We had our son's wedding rehearsal at Sonoma. Not only was the service outstanding but the food was incredible! This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in a long time. Went to Sonoma for the first time last night for me and my fiance's anniversary. The food was beyond incredible, probably one of the, if not the best meal we've ever had. The waitress knew it was our first time, so she took her time in explaining everything for us. The amuse bouche was a nice little bite, and the rolls with the tapanade were delicious. We had the cesar salad, and I got the seafood stir fry while my fiance got the duck. I've never seen so much seafood in a bowl before! Huge chunks of lobster, with large shrimp and perfectly cooked scallops. The duck was cooked perfectly, and each meal was accompanied by little portions of multiple side dishes, starches and vegetables. We unfortunately did not have room for dessert, but the waitress came by with the cart to show us each of the freshly made options, which looked amazing. We will definitely be returning! read more

When planning a "life event" such as a wedding there is little more frustrating than dealing with vendors that don't respond. We contacted Sonoma to discuss a rehearsal dinner and spoke to a very pleasant lady that promised us a call back to help us plan this event. It is now almost 48 hours and no call back. I guess that business is so good at Sonoma that our little party was of little or no importance to them. read more

Did I miss something? We went here for an anniversary dinner two years ago. Interior was straight out of a Golden Girl's restaurant set, nothing NYC about it. Food was fine, but nothing special. Strangest part of the evening was the dinner was served Thanksgiving-plate style: entree accompanied by a veritable buffet selection of 3 starches and 3 vegetables. A recent birthday dinner at Sonoma was terrific. Don't be put-off by the unassuming outside, which is located in a small strip mall. Inside the restaurant is low-key chic and well-focused on customer service. From appetizer (beef carpacio and apricot brie) to soup/salad (caesar salad in a toasted parmesan bowl and lobster chowder) to main course (gorgonzola sirloin and veal chop), we thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Our dessert choices (creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake) were disappointing ... but we had little room to spare by that time anyway, so the disappointment was fleeting. To me this is one of the best restaurants around. I would choose here over some of the places in Boston. The 3 times that we have gone have all been great. The food is excellent and cooked to order. The service is very good and the atmosphere is nice. So far i haven't had a bad meal. The price is a little expensive but comparing to Boston restaurants its a little less. The wine list is very nice as well. read more

This is a fabulous place for a special occasion. Wonderful for a date night. Fine dining and fabulous food make this one of our favorite special restaurants. All the sides are chose by the chef and I expecially love when they serve beets. I believe they change their menu often, seasonally perhaps. Whoever runs this place knows their stuff. LOVED this restaurant! Out in the middle of Nowhere, on a rural country road, with very little to entice us - we were thinking this would be just another 'o.k.' place along the way - WRONG! Stepping inside, we heard the live classical guitarist - lovely! Soothing and sweet. A short wait took us to the bar. The signature Pumpkin Martini - THE BEST I've ever had. In 15 short minutes (while listening to the strumming) we were seated. Our waitress - Wendy - was delightful. Professional, yet engaging - really knew the menu and very willing to help with decisions based on our preferences. The Caesar salad came in a lacy 'taco' type encrustation - made with Gruyere cheese with perfectly seasoned bites of Roman and white anchovies. Fabulous. My husband ordered beef tornadoes wrapped in bacon - he said it was 'the best steak' he has ever had - cooked to perfection at medium rare, served with a few tiny, tender and delightful fingerling potatoes and string beans. My dinner was the Veal Ossa Bucco - the day's special - It was beyond compare! Served on a bed of white cannolini beans in a light tomato 'stew/sauce' with fingerling potatoes, carrots and celery - Absolutely delicious! Very generous portion..The side was beautifully arranged baby beets, tiny fingerlings, delicata squash - sounds like 'too much' but the tiny and tasteful portions of side offerings were just enough and perfectly seasoned. Dessert - my favorite part of any meal ! -I chose the creme brule - two tasteful demitasse cups - one with maple-walnut, the other with ginger - perfect creamy texture, great crunchy top - with a side scoop of obviously homemade vanilla bean ice cream. Unbelievably good. My husband's apple crisp was the perfect end to a perfect meal. Yes - it was 'expensive' - but for the perfect ambiance, the attentive and very accomodating service, the lovely litling live music, a great cocktail, and the most delicious dessert ever - $100 for two (without bar bill) was a bargain! This will be a 'destination' spot for us - Can't wait to go back for the Winter Menu - as this was a PERFECT way to conclude an autumn drive through New England, read more

This place deserves every bit of 5 stars. You want craft beer? Don't come to a French restaurant....you were probably wearing shorts too. All those that complain about slow service have got to be kidding....stick to TGIF. The first time I went I ordered the bananas foster french toast and it was amazing. I've had that dish at a few places and this was one of the best. Since then I went back twice to get the same breakfast. It was still very good. So I've been telling my friend how good it is and we drive up today from leominster and the food fell off hard.. they didn't even make a foster sauce. It was made with cream instead of brown sugar and rum. It was disgusting. I asked the server if they got a new chef because the meal was completely different from the 3 times I had it before. She said the chef used a different caramel. It was done all wrong. They didn't even use the brioche bread it's supposed to be cooked with. This is supposed to be a high end breakfast. 62$ French toast and pancakes for the 3 of us. U expect it to be high end. I'm not sure I would chance wasting the money here again. The pickiest eater around has to report that Sonoma is not a 5 it's a 10! And I need to tell you that I owned a gourmet restaurant in New Orleans so I might have a good understanding of great food from good food. Ate there last night and the atmosphere, wait staff, all appetizers, main dishes, desserts and wines were superb. Menu changes frequently but I had the fried oysters, home-made egg rolls and raw beef for appetizers and a seafood paella (shrimp, scallops,lobster, littleneck clams, chorizo tasso ham, cooked with saffron rice and garnished with peppers and onions) for my main course, with fresh fruit and sorbet and a double espresso to end the meal. The owner-chef checked in with us at our table to see how we enjoyed the food and experience. Sonoma is about 12 miles from Worcester and in the middle of a country road, but if you choose fine dining in a romantic setting, it's worth the trip. Prices are what you would expect from a fine restaurant but not at all high. My main course was $32 but most were in the mid $20 range. read more
