What brought us in as visitors to this lovely city was of course the trolly tours and on the map was a coupon for buy one get one free Philly cheese steak sandwich. We took our college group here tonight for dinner. About 15 of us stopped by at 6pm. There was only one table being used and the rest of the restaurant was empty. We walked in, and ordered our food, we ordered everything from Philly cheese steaks to cheese fries, chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks. While we were in line a man walked up to the register and asked a question and the employee at the register scolded him and told him that he would serve him after he went to the back of the line and waited for his turn. It was kind of shocking. I agreed with his decision but not at the cost of humiliating the customer. We received our food, it was decent. I went up and asked for mustard and the lady at the register gave me a look like "why would you ask for mustard?!" It was odd. Then the worst moment was when one of our friends tasted their ranch dressing. It was spoiled. She asked a few others to smell/taste it and we all agreed that her ranch dressing was soured. She went up to the counter, waited her turn, and then asked for another ranch explaining that hers tasted bad. The man who was rude earlier began to tell her than there was nothing wrong with her ranch, and that it was the exact same as the other persons ranch at the table. It certainly was not. We all tasted both. He was very rude to her. Talking to her like she is stupid for simply asking for another ranch. She literally came back to the table with no ranch dressing, shaking from the confrontation from this employee. Very disappointing service. The cheese steak was pretty good, but don't expect quality service at this spot. We received one cheese steak, three chicken tenders, one mozzarella stick and a bad attitude for $61.41. Hubby and I each got a cheesesteak and we shared an order of fries with cheese whiz. The fries were good, but the shining star was definitely the cheesesteak. They have fountain coke products and you serve yourself, but there's a sign on the machine stating only one refill per customer. I really hated this because hubby can drink his weight in soda. I spoke to the lady at the counter and she said he could have extra refills, so... problem solved. Which leads me to customer service. The employees here are wonderful. They are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied. The owners are actually from Philly, so these cheesesteaks are suppose to be totally authentic. Again, I've never been to Philly, so I can't really judge. I just know they are damn good! Stumbled upon this place thanks to the handy dandy Yelp app! Overall a pretty good experience! The kitchen worked with us to customize our sandwich and did the roasted garlic philly with chicken instead of steak. The bread and veggies (mushrooms, peppers, onions) were delightful! The chicken was just okay. Fried mushrooms were slices of a large portobello, fried extra crisp. Would definitely recommend! It is easy to spot as it is just across the street a bit from the Bridge of Lions on the 1st block of Kings St. They has neat sports memorabilia on the walls, sports or movies on the tvs and more than enough seating. This is a really good place to catch a few games and have some of the best sandwiches in st Augustine. They have Ruebens. I had to order one. One marbled rye and it was cooked like a Phili cheese steak sandwich. It wasn't layered with the corned beef kraut and 1000 island dressing. The cheese corned beef and kraut were cooked on the grill and mixed up nicely. Then put on the marbled rye and toasted. Never had it like this. Great touch. I'll be back for them. This is a good place for a quick, inexpensive sandwich. They have about 15 hot and 5 cold sandwiches with chips or a few sides. They have either bottled drinks, fountain drinks or beer. Borderline hangry satiated in just a few bites! We found this place on our last visit to St. Auggie and loved it. We couldn't stop talking about the food, the service and the memorabilia. So, of course when we came back we had to go there on our first night. Once again, the food was great. The service was excellent. The recommendations were great. I asked for a hot turkey sandwich and cold toppings and that is exactly what I got. Would I come here again? Of course. Do I recommend it? Yes, of course. What did I eat?
