This is a cute, affordable option in Vail! The food was good and service was fast. We sat outside on the patio and it was pretty hot in July. The atmosphere and decor were very cute

Super friendly staff. Really well seasoned food. I ordered a spicy dish of pollo da la Diabla which was really good. The measure of a restaurant for me is their rice and whether or not it's seasoned and flavorful. Here is was really good. They were attentive and nice. As a compliment to their hospitality, it started raining when I was there and they rushed out to close the blinds to the patio to ensure I didn't get wet. I want to bring my wife and kids here when I'm not at a conference.

Pretty good. Price reasonable. Had chicken enchiladas and they were okay. There's a nice variety of other Mexican dishes, so if you're in the mood for something, you'll probably find it here. Outdoor seating is nice in the warmer weather.

A low number of reviews always concerns me, but this place was great. Chips and salsa right when we sat down. The medium margarita was HUGE. Everything was terrific and the waiter was super attentive. If you want some good food at a more reasonable price. Try this new place!

    Greasy fajita chicken salad

I love a good fiesta / fajita / Mexican salad. The chicken fajita salad here was by far the worst salad I ever had. Drenched in grease and the "mixed greens" are just a few sprigs of iceberg lettuce. The location is just a little odd too and could use more attention for the ambience. No draft beer. Only came here because side my husband really wanted Mexican. He couldn't finish his food either because of the amount of grease. The server was very kind though.

The dining experience exceeded my expectations. The food was excellent, bursting with flavor, and the house margarita was simply delightful. The attentive service added to the overall enjoyment of our visit.

Was able to go back for dinner tonight and so happy we did. Service was great, food was delicious. Carnitas was tasty, servings were huge, guacamole was fresh. Will defiantly be back. A great addition to the Lionshead area. A must for a apres ski!

    Excellent!

Visiting Vail for a quick getaway a few weekends ago made me realize (again) that this mountain…read moretown renowned for exhilarating outdoor activities is a foodie destination with so many options to choose from Michelin-recognized restaurants to something more casual. And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient; even though we stayed for quite a while to catch up, we felt welcomed and well-attended to the entire night. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

The gondola is cool because we had our own speak to play whatever we pleased! It felt very private and intimate which I really enjoyed. I loved the decor throughout the restaurant and our gondola had cute little touches as well. For example they had a coo coo clock that when off every hour. For drinks I tried their feuerzangenbowle and the muled wine. My husband got a Hugo spritz and jagertee. I loved my drinks the feuerzangenbowle uses flambé which was so cool!, it's pretty similar to the muled wine. Muled wine is always a favorite of mine when the weather gets cold! Our server was awesome and super attentive. He answered any questions we had and was very friendly. The gondolas have a set menu we ended up ordering more that was on the set menu since I wanted fondue and my husband wanted the raclette. We added on a fondue, ordered the raclette that came on our fixed menu and added on steak, along with the pretzel that comes as an appetizer. The food was really good, I think it is also just so cozy and suiting for the cold weather! Fondue and raclette are also just such a fun way to dine! Highly recommend and definitely will be back just to try the standard experience too without the gondola.
