratings and reviews. I called first and was informed that I don't need to have an appointment scheduled, I could just walk in and bring my problem Macbook with me. That's great! The guy I talked to was friendly and personable. He took an initial look at my laptop and quoted me a much more reasonable price than the Genius Bar. So I left my laptop in their care and they gave me a call promptly when it was ready to be picked up. They also gave me a month's guarantee on the repair they did. Sweet! The next time I went to this place was for the repair of my iPhone 6 Plus screen. But when they looked at it, it turned out the only thing that was cracked was the protective screen. I was quite relieved. I didn't know about the protective screen and had I gone to a not so reputable place, I would have probably been duped to replacing my whole 'undamaged' screen for a good fee. Kudos to this place and its staff for doing honest work, being friendly and efficient and all around professional. I live in SF so I placed an order online with this outfit for a brand new genuine Apple Macbook Pro battery thinking (1) I want to support a local company, which may reciprocate by giving me a prompt and courteous service (the despicable CA sales tax be damned) and (2) I'll get my purchase fast since I need it fast. I was naive on both counts. A week goes by after my order - not a peep from MacBlowouts, not even an email with order confirmation. Albeit, the charge to my PayPal did post like clockwork. A week later I end up calling to be told that my order was received, but the company thought there was an issue with my PayPal account so they just "parked" my order. After looking into it further it turns out there was no PayPal issue (particularly since the full amount was deducted from my PayPal right away) and from all appearances - these numbnuts just sat on my order for no apparent reason. So I shake the order loose and go back to waiting. A couple of days later, a package shows up. It contains a battery draped in bubble-wrap with scuff marks all over and one that's been charged and re-charged 56 times, according to the built-in chip. I call to complain and pressure the company into sending me a replacement, which it does. Another week goes by and a replacement battery shows up. Same sh!t - fewer scuff marks, and lower charge cycle, but nonetheless used, not brand new (which is what I paid for). What have I learned? This outfit appears to be a junk yard. These entrepreneurs will peddle second-hand, refurbished, returned, re-certified and in other ways inferior parts as new genuine, hoping their customers are too busy or too stupid to know the difference. I mourn every minute I had to spend interacting with their CS and to write this review. What a waste of my time!!! Unscrupulous a$$holes. I want 1.5 hours of my life back!!! read more

On April 27, 2017 I ordered a MacBook Pro MD322LL/A 15.4 Inch Laptop (Late 2011) and this is the description they had on Amazon. Well a few months ago I had to have a new hard drive installed and I was looking the model number up on the Apple website and find out by looking up the serial number that this laptop is a different model number from what they said and is 2 years older (MB985LL/A Mid 2009).I think this is false advertising and I don't appreciate it.
