Sad to see this location have such a low rating! Personally, my experience at Spectrum was great! I am moving to a new house, so I needed to sign up for their service and receive a new router and modem. I decided to pick it up since it was going to be faster, so I went to the Alhambra location to pick it up. It was fairly quiet so I was helped right away. The guy who helped me was really nice and made small conversation, so I wasn't just waiting there in silence which was nice haha. He pulled up my order and put everything I needed in bag. He also included additional cables just in case I needed them for set up. He mentioned that there was a 24 hour service number I can call if I ever needed help setting up. Overall, I had a great experience in the store. Ive been using Spectrum for the past 2 years and I haven't had any real problems. Sometimes it does get spotty but itll reset within a few minutes which is no big deal to me. I also like their online portal. It made everything easy for me. read more

I have spectrum and have been without their internet and TV for 5 days and they can't seem to correct the problem. I called them numerous times and they keep telling me there is an outage, well I'm tied of hearing that there are problems but nothing seems to be fixed, I wouldn't recommend their service cause it suck.... Slow wait times for no reason. They only have one person on duty and they can't get through a single person in 30 minutes. All I had to do was drop off a modem that had already been replaced. I even made a reservation, arrived 10 minutes early and still wasn't helped till 15 minutes after. The person was quick when it was my turn, just severely understaffed. read more

So far, so good. Moved to a new house and signed up for service. The sales guy was nice and did his requisite upselling of bundled services. We opted for a 400 mB plan with Apple TV... talked me into a "DIY self install "... just pick it up at the store and plug it into the wall. I arrived at the nearest Spectrum store and found a decent line. 20 minutes or so, I was in the store, and the CSR handed me a few boxes of stuff. All was well until I got home and realized "plug it in" requires a cable connection to the home. C'mon, sales guy... I literally told you it's a new home, we just moved in, and asked you if I needed an existing cable hook up and you said no. A few minutes on the customer service phone line and Jose was going to be at the house to do the install.... in five days. Frustrating, but I suppose not unexpected. The glorious day came, Jose showed up, drilled a hole through the wall, and got everything working. Speed tests have given my a max of 390ish/25ish, so not bad. It has also fluctuated as low as 35/5, so we'll have to see how it goes. But all in all, it was one of our only local options, and I'm hopeful there will be more good times than frustrating ones moving forward. read more

Actually this place looks closed because the main sign on top is missing they only have a sticker sign on their door plus it's all the windows are blacked out but the lights and furnishings are still there. INSTALL review: Anthony arrived just before 2pm for my 1pm to 3pm time slot. He explained what he was going to install. He listened to my requests and remembered them correctly. Then, he took his time and did the install right the first time. I liked that he was conscientious. If he moved furniture or items in the house, he'd move them back to where they were before he moved them and wore slip covers when he worked inside the house as not to bring in dirt into the house. It took about two hours for him to finish installing the Internet (30 Mbps download / 4 Mbps upload) at my house. He had to climb up the telephone pole to activate the line, then ran cable from the cable box to the front of my house where my wireless router is situated. Before he left, he made sure that the Internet was working properly and that I had wifi signal. Overall, a great install by Anthony. I would recommend him if he services your area (in my case SGV). I like that Charter recently stopped charging monthly ($6 or $7/mo) for the cable modem. Xie Xie!! read more

Customer service is non existent here, which doesn't make sense at all considering the ridiculous prices they're charging on internet alone. Came in to cancel the internet service because $70 a month is crazy. The guy behind the counter doesn't say "hi" doesn't ask what we're here for or anything. Just stares at you behind the counter. When we said we want to cancel the internet, he takes the modem and dumps it behind a rolling crate while mumbling something when he walks back. Then he tosses the receipt at us and says "sign". When everything is done he doesn't even say anything. Just stares at us. I had to ask if we're done to which he just says "yes". No thank you, have a nice day or anything. What kind of customer service is this exactly? And you expect us to put in $70 a month to be helped with this kind of attitude? Overall, it's very unpleasant to have to be treated like this. I've been here twice and both times had very poor service. My first time going in the woman working asked me where I lived and then proceeded to tell me she could not help me; supervisor came out and took over and was able to help, he was great; it's unfortunate he has a poor staff.. I went in again yesterday and was disappointed once again. They just raised my rate for the second time in just over a year. For internet only it's now $70.00 per month. I've been at this address for 15 years and every 6 months go shopping for ANY other internet provider. The only other in this area is AT&T using phone lines, so the service is ridiculously slow and they have very low data caps on top of that. The FCC and the PUC promised competition and it turns out, only to keep voters from voting them out. They won't allow another broadband provider into this area. 73% of America has only one internet provider in their area. Don't get me wrong, the service Spectrum provides sucks big time. Now people are complaining they charge $5.00 to pay your bill in person and wait for two hours to make the payment. Time Warner promised better service and no rate increases if only they were allowed to buy Charter. They promised to pay off the right people after they left office (Ajit Pai of the FCC comes to mind) and the merger was allowed. It's now well documented that the quality of their service went down and their prices went up. When are people going to wake up and vote those responsible out of office? read more

I have no issues with the folks in the Spectrum Valley Blvd. office. They are very good at what they do. However, Spectrum's customer service in the field and their hardware are probably the worst in the free world. My introduction to Spectrum began with their installation. It was something akin to getting kicked in the face. I live in the San Gabriel Valley in a predominantly Chinese neighborhood. Appropriately enough, the Spectrum folks sent out an installation team of 2 Chinese guys, one old guy who barely spoke English and a younger man who apparently decided he was on a break. He sat in directly below my balcony on the bumper of their pickup truck, smoking cigarettes and talking on his cellphone. The visit started off poorly when the old guy knocked on the door. Instead of saying hello and introducing himself, he unhappily looks at me and asks "You need cable?" I said yes, and he immediately walks back downstairs to his truck without saying another word. Friendly dude. After seeing the TV's where boxes are to be installed, he goes to my living room and digs out a big drill bit from his tool box and prepares to drill a hole through my wall, no more than 2 inches away from the existing hole containing the DirecTV cable, after I had already informed him that he would be removing the DirecTV equipment. I ask him "Why are you drilling a hole?" Then he asks me, "Oh, you want to use the DirecTV hole?" Hell yeah, dumb ass. Like I need a 2nd hole drilled through my stucco. So after the 30 minutes, the old guy announces "All done, sign here,,," He didn't put the furniture back in place. The TV stands were still sitting at 45 degree angles to the walls. He didn't program the remotes to the TV's. He didn't leave the instruction manuals for the remotes. He left the old DirecTV equipment sitting on the floor of each bedroom. He made no attempt to gather and stack the old equipment and stack it at one central location for me. And my house was filled with secondhand smoke from the young guy taking his break below my balcony. I was glad to see the old guy and his boyfriend drive away. Then I noticed the trail of cigarette butts on my driveway left by the younger guy. Totally unprofessional. Granted, these 2 guys were subcontractors working for a 3rd party company hired by Spectrum, but why these guys weren't vetted by Spectrum for their ability to provide a reasonable amount of customer service is unfathomable. So in the aftermath of these 2 numb skulls, I'm dealing with what is probably the most archaic, primitive set top cable boxes in the world. Charter's set top boxes are outdated. The user interface (menu guide, setup screens, etc.) looks like it was modeled after the Windows 95 interface. It has as much sophistication as an old NES game console. Anyone coming over from DirecTV will immediately feel the loss of the IMDB-like movie database containing movie synopsis and filmography information. Worst of all, all of my 3 DVR/receivers either lock up or start blinking every 2-3 days requiring them to be unplugged and reset which is a complete nuisance. And oh yeah, there's no whole house option. Whatever DVR you use to record a broadcast is the one you'll have to view it from. I had that on my DirecTV 3 years ago. From an optics standpoint, the picture quality of the Spectrum boxes is worse than the DirecTV boxes with a much more pronounced screendoor effect for fast moving action such as live sporting events (basketball, football, etc.). There's no other provider that offers the LA Dodgers telecasts. The combined cost of my Spectrum TV, internet, and home phone bundled service is far less than what I would pay as a subscriber to DirecTV which is a much better company offering a better product, but at a price that exceeds its value. I've been watching the cord cutting alternatives closely, but nothing provides an alternative means of watching the Dodgers. So for now I'm stuck with Spectrum. Boo hoo. read more

We live in an area which our old internet provider could not supply more then 20 megabytes per minute , now that the kids use Zoom for school my on line work was getting effected. We reached out to spectrum and to our pleasant surprise we found that we can have up to 400 MB per minute in our area we immediately struck a deal and had their tech guy come out to help with installation. Everyone could not be nicer and right now we are one happy family. I highly recommend spectrum services to anyone in need. read more

Really, I wouldn't know what to write about this place. Their office use to be in the alley walkway of the Alhambra Shopping Plaza right behind the Wells Fargo and the Big 5 Sporting Goods store. Anyhow, they recently moved out of the alley and into a main retail store front close to the Top Island Chinese restaurant. I went there to pick up another cable box once as an add on for another television. The customer service there was very cordial... and I didn't have any issues with them. Charter is hidden in a discrete/inconspicuous corner out of public eye, with no signage or marquee to suggest they exist. The manager looks after many other branches so if you need to speak to him/her you gotta just keep calling back/dropping-by and hopefully get lucky. We have charter internet and phone, both are spotty, Just very mediocre service, when it works it is fine , but it will stop working requiring q restart of the cable modem. That has been happening on a daily basis now. The phone service will drop out mid conversation 2-3 times in every 7 calls. Forget the phone service just use your cell. Try to stream Netflix and mid movie it will quit in the first 3rd of every other movie. Since we have an FCC administration that works against consumers, it makes me wonder if charter it doing it either deliberately or though negligence, they have no fear of punishment . read more

Charter has gone hill in both service and price. Price keeps going up and service keeps going down. I have had technicians 5x for intermittent Internet problems. Also they will call you 4x prior to coming out to confirm the appointment and if you don't answer because you did not get to the phone in time they cancel and you have to reschedule??? Why confirm MULTIPLE TIMES????? They bad service and you get penalized for missing ONE call? They also have a monopoly because there are no other providers where I live.
