Came back to Minturn Saloon after many many years and although the place looked different from what I remember, the food did not disappoint! I would describe Minturn Saloon as local hangout spot with great food. As soon as we came in we were greeted and showed to our table. Our waitress, Tasha , was so friendly and gave us the story about the recent remodel and talked to us about the menu. We quickly ordered our drinks and chips and salsa and by the time we were ordering our entrees they had already brought our chips and dip. We were 6 people dining and everyone got something different. We all loved our meals! I had the fajitas and they were amazing! Others for the enchiladas and tacos. Everyone was satisfied we also ordered the cookie skillet and the brownie skillet to share for dessert! Both were delish!!! Why The Saloon does not have 4-5 stars is BEYOND ME. It should. It's exactly what it's supposed to be, a fantastic casual restaurant and bar. Live music, great food, fantastic drinks. If you are thinking about eating here. Do it. The service is great and the waiter was funny. My husband and three kids ate here and they even had drawing tablets to keep the kids entertained while we drank a pitcher of margaritas. I had the enchiladas - fantastic. My husband had the quesabirria and he loved it. The kid food was perfect - maybe order extra fries for skiing all day. Enjoy!!!! read more

My first time back today after new owners renovated this historic landmark in adorable Minturn. I have so many great memories dining here with my nanny family when we went skiing in Vail. What a wonderful renovation! They kept the warmth and charm and celebrity autographs with a much needed upgrade to the infrastructure and aesthetics. The food is better than I remembered, still Mexican themed but seems more polished. I had the smoked ribs which melted in my mouth and my partner had the birria tacos, both sublime. And the service is amazing as well. I had made a reservation a few weeks before on Open Table for 5pm but called this week to see if they could squeeze us in at 3 as our hotel check-in was 4 in Eagle. The hostess said the dining room was bought out but that I should come right at 3 when they opened and she'd make sure I got a seat. It was perfect. She and our server took care of us and we were able to dine before it got crazy busy with the apres ski crowd. Will be back! read more

We went and all got duck fajitas and the wait was forever and the food was expensive and just fine. $50 for just me after fajitas and one beer and a 20% tip. Not exactly how much you want to spend away from the ski areas, but at least it was a lot of food. The server put all four of our checks together for some reason, odd assumption that took an extra 10 min to be fixed. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Guy at the front was not friendly. Food was terrible. French toast from the brunch menu was hard and chewy like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The chilaquiles was a huge skillet full of soft chips and enchilada sauce that tasted like it can out of a can! There was hardly any meat with one egg on top. Salad was ok, but not a $20 salad. The value wasn't there. 3 mediocre entrees and 2 draft beers for $100. Edited to respond: inflation impacts everyone. This place is a normal stop for is when in Vail. Liked the atmosphere food was decent. They have updated the place and it looks very nice. Service is still pretty good. But I guess they need to pay for the updates because prices have gone up a lot for what you get. A drink even bottom shelf tequila and water is $14 bit pricy in my opinion. But the thing that bugs me is I could get fajitas for $25 with salsa and beans and rice. Now I am spending $40 for fajitas no beans or rice and the worst is a tiny container of salsa is extra $2 extra. Why do I have to pay that much extra for something that should be included with Fajitas? Probably won't be visiting again. Sad. Oh just to let you all know the menu has been cut to a quarter of what they use to serve. The fajitas were decent but could use more seasonings wasn't very flavorful. read more

If you blink, you might miss this gem of a Saloon. The town of Minturn isn't very big, but it's an awesome town! We stopped in this past week. Sunny day but a little chill in the air. Decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Our server came right over with water and chips and salsa. Took our order and off we went! I can tell you the margaritas here are delicious! We also ordered guacamole for the chips. That was a little pricey at $8 for a small cup of guac, but it was very good! The atmosphere and decor is great! July 2019 Heading east through the Rockies Andra and I took an adjacent road to the freeway thru some towns in Vail Valley. Came upon the very cool town of Minturn when, lo and behold, a saloon popped up right in front of our eyes! Not just any saloon but The Minturn Saloon. Had no idea...3pm on the dial so we were thirsty. Andra said, "Let's go have a beer or 3, if we're lucky the bartender will have some good recommendations." We got lucky as Bartender Cory(?) gave us the real deal spot to stay for the evening and where to go for a good steak. Good time shootin' the shiznet with him and a couple of local gals at the bar.
