I rated this store 4 stars because of the husband but the wife is a different story!!! I got this glass screen telling me it was very durable. Right if the bet I lost some functions of my phone then the screen started cracking like a regular glass so I called and was told by the wife that there is nothing they can do!!! Update: This computer shop and its owner/manager, Vinh, is so disrespectful of regulations for computer repair shops and the law that they did not have a license to operate when I took my laptops for repair; I found that out later, from city of San Jose dept. for licensing businesses) After a small claims court case in which they lost, they dragged it for long and appealed the court's decision. But even the appeal court confirmed they had to pay for damages. But they refused. So first they operate illegally, then when they lose for a second time at appeal's court they refuse to pay. In short, Vinh and his company have no respect for consumer protection, professional standards, or any other laws in this country. They don't pay their dues to get a business license, most likely don't even have any certificate for repairing electronics, etc. In short, operating as if running a gang of outlaws in Saigon... that disrespcts the law and accepts the laws and courts' decision only if it is in their favor. A mafia-like and corrupt attitude, which I couldn't ever guess when I took my two laptops to them. They are scam artists who should be banned from operating any public business. I bought a new laptop at big-box store and the enter key was not working correctly. I did not want the hassle of returning the laptop as I already loaded a lot of stuff on it. My parents had Vila Computers install Lorex cameras back in 2016 and then later my cousin had some installed by them as well. Fast forward to last week after buying new Lorex cameras from Costco, I called on a Thursday and was able to get Vinh to come out to Fremont the same day to look at the house and cameras and suggest placement with my fiance. Got a quote via phone call the next morning Friday which was the best after shopping around and asking 2 other companies I found on Yelp. Confirmed in the afternoon to move forward with Vila that he and his team were able to start the next day on Saturday. Vinh and his team of 2 others were able to remove 4 old cameras, install 9 news cameras, and route everything including our coax internet cables into the attic in 8 hrs. When I was out in San Jose I was having major issues with my iPhone. I had these problems before I had left for San Jose for quite a while. Although while I was there it got to a point where I would charge my phone over night and the battery would drain out after an hour of being off the charger. I couldn't be without a phone while I was away. Being that I'm not from there I googled a place where I could get this problem resolved immediately and found these guys on google. I wasn't staying too far from them and they told me to come on in after I called. They were very fairly priced for a battery replacement and had it done for me very quickly and my phone was back to normal as soon as they were finished. These guys were great. read more

My experience here wasn't as great as the other reviewers and hopefully it was just me having bad luck. I went to get my laptop repaired here since it was not charging anymore. A year later it had the same problem but the warranty will not cover the costs to repair it again so that was a waste of money. I also bought a router from them that is almost useless. I cannot get any signal past my bedroom and I live in a very small apartment. My roommates can't get signal in their rooms and our living room doesn't get a thing either. read more

I would rate this place lower if I could. I went to them at their San Jose location a while back for an estimate for fixing my macbook. I thought it wasn't worth getting it fixed, but the person at the store kept on calling me everyday and I was convinced. This should have been a red flag. The issue was that I had spilled water on my macbook. It was working ok sometimes, but sometimes wouldn't turn on right away and the keyboard would lag. I paid them and picked up my laptop. When I got home I realized that my macbook wouldn't charge anymore. Earlier this was not an issue. I went back to the store and they said it would be fixed. When they would pick up my calls, the person would disconnect in the middle sometimes. They said the issue was easily fixable. Yet they avoided me for days and just kept on giving another date to pick up. Then eventually I was given a call and told I could pick up my macbook and get some (a small percentage of my money back) even though they weren't able to fix my macbook at all. I was forced to take back some of the fee. The manager at the San Jose location as well as the owner were extremely rude. But wait, that wasn't all. Now my macbook no longer recognizes my battery (Says no battery available). The camera no longer works and neither does the cd drive. All of these things were working before. So they basically gave me my macbook back in worse condition. When I contacted them about this, they said they refuse to look at my macbook. Plus they installed an older version of the keyboard. So, basically avoid this place like the plague! The people are highly unprofessional and lack skills! I ended up having to buy a new macbook and wasted money at this place. This place was recommended by a tech-savvy family member. I have brought my PC laptop in twice for repair since the warranty is long gone by now. The first time was when I pushed too many accelerated programs at once and burned up my video chip. The second time was less than a month later when I accidentally smacked it (pretty hard, it would have bruised if it could) and the hard drive jostled loose inside. I use the heck outta my computer, if you can't tell. When I went in not quite knowing what the problem was, they checked out the laptop, identified the issue, and gave an estimate for free. Which is awesome. Then, they fixed exactly what the problem was and charged what the quote was. He happened to have a spare moment to reconnect my hard drive right there while I waited. I wasn't expecting that! Great!! I've been very pleased with the consistently good work and great friendly service. I'll be bringing my iPhone to have the screen replaced. 2 people have attempted it, but theres like some curse on it that I am sure Vila will be able to beat! read more

RIP OFF. Before I start, I'd like to say Ashwin M. from the previous review got ripped off also. You can order a new laptop screen for around $50(around $75 with shipping included) on www.laptopscreen.com. It takes 5minutes or less to replace it, and they have simple tutorials on how to do it. You just need a screwdriver. As I've ordered, I received Samsung brand screens. Tech is evolving and getting cheaper from previously expensive stuff. Horrible Experience - Summed Up Tried to rip me off by saying he fixed my problem but my computer crashed within an hour. Argued for half an hour trying to get a refund. Lied continually to me. Tried to install unofficial windows software (burned disk). Tried to rip me off another way by suggesting to give me a free trash 30GB HD instead of refunding me but wtf? My custom pc is worth over $1000. wtf am i supposed to do with 30GB? Play solitaire and minesweeper? gtfo. Got my refund except $3 for a "fee." These guys sent me a motherboard that I bought from their eBay store. After hours of trying to figure out what was wrong, it was obvious to me at that point that the motherboard was defective. They refunded me the total purchase price, but made me pay $15 to ship the motherboard back to them. That's bad business - and just plain wrong. I called them, and all they had to say was "that's our policy." Well, if your policy is to make your customers pay for your mistakes then I won't be surprised if you're out of business before you know it. Stay away from these guys. read more
