    Pork Carnitas Nachos

Great food truck experience! Pictured are pork carnitas nachos. This was only half the order, because I dug in before I remembered a pic! They were fantastic! Highly recommended! Burritos were very good too! Awesome grab & go option. Fast, friendly service with a cool vibe! Check this spot out!!

4.5, Tasty food at a good price! We were staying f nearby and over the course of two days, we tried the carnitas burrito, the hippie crack breakfast burrito, and the chicken breakfast burrito. All were good...the carnitas was cooked very well and the hippie crack had a ton of flavor. Definitely don't forget to grab some sauces before you leave -- those are excellent and really completed the burritos! We also got a "side" of guac that was absolutely massive and came with some delicious homemade chips.

My shuttle driver, Paul, in addition to pointing out several elk on our way from the denver airport, shared his all time favorite spot to eat in town. He also recommended the torta he'd get nearly every day, the "Hippie Chick". However, when I saundered up to this food truck along the tracks, there was no menu item of that name. There was Hippie Crack, and White Chick, and so I came to a crossroads. I went with the White Chick Torta, and dear god, it was divine. I mean, dude, this torta, unlike the seating outside this place, was off the rails. The chicken was bursting with flavor, the lettuce provided a nice crunch and hydration, and the bread ooooh SNAP the bread was perfection. But if the bread were bed and blanket, that crema was a wet dream... I take that back. I just mean, it was delicious, nah not like that bro, just, get it! So naturally, I inhaled that first sandwich, and the seared jalapeño that came with it, then strutted right back to the truck and ordered another. This time I got the Hippie Crack Torta, a vegetarian option that was equally surprising. Both times, my food was ready within 5 minutes - it helped that there was barely a line, but stellar service nonetheless. The guy working the counter even let me practice mi español with him! And while we're on this tangent, the salsas were excelente! Every one with a unique flavor and some with more heat than others, my favorite was the chipotle. Alright, this is starting to read like a newspaper column so let's wrap it up - Hippie Crack was not as good as the White Chick imo, but that might just be the meat eater in me. The avocado sauce inside tasted a little off and the red potatoes were more like undercooked/undersalted french fries, but I inhaled it still. The texture of the food here is unbeatable, and I'd say that's reason enough to give this place a try. Muchas gracias Rocky Mountain Taco! Cinco estrellas!

Best place for tacos & burritos in Colorado! Amazing prices, amazing service, amazing ambiance and of course, amazing food! It's a food truck that is next level and has outdoor seating but it's also attached to the vail brewery. $3 Tacos! Whether you're with family or with friends I highly recommend coming here! You will not regret it! They also use corn so the tacos and chips are gluten free.

Yummy tacos! Disregard the nachos as we just bought their chips and made our own when we got back lol. But the pork tacos and quesadillas were my absolute favorite! Service is good and fast. Nice guy that had great recommendations. Just a cute little taco trucks that is near the old railroad tracks. I recommend!

We ate at the Rocky Mountain Taco truck today for lunch and it was delicious. The torta was so good, the bread so soft, I could hardly hold it. It's a big torta. The pork carnitas tacos were the best we've ever had and we eat them all the time in Dallas. Highly recommend this place and their food.

This taco truck was a good stop. The guys enjoyed carne asada burritos, I had two tacos, one with shredded white chicken, the other carne asada. I also had a Jarritos soda pop. The food was ready very quickly! It was near a bus stop and river overpass and the sound of the river was nice. They have house made sauces for you to try, I found them rather mild in general. It was a good stop and very affordable. Try it out. Apparently there are a few other locations to visit in the area as well.

Always a must visit everytime I travel thru Eagle/Vail/ Avon area. The Alambre burrito is always perfectly made to order. On a nice day beer garden table chips and guacamole matched with tasty beverage from Vail Brewing Company can't be beat.

After reading reviews, I was expecting this food truck to be good. But I wasn't expecting it to be THAT good. We were staying at the Westin and wanted to find some lunch close by. There was a little bit of a line as it was prime lunch time, but it was well worth the wait. I ordered the alambre torta and was blown away by how delicious it was. The carne asada was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The avocado spread that they put on everything is insanely good. The bread they get from a local bakery, and it just fell apart in my mouth. I love all the sauce options they have - I highly recommend the spicy sour cream. My friends also really enjoyed their tacos and even went back to order more. The staff working was very friendly and made good conversation with everyone who ordered. Definitely returning here in the future. I would stop in Avon just to eat here!

Good tacos and Mexican foods from a truck. Rocky Mountain Taco has a few locations and we went to the one in Avon. Friendly staff and the food was good and wait was only 5-10 minutes. I had a quesadilla and it was good. Mountain prices certainly but the portion was enough to be filling. Some different salsas to try.

Avon has lots of roundabouts with very little signage. The front didn't look promising until I noticed the great looking well shaded patio. Walking inside, I was greeted by a large bar with comfortable seating. Up a short flight of stairs was another dining area and the kitchen. Unfortunately, they had only 1 server on a Monday afternoon, so the patio was not available. I was served by Monica. Her manager assisted. I sat in the upper room, starting with a draft of Pacifico. Nice big menu with standards you would expect in a burger place. Most of the customers were locals with a few groups of tourists. I ordered the single (6oz) burger with pepperjack cheese, mushrooms, jalapeños and small side of shoestring truffle fries. The burger came with lettuce, tomato and red onion for no additional charge. Very good burger, cooked medium. I asked Monica about their desserts. She recommended the chocolate cake. I got a large slice with fudge between the layers and on top for only $11. I skipped the vanilla ice cream. As I was paying the bill, I noticed an increasing number of servers arriving. Happy Hour is 2-530pm daily. They have drink specials Mon-Thur with extended hours on Thursday. They add a 4% Living Wage Fee for staff. Clean restrooms.

I consider myself a professional diner...meaning I am out 3-4 nights a week, and Northside Kitchen is my most favorite restaurant in the Vail Valley. I usually dine at the bar where either Connor or Brandon are not only offering service with a smile, but are also welcoming everyone who walks through the door! Their custom cocktails are awesome, but I go for their insanely extensive wine by the glass menu!! Caymus, Silver Oak, Duckhorn, Quilt, and about 40 other high end wines are all offered by the glass at Northside! Both 6oz and 9oz pours are available. The dining staff, are professional, pressed, and knowledgeable about wine, food, and professional fine dining service levels. The dining room offers beautiful white linen covered in butchers paper, with the perfect level of lighting to see both the menu and the guests you are dining with. The dining room and porch are modern and clean. The menu items, created by Chef Noah Bender, are delicious! Hand cut steaks and Prime Rib are favs, but don't be afraid to try their pappardelle Bolognese or the fantastic fresh "sea to table" black cod or trout! It's dynamite! You will find the service in the dining room attentive yet not overwhelming. Northside Kitchen to me is one of the most underrated fine dining restaurants in the Vail Valley!! Some items on the menu are still solid, but other dishes have definitely declined. I understand that it likely has a high turnover, and when new cooks come into the kitchen, the consistency just isn't the same. That's unfortunate. The donuts, which used to be the best anywhere, don't taste anything like they used to. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, or if they have changed the recipe, but I only had two bites of the old fashioned and didn't bother finishing the rest. My husband's birthday breakfast--a $16 breakfast sandwich--was also very disappointing. It came without the sausage or the hollandaise sauce. The sausage was brought out later, no hollandaise sauce, with blame placed on the new cook by the lady, running the show and behind the bar. It was essentially just one scrambled egg sandwich with cheddar cheese. It was tiny tiny, and he only ate about a quarter of it. So, we are now having a second breakfast at home. Even more disappointing than the food was the woman running things, behind the bar. We didn't catch her name, but she was unbelievably dismissive and rude, which really soured the experience. Normally, when Jim, the owner, is there, things run much smoother. He is great, and we always enjoy talking with him. Unfortunately, today was so disappointing that we will not be returning. Wh
