My favorite restaurant in the Factoria area! I have only experienced fast and friendly service. They have great lunch specials and a huge menu selection for vegans/vegetarians (which is very much appreciated!). :) My favorite vegetarian dishes to order are the tofu bamboo soup, green mango salad, special vegetarian fried rice, lemongrass tuna fish, eggplant and mushrooms, and any of the fresh rolls! Always passed by this place and never tried it till yesterday and didn't realize I was missing out! Its a true gem located in the Factoria Village plaza. The service was amazing and our party of 6 was seated right away for dinner on a Friday night. They offer a wide range of food options from Pho, noodles, to stir fry veggies with meats and tons of vegetarian options too! I personally liked the General Chicken which was flavorful and came with lots of Broccoli and a really good deal for the price of $10.95. My friend got the Special noodle bowl and also found it to be delicious. The best part was the service here is really good and the waiters are attentive and got our orders placed right away, kept our water filled and brought us extra limes and hot sauce as need. I hate having to write this review. Since Covid came into out lives, I've tried to give more of my business to small, independent restaurants. Today called in a beef takeout order exactly as last week. I'm not sure how to describe the meat but it was totally different than what they served last week. Not even sure it was beef. The best way to describe it is to say the texture was a cross between a meatball and sausage. I decided to call to let them know and to find out if they had changed the beef (so I would know not to order again) or had they made a mistake. She said they hadn't changed the beef and they didn't make a mistake. Huh? I guess she didn't believe me. No apology. No we'll make it right. Not a good way to treat a good customer. A local Jack of all trades! Must try dishes: Vietnamese Crepe, Pho Dac Biet, Duck Noodle Soup, and summer rolls. Square Lotus is a great little spot right on the east side. Distance and location are key in any good restaurant. Seattle has two bridges and legendary traffic keeping me from going into the city whenever I want. Thats why places like square lotus that are located close to me get my business a lot. Their menu is huge and they have so many Vietnamese and Asian dishes all of which are great. So this spot was always solid for service and food but I came for lunch today and was a terrible experience! I was seated around 12:20 pm as a table just opened up from the lunch crowd. Then it took 15 minutes to get someone to take my order. Then 10 minutes later I got a glass of water but no silverware. At 1 pm it was only half full. Finally at 1:20 pm, my food arrived but I still had to go to the kitchen and ask for a fork and napkin. I get COVID but I don't see how this affected the attentiveness and service. I'll stay clear of this restaurant for a year and see if things have improved. read more

I got some of their traditional dishes my friend told me about, and pho as well. (I reccomend the tradional ones - Hue Spicy noodle soup) Effin good. Pho is aight. They are typically busy during rush hour, plenty of parking, and plenty of seating. Their service has been good pretty much everytime I come. You have to get walk up to pay. Only thing to note, they may need to pay attention to clean up a little more (untetils and tables) other than that, I'm a regular. read more

They do have GLUTEN FREE options. All of their phos are GF except for pho #29 - the beef stew. Also, if ordering summer rolls, you have to ask for a GF version, and they will bring you a different sauce with your order and no spring roll crunch inside. They also claim their sriracha sauce to be gluten free, however, the bottle does not claim itself to be free of gluten. So, it is up to you. I personally react to products that do not have Gluten Free sign on the packaging. Overall, I ordered seafood pho and GF version of summer rolls, and as always it was very delicious. Lunch with family. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a great vegetarian selection. Essentially, they prepare a vegetarian version of all their menu items. I decided to order the vegetarian items instead of the usual Vietnamese fare with beef, pork or shrimp. I'm glad I did. I visit Square Lotus quite frequently and I have the following go-to dishes on rotation...my favorite is the Mango Salad-- Mangoes are so fresh and the salad is tasty, crunchy, a lil sweet and a lil salty... I'm also a big fan of jicama and I love the added crunch it adds to the dish. I pair it with some tropical rolls if I'm really in the mood for MANGOES! Had to wait for a friend while I was sitting at table because parking was so difficult to find after 12:00 during the week. The waitress told me not to worry! I had mango salad like I usually do: it was delicious and generous. My friend had the curry lunch with rice, which didn't have too many ingredients except chicken, no veggies, lots of sauce. It was super busy, but service was efficient and friendly. Square Lotus is one of the few places I actually feel okay eating vegetarian. Except when the vegetarian chickens all escape and run away with the vegetarian beef. Then I eat meat, and it's equally delicious. Better texture the next day if you have any remaining to take home. I've never seen a Square Lotus, but as Vietnamese cuisine goes - this is some of my, if not my, favorite on the Eastside. They do solid work and I look forward to eating through their menu. I think one of the reasons I am such a fan is the fact that they are liberal in their usage of tamarind. So few places use enough tamarind. The service is solid. The ambiance doesn't matter. There's enough parking to fill the restaurant three times over. I really like this place and hope it doesn't change. read more

A great option for a tasty meetup/quick lunch in the Factoria area. That Square Lotus Curry... mmm! Delicious. The place is definitely meant for groups of 2-4 and was teeming with people when we dropped by around 1pm on a weekday. Perfect for catching up with a friend and filling up the stomach. They have lunch specials (a good amount of options) that were very appealing and appropriate to more than satisfactorily silence our hunger pains. I had the Square Lotus [chicken] Curry (came with Jasmine/brown rice and a daily soup), which didn't look very lovely, but tasted amazing! It was so so very creamy and perfectly sweet - thanks to the coconut cream. The moment it hit my mouth, the rice and the curry melded perfectly. I had it at the 5 spice level (out of 5) and it was barely spicy - nowhere close to making me sweat (Though for those unaccustomed to spicy foods, it may be quite spicy...? My friend commented that it was spicy for her.). It didn't have many pieces of chicken, but the flavor more than made up for it. Before tax, I believe the lunch special was around $9. Though it is located in a tight area of Factoria, there is enough space to comfortably park (unsure how quickly it fills up, however). It looks like I may not be exploring more Vietnamese options in downtown Seattle thanks to this find. I'll return! read more

No complaints about the food here! Everything was really good! We were visiting family from out of town and my mom suggested this place. She's a very picky eater and can only eat dairy free soy free and gluten free- there were many options for her here so it was easy for her to find something that fit her diet. She ordered the bamboo chicken. I ordered the tofu and vegetables plate- so delicious I didn't even miss the meat. Very flavorful and fresh. My grandmother had the spicy noodle soup- this was also really good and they served it piping hot- just how we like it. My brother for the mango chicken- he did mention it was cold when they first served it but they gladly took it back and replaced it. He was very pleased with it when they replaced it. This isn't a fancy establishment so probably not the place for a trendy date night, but definitely worth checking out for the food. It looked like there was also beer and wine on the menu. There's plenty of seating and it was pretty full when we were there for dinner, so plan ahead as it looks like there could be a wait on busy nights. The waiters were friendly and attentive. This place was an excellent find in the factoria area. Healthy plates with good size portions for a reasonable price count me in. All the servers were so nice! They even picked up my sons toys when they fell. Totally kid friendly. This place was even busy at lunch but they still managed to get us in very quickly. I don't eat at a lot of Vietnamese places because it never hits like home, but Square Lotus? It's the closest restaurant that has ever tasted close to my moms cooking. I've been eating to go from here for a bit since I work nearby, I don't come too often, but I guess it's often enough that the staff are able to recognize me when I come in on my days off. Friendly, quick, & always attentive staff. Then environment itself feels like a cozy little spot in Bellevue & it isn't overwhelming being there either. This is my go to pho spot, it's amazing. Food: I always get pho ga, once I find something I love I stick to it. The portion is very generous, the broth is amazing, lots of noodles, plenty of chicken, and add-in options. Perfect for a cold day. Service: normally whenever I go here it's the same time as the T-Mobile lunch which causes a huge lunch swarm but even then it's rather quick to get a table. The service is quick but you don't feel rushed to eat. Environment: timing matters a lot for the wait time. If you're coming on a weekday in the middle of the day be prepared for a wait because of all the T-Mobile people that walk over. The place is very updated, good condition, nice tables and chairs. Can seat a lot of people but the tables are far enough you get privacy. Price: AMAZING. Pho is typically rather cheap so it's not a huge surprise but I love that I'm so full but it doesn't kill my bank. Would 10/10 recommend. read more
