I visited the Spectrum store yesterday simply to return my internet equipment. This was supposed to be a quick drop-off, but instead I was asked to wait for about 20 minutes without any clear explanation. When it was finally my turn, I was helped by a short-haired Chinese female employee. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and came across as arrogant. It felt like because I wasn't there to sign up for new service, she had no interest in helping me and she showed no patience or professionalism. I only needed to drop off my equipment and leave, but they turned what should have been a 2-minute process into a frustrating 20-minute wait. Returning equipment should be simple, yet this experience was completely unnecessary. I hope Spectrum provides better customer service training, because no customer should be treated this way for a basic equipment return. read more

So I went to Alhambra service center and the lady Xiao Huang told me wait and made phone call to her master, did not do anything on iphone and said it is fine now. Scheduled ON THE PHONE a DAY BEFORE my appointment at 1pm. I got no email confirmation for it, but somehow I had to experience the negative consequences of the telemarketer's mistake? I almost had to wait an hour and a half via the normal walk-in check-in because the first worker refused to help me without a confirmation! Which SHOULD have been sent to me. Thankfully, a different, more helpful worker who priority serviced me for the inconvenience. WHICH IS WHAT THE FIRST WORKER SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE. This review is for Spectrum internet services in general. Spectrum does not have a dedicated customer service department or customer service team. It seems spectrum does not care about customer service; when a customer calls Spectrum, there is no customer service department to answer; all phone calls are routed to salespeople which job is to sale. If you happen to need help with your internet service, other than to buy something from them; they will not help you and most of their sales people are just plain rude and unprofessional. read more

Spectrum as a business itself, I have always had issues with. From living with my parents 15 years ago to now (last month). Employees never get anything right the 1st time. As for this store, ive been here 2x (today is the 2nd time). First time was years ago & when you walk in, no one helps you so you just have to ask around to see what you need to do. The ipad in the front is where you check in, i didnt know that since the ipad was off & there were no signs. I sat around for 30 min before i was fed up & got up. Then I was told a different thing than i was told on the phone & had to go back home & call to then finally have someone say they could have done what i needed over the phone. Today, I am still waiting for my turn. Luckily i knew to sign in but I just see EVERYONE walking in and complaining why its taking so long just to return items when you can just scan etc. i also notice that there are 3 employees working on one customer and one other desk open. So only 2 customers getting helped when there is 15 people waiting. I know idont have a reservation but damn even the ones with reservations are waiting over an hour (i overheard) read more

Poor service and rude communication from some of the staffs I met. No patience to answer customer's question. What worse, the staff gave me a box without any instructions while I made an appointment to take the server I ordered. Not only they don't have a clear process while entering the store, but also they don't give any instruction how to handle the products they give to customer. Only two machines in an empty box. The whole experience was horrible since you even don't know which customer service line/ number to call to activate the router while you are the first time user(s). read more

I was having a couple of issues with the exchanging of my cable boxes for a while so I came in to this spectrum location in Alhambra. I did not know how the protocol went so I had missed the check-in iPad right in front. I thought it was some sort of display model for their newest gadget that they were selling. So once they were calling customers to each desk I had to ask them where to get on the sign in list. So as a PSA to everybody, don't miss the iPad up in front especially if there's a line. When I was in there it seemed like there were a lot of older Asian customers where there was a language barrier and I could see how some of the guests and the workers here couldn't communicate all that well. I eventually got helped and the experience was fine. A tip for myself in the future or anybody exchanging boxes, make sure they give you the correct region of box you're in or it won't work. Parking: lots of parking out here but it can be a bit chaotic. read more

Ordered internet service in late July of 2024. Equipment came quickly, but after 3 service appointments and they still couldn't get me connected, I decided to return everything and stop trying. Each service technician gave me a different reason of why they couldn't do the job, asking me to reschedule and "the next guy will take care of it". The 2nd guy (Daniel) gave me a different reason than the first guy (Rex), and said the first guy didn't know what he was doing. The third guy (Gary) said the first two guys were lying, but to "trust him" because he knows his stuff! I asked him why should I trust him more than the other two guys who also wore the same uniform and drove Spectrum trucks, he had no answer. When they tried to have me schedule the 4th appointment, I asked to speak to the manager "David", told him that I will not waste any more of my time, and he has a quality and training issue with his techs. Either that or he has 2/3 of incompetent staff. So I called the main 800 number to return the equipment. I got transferred after the initial step was completed, then got put on hold for more than 100 minutes before I was able to complete the cancelation process. UNBELIEVABLE!! If you want to save yourself from frustrations, do NOT do business with Spectrum. read more

Staff working here need to be trained on customer service or consider going into a different field. Some rude employee named Bryan yelled at an old man who could barely walk. The old man said it was stupid that he had to hobble to check in on a device that wasn't even on, and Bryan got angry, thinking the man called him stupid. Anyway, Bryan got really aggressive and should definitely not be working with the public. He even told the old man to report him to his supervisor bc he didn't care. Horrifying customer service. 10/30/2022 Open on a Sunday, that's good. There is a wait even if I'm just returning an item. Put your name on the tablet as you walk in at the door. The Duarte location asked what I needed help with as I walked in. Didn't even need to touch this tablet. At least put on one of the games while customers wait. Chargers close to the seats but bring your own charging cables. Still considered average rating for this location. I need to take the drive to the Duarte location. Last July 3, 2023, I walked into the Spectrum Store in Alhambra. I was assisted by a clerk named Ni Chen, and I simply asked for help transferring data from my old phone to a new one. Instead of offering assistance, she immediately asked if I had purchased the phone from their location. When I responded that Spectrum was my carrier, she seemed uninterested and dismissive. She told me their WiFi was down and suggested I go home and "Google how to port over my data." I explained that I came to the store specifically because I needed help and did not feel confident doing it myself. Then I told her if I am able to do so can I return the unit in this store. She started mumbling and told me to go to another store for that. She said there were many customers waiting and then proceeded to ignore me and called the next person in line. She is an example of one employee who is there for the paycheck. Such a disgrace to be in the customer service industry. She needs to take a refresher course in customer service 101. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!! I went in a few days ago to try to finance the new Iphone. My father authorized me on the account so I wouldn't have any issues going in. I was asked by CHAO what I needed. I explained what I wanted to do and he basically laughed in my face. He said a lot of scammers come in trying to purchase iphones. He said being authorized is easy and they aren't allowed to finance an iphone. I was so confused since I went to the Atlantic location and I had no issues there. CHAO said they were trying to scam me. He seemed like he didnt want to do the transaction for me, or even help me, but I made sure he would at least try. We went to one of the registers and he asked for my father's ID. Keep in mind I AM ALREADY AUTHROIZED ON THE ACCOUNT, why would CHAO need my father's ID when I could just use mine. He stated that the IPHONE is a big purchase and they could get in big trouble if I use my ID. He was so rude when I said my father is not here so he can't give his ID. CHAO had the audacity to ask where he was at, my father is at work why else would he not be there with me. I then had my father on the phone and CHAO was talking back to my father about how he won't give him his ID that he is trying to not give any problems. First of all, I am authorized on this account so my ID is all that they would need. CHAO then said he did not want to help me anymore and then I asked if I could speak to the manager. CHAO said there were not any managers after 5:00PM, then he said he is not going to do it since he could get in "trouble". CHAO then turned to his co-worker and asked if he wanted to do it instead. STEVEN was his name said that he was good that he didn't want to help me. I was mind blown at how rude they both were. I then left and decided to go to the Atlantic location in Monterey Park. It turns out that STEVEN is actually the manager at the Alhambra location, so they just did not want to help me. The fact that both of them lied about a manager not being present is horrible. The spectrum employee at the Monterey Park location also told me that everyone has had horrible service from both CHAO and STEVEN. They did not want to help me because they were just lazy and that they would not make commission off of my purchase. I appreciated their honesty and I will be going to corporate about this issue. I understand that the Alhambra location is predominately Asian, and that both STEVEN and CHAO are fluent in Mandarin. That is probably why they are still there. After seeing that CHAO has been working for that location for 2 years is unprofessional and it makes spectrum seem like they do not care how their customers are treated. I hope both STEVEN and CHAO read this review to remind themself that how they treat people in general is a reflection of who they are as a person. I truly hope corporate or the District Manager will act on this issue, as well as other proof according to the reviews through here that other people have had. If you need to go to any Spectrum, the Monterey Park location is great! It is a much better option than this Alhambra one. read more

Extremely poor service, our internet has issues, called Spectrum customer services line, was instructed to walk-in to exchange for a new cable internet modem. I was expected just walk-in and out for exchanging, NO I was wrong ! Waited over an hour there are only 3 employees works there, and there were only 3 ppl in front of me, looks like they are much willing to help out the customers with cell phone problems (average 30-60 minutes per) than just help customers want to exchange equipment (5 minutes) I asked the manager-like person (Chao?) he just sitting there doing nothing , he just replied "did you make an appointment?" No, of course No! Our internet just crashed and I am willing to take my work off early and on my gas expenses to get it done without having Spectrum sending technicians over. he's not even helping at all just sneak out to the back door. Spectrum Wi-Fi customer service sucks dick. They rob from customers that are on low income

I've had spectrum for many years, mainly because they were the only ones in town that serves the area. They bought out my previous company, Time Warner cable. They offer attractive rates for their cable, phone and internet plans especially when you bundle however once the promotions end, the rates keep going up. Also, a lot of nickel and dining, with lots of fees including router Wi-Fi fees. I cancelled the cable portion a while ago but kept the landline and internet as they gave me another promotion to keep me with the company. However that ended along with a strange rate increase for no good reason has me cancelling them. And boy once you do, they hound you via calls, mail and even send out their reps to your house to ask if you're interested in their services. Wow. Only reason got 2 stars is that the service itself is pretty good, fast and reliable. Well, except for the random downtimes. read more

Worst internet service ever. Ever since Wednesday we have no wifi, so we had to rely on cellular data on our phones since we couldn't get access to personal hotspot. When we called Spectrum, they lied that there were no wifi issues and even after 24 hours they refused to fix it. Deceptive internet and cable practices. New customer to Spectrum. Settled for the Xumo boxes and internet. The internet kept going down and had to reset the Xumo boxes. Xumo boxes are complicated to maneuver and does not show you a new episode. Canceled the internet and now still being billed for internet as you can't have Xumo boxes without Spectrum internet. There is no indication on their website. Canceling cable. Don't waste your time and money. read more
