TERRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD. I placed a group order to go. Person on the phone taking order was very rude. She was yelling to coworkers at the same time than me and she did not understand anything I was saying. When we picked up the order everything was pretty much just thrown into paper bags, no boxes were sent with the food and to make everything even worst food was flavor less and extremely greasy. Outside seating area is excellent, with beautiful gardens, walkway, arbor and umbrellas even had live music one evening. Happy hour had great prices and drew us back for a second visit with additional family members. The appetizer nachos were awesome, street tacos were very good, burgers were made of excellent Angus beef and the Parmesan garlic fries our kids loved. Our waitress was fantastic, and did her job very well. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone, it is an excellent visit for adults, or families. read more

The waitress asks for me and my two friends IDs. we're from alabama and i just moved to colorado. my birthday is dec 27 i'm 23 years old and i just got my new horizontal license in the mail. after looking at our IDs for a while the waitress takes all of our IDs to the bar managaer. Before she takes our IDs over to the bar manager I ask her if I need to go get my passport which was in the car. she said yes that would help. by the time I had gotten back from the car that was in the parking lot 30 feet away they had bent my ID in half trying to see if it would break. it didn't because it's real and i had my passport to prove that if they had waited 30 seconds. They put my ID in my passport and the waitress handed me my passport so i didn't immediately see what they had done. Kind of shady for them to hide it in my passport.. I went to pay and remembered that I hadn't seen my ID in a minute and that's when i found it bent in my passport. it made me so upset and the managers were so rude. the bar manager had an awful stink face the entire time and the worst attitudes. they were incompetent and they told me that they had a right to bend my ID like that and damage my personal property because they get stings from the police and they have a lot of out-of-town customers???? like what?? how does that become my problem? I had the waitress tell the manager to come speak to me. he got over there and I explained why I was upset and I showed him my ID and how bent it was. he said he was sorry but he has never seen a real ID that can bend like this. ESCUSEEEE MEEE????? I whipped out my passport so fast and had him verify my name, address, and birthdate AGAIN because that was absolutely ridiculous. So insulting. was he really trying to doubt me a second time???? it was disgusting they had nothing but excuses and they didn't even seem sorry. this isn't how you check to see if peoples IDs are valid especially when you have a restaurant in a tourist town where you get a lot of out of town customers. Don't miss this place if you are in Avon, CO. So many choices for cocktails, great little patio, excellent service, and great appetizers. We only stopped for the music and ended up staying all night for drinks. Finally needed some food and ordered the nachos -- perfect for what we needed at the time. Didn't taste that burnt or I'd have sent it back, so not sure if it was intended to look that way (blackened?). I ordered the "special"...A burger and fries for $7.95. The burger with cheddar and fries was average. I would not get the 2000 island dressing on it. Make sure you read the menu carefully. What I thought would be a great experience turned sour very quickly. 1- it took 20 minutes to get our drinks 2- it took an hour to get our food which was inexcusable when a large group which was seated long after us got their orders before us. 3-burgers only ok,one had lots of hair in it. Benderz is now located in the same location vacated by Boxcar just on the other side of Christie Sports in Avon. We had the Philly and a burger with fries. The food was quick and delicious. I rarely have trouble finishing what's put I'm front of me but that Philly had so much meat I could only eat half. The prices are very competitive for the Avon/Vail mountain area.
