Wow! What a stop! I got here early before our river trip, hoping to snag some fresh breakfast. Everything was so fantastic. The cinnamon roll was absolutely decadent, and the migas were incredibly unique and delicious. Overrated, me thinks. We went here for breakfast based on yelp reviews and we were disappointed with a capital D. The migas for $10.25 was essentially nachos and cheese. A huge pile of tortilla chips covered with what tasted like canned enchilada sauce, cheese and two poached eggs. An hour later were were hungry again. Note to chef: a pile of potatoes under the sauce would have been way more tasty and filling. Maybe we order the 'wrong thing' but we shouldn't have to second guess like that. The pancakes drifting by looked good but so did the migas until we started eating it. On the bright side, the drip coffee was very, very good. read more

Great service, charming rustic setup, great hometown feel. Oatcakes are great as are all the veggie scrambles and omelet yes, really appreciate the hot sauces they keep around. Our little family stopped here for a late breakfast yesterday morning and what a gem of a place! The sourdough pancakes are awesome, the staff was very friendly and cool about the two kids splitting drinks and food. The lattes were delicious and the artwork amazing (photos new and old of the surrounding wilderness). I will definitely visit this place again and it will feel like coming home! Makes me happy that the firefighters this summer have this cool place to visit every once in a while, because they deserve it! read more

If you are in Stanley you must stop here to eat breakfast or lunch! We had heard it was good and it was worth the wait in line! We had a delicious breakfast with their "Smashed Potatoes" eggs, ham, toast... and best of all an amazing cinnamon roll! The frosting had a fresh zing to it (citrus I think) to balance out the sweet bun. The service was very friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside in the summer air. This little café is absolutely awesome! I had the turkey brie grilled red onion cranberry chutney on vita bread, freshly baked! My hubby had the crag sandwich, egg bacon and cheese on a freshly ciabatta with home fries. He absolutely loved it! We got an almond bear claw and cream filled sugar buns for later. The coffee they get from the Hailey coffee company is superb. I drank five cups the first day were were in Stanley. Today, I restrained myself to four cups. The Kaptain Caveman with two eggs, an out of this world sausage pattie, and their non-grain bread is one of the best breakfast dishes I ever had. My wife loves the pastries and the quino? dish with veggies and bread. I wish we had one of these in Austin, TX. This is the go to place in Stanley for breakfast. You will encounter a line in the morning, but it moves well and there's plenty of seating inside and out. read more

I have been coming here for years & just recently went up to Stanley to find they renovated this place quite a bit. The renovations took away some of the rustic grunge vibe the original place had and replaced it with more of a shabby chic type of look, which is slightly disappointing as I feel the old look had quite a bit more individual character. However, this renovation does not detract from the fact that this is an overall solid establishment. Their menu is so diverse it's hard to find something NOT to like. Wether you're looking for a classic eggs & bacon dish, a hearty biscuits and gravy, or a healthy vegetable-laden breakfast bowl, this place has it! Most recently I tried the "Bear Breakfast Bowl" which was full of flavorful, crisp, and perfectly sautéed veggies with an appropriate amount of brown rice and quinoa in the mix. The portions of everything are extremely generous and all dishes are a very fair price for what you get. Another favorite of mine is their pancakes. I cannot find pancakes like this anywhere else! They are buttery, soft, sweet and perfectly thin-- the perfect treat before a long hike into the mountains. Definitely stop by this place when you're in Stanley. They make very high quality food in a beautiful & bustling setting. read more

Oh my!!! This was one of the best breakfasts ever!!! Fresh, homemade, great service. We ordered the Patty Cake - homemade sourdough (huge) pancake, best sausage ever and an egg cooked as you like it. Service was stellar, friendly and anything you could wish for in a first rate, fresh food breakfast (they also serve lunch). We stayed overnight in Stanley. The line was out the door for breakfast/coffee, so we figured we'd do some sightseeing and get some coffee on our way back through town. Well...we ended up passing back through at lunch time. The line was still long, but choices are limited so we got in line with everybody else. Lunch was FANTASTIC! I love me some gluten free options. They not only had yummy bread available, but they also had banana bread, pumpkin muffins and brownies. They also had kombucha on tap! Try to avoid the tourist and local rush, breakfast after 9am and lunch after 2pm were two great times to stop in. We enjoyed our breakfast very much. What amazed us was the staff, how they worked in sync, and kept the customers flowing in and out the door. Stopped here on our way out of Stanley after a weekend of camping. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming the moment you walk in. I ordered the Crag Breakfast sandwich with bacon and Swiss. The ciabatta roll was so soft and the egg perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the breakfast special, which was a sweet potato and jalapeño brisket hash. This, along with their sourdough and homemade jam, was equally delicious. If we're ever passing through Stanley again, this will be our first stop!! read more

I was disappointed. The "flow" for getting our order was better, but the Sun Valley Special was mediocre at best and way overpriced at $12.50. What a jewel in the Nile. And it's not just a bakery. They serve breakfast all day, and lunch after 11. Very unique offerings, including gluten-free and vegan. Healthy options, creative ideas, and good quality food. The cinnamon buns are excellent :-) The owners have worked hard to keep it clean, comfortable, and inviting.
