Ruth Chris is probably my least favorite high-end steakhouse. However, the Christmas party was held here so it was not a selection of mine. Once again RC delivers at a lower quality than anyone else. Service was below average of what is expected. Maybe it's because it's in Worcester and the quality of servers is not as competitive as in Boston. Cocktails turned out to be very nice. Seafood tower was underwhelmed. Steaks and sides were average. I've always been disappointed with RC. Once again, they failed to deliver. read more

we came on a sunday evening for a predictably delicious dinner. our server, shavaun, provided the absolute best service i think anyone could possibly provide, she's definitely an exemplary server of the ruth's chris brand. jacob, our server assistant, was also excellent. the manager came over to check on us during our meal which was much appreciated. we started with the sizzling crab cakes, which were perfect. for our meals, we ordered the cowboy ribeye and the stuffed half chicken, with mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side. we also tried a bottle of their malbec cabernet which i really loved. the cowboy ribeye was cooked perfectly at medium rare, and i typically love the stuffed roasted half chicken, however there was slightly a bit too much something in the stuffing that i couldn't quite point out. it was still great, just could have been slightly less. crab cakes 9/10 cowboy ribeye 9.4/10 chicken 9/10 mashed potatoes 10/10 asparagus 10/10 malbec cabernet 10/10 i really enjoyed our meal here, and the service was impeccable. ruth's chris is always a satisfying meal for any occasion. ambiance: 5/5 food: 5/5 drinks: 5/5 service: 6/5 ruth's chris steak house: 5/5 read more

This review is for the Ruth's Chris bar where we had post dinner drinks, arriving from a different restaurant in the area. We were looking for a nice spot to have a drink and conversation. We initially wandered into The Mercantile, but it was packed and had at least 10 people between us and the maître de. We reversed direction and headed across the plaza to Ruth's Chris. This Ruth's Chris is relatively new and has a nice upscale bar area. They've had mixed dinner reviews on Yelp, including my prior review. But we found the bar venue to be a great spot for a quiet drink. The service was excellent, the bar stools comfortable, and the venue is attractive. The wine is on the pricier side, and I thought my cabernet was good, but not awesome and my co-diners also enjoyed their drinks. The total was $68 with tip, and I'd be happy to return. read more

They led us to a table sprinkled with "Happy Birthday" confetti such a thoughtful and subtle gesture that was perfect since the Birthday Boy doesn't like a lot of attention. Our waitress, Sybil, was absolutely amazing. She was attentive without hovering, quick to bring anything we needed, and so decisive when we weren't sure what to order. She walked us through the menu with confidence and made the whole process easy and enjoyable. She also explained the famous 500° plates, and let me tell you the food was phenomenal. we had an amazing Valentine's dinner at Ruth's Chris - Worcester. Our server, Anye, was perfection! Professional, knowledgeable, friendly without being overbearing. The meal was perfect - 8oz filet with lobster tail for me, 8 oz filet for my hubby. Au Gratin potatoes and Brussels sprouts rounded out our main course. For dessert we indulged in the carrot cake - what is there to say but OMG. The tables had rose petals scattered across the top and a rose was given to all the ladies. To be my top 3 restaurants, I'm giving this location two stars. Very unfortunate as I was excited to have them in this area. I'm originally from Boston, which caused me to patron the Waltham and Boston locations frequently. I made my reservation online. Last night's dinner was to celebrate my birthday with my toddler daughter. I made a confirmation the night I made the reservation and the restaurant itself called to confirm an hour prior asking the occasion. I arrived and the restaurant is empty. The staff was attending to an empty table putting confetti and moving glasses around a bouquet that was delivered. The hostess then attended to me and I advised her that I had a reservation. She placed the confetti jar away behind the desk and escorted my daughter and I to our table. The table was prepared for 4-5 ppl. My thoughts, why do I have to confirm my reservation twice if the table isn't set for me and the restaurant is completely empty. So anywho, we sit down and they don't take the place settings away. I move all the glasses, plates and silverware to the other side of the table and asked for them to be removed. Truthfully, my actual birthday was a snow storm and not such a good day, so I was looking forwarded to being greeted to a confetti'd table that stated Happy Birthday. But whatever. Staff: very pleasant. Food: TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! I get the same items every single time I dine at RC. That entails: lobster bisque, spicy shrimp, crab cakes, sweet potato casserole, creamed spinach and some type of meat. The lobster bisque was awful. I had two spoonful and didn't touch it again. My waitress asked if I liked it and I told her no. I asked her if the ingredients changed because it didn't taste the same. Crazy enough the table next to me was inquiring before I did (I don't think they liked it either). She said she could take it off the bill. Spicy shrimp and crab cakes were cooked perfectly. Sweet potato casserole....I again was disappointed as I was sooooooo looking forward to it. It was dry, stiff and overcooked. Nothing like the other locations. Creamed spinach was eh! And it's my #1 side on the menu. Okay now to the meat...I've never gotten the chicken before and this time I did. I stopped eating red meat and I had fish all week so I decided to give the chicken a try. I've heard some great reviews of the stuffed chicken and was excited to try something new. Let's just say, when I started to eat it, I didn't see what the rave was about. I would've never get this chicken again if this is the actual taste. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. Nowwwww to dessert...my absolute favorite. So much of a favorite...I'll order it as a plain takeout if I want sweets...bread pudding. When I received it my eyes lit up because it was sooooo huge. I found, Per Ruth's Chris Founder: Our steaks are cooked using a patented broiling method developed by our founder. They're served sizzling on 500-degree plates. The steaks are cooked in a designed proprietary 1800-degree broiler, and placed on a 500° plate with a pat of butter. This makes me so mad. We have been wanting to visit a Ruth's Cris, and what better time than when on vacation!? We were absolutely astounded by how delicious everything was. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, with a side of real butter. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly and so tender and wonderfully seasoned. The steak was cooked perfectly and the topping was decadently delicious. My partner got the petite filet and shrimp. It consisted of 2, 4oz filets and 4 artfully placed jumbo shrimp. The menu said there would be 6, we did not complain as shrimp were very big. Sides dishes are very generous in portions. We split the creamed spinach (yum!) and the au gratin potatoes--they were fine, rather bland-- we had doggie bags for the spinach, potatoes, and a petite. Something of note-- the bread for the table was a mini loaf of boring white bread and cold butter. It was a missed opportunity to start the food experience. The service was very good. We were there for my birthday, and the table was set with cheerful birthday confetti and a hand signed birthday card - very sweet. I was given a mini cheesecake with a candle for dessert. My partner got the crème brûlée. The presentation of both was pretty, but both lacked flavor and consistency. All in all, it was a lovely evening. We dropped by Ruth's Chris for happy hour prior to heading to a hockey game. I went with the cheeseburger as a friend of mine described as "the best burger in town". Unfortunately, this was not the case. The first burger that came out the top bun was completely frozen. I brought it up to the server who politely sent it back to the kitchen. The second was overcooked. I ordered medium rare and there was absolutely no pink in the center. This was a bit of a bummer as usually steak houses offer some of the best burgers around. The redeeming aspect of this visit was the customer service. The hostess, servers , manager all were incredibly attentive and polite. Also, on the plus side, they have one of the best Manhattans in town. All-in-all would probably think twice before going back to visit again. read more

This was one of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food was disgusting- it was cold and super bland. We sat at the bar and several people were complaining and sending food items back. The service was also not good. We tried to get the attention of our bartenders/servers and had no luck and was sitting there for about 25 minutes completely ignored. The group next to us also was ignored and had to yell for a bartender repeatedly before anyone came over. I would never eat here again. read more

While the steaks were delicious I could get the same steak ($81) elsewhere for half the price. Unfortunately, had to send it back because it was literally raw. They gave me the same steak back which was cooked Fine ... i didn't have a huge problem with that. What I did have a huge problem with was I couldn't finish my steak and wanted to box it up to take it home ... they literally put it in a doggy bag, not a box, but an actual bag... and while doing so a good size piece of my $81 rib eye fell on the floor! I might add that my leftover were packaged with the bone i told him I was bringing home to my dog. All unacceptable for a steak that costs $81. Drinks WAY overpriced... espresso martini $18 that I was able to drink in 6 sips. The sides were nothing special and again way overpriced. Our bill was $310 for 2 meals... go to longhorn steakhouse... same good food for half the price... not impressed... read more

Great steakhouse! Obviously they have a reputation but for this new location Worcester it's a 5 star for me!! They just opened August 1, and we went for our anniversary on Aug 3. We ordered: DRINKS: -blueberry mojito - amazing! -grey goose martini with stuffed olives - hubby highly recommends! APP: Mushrooms stuffed with seafood - WOW!! So flavorful and yummy. Definitely get!! ENTREES: -ribeye - holy. Shit. Best steak I've ever had!! So juicy, and flavorful and RICH!! -salmon with shrimp - also so good! We spent about $195 after tax and before tip. Ruth's Chris Comes to Worcester... and it's Fantastic! I've long wondered why a high-end steak house hadn't opened in Worcester. Thankfully, we don't have to wait any longer... the new Ruth's Chris, open for just under a month, is already impressing. After our meal last night, I can confidently say that this is now the top table in town. From our warm greeting upon arrival to dessert, everything was perfect. Kudos to the staff and management team for their dedication and hard work... not easy to do! The restaurant is well designed. The front room is the main dining room, with several comfortable booths. I love the glass wall, facing the street, letting in a lot of light during our early dinner, and it's nice to see the action on the street. This is an area of town that has really been built up. The next room is a great bar where I'm sure I'll be spending some time soon... some nice tables in this area too. Further back, I understand, there are a couple of private rooms that can seat up to 60. The kitchen was firing on all cylinders. The Seared Ahi Tuna with cucumber and a mustard-beer sauce is amazing... sushi quality and a great way to start. An excellent Ciabatta bread and butter is served warm for the table. The Crab Cakes were another winning appetizer served on their signature piping hot plate. The 11 oz Filet Mignon melted in your mouth, cooked perfectly medium rare. I needed the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and we never miss the Sweet Potato Casserole with pecan crust when we go to a Ruth's Chris. Both were served hot and were great accompaniments to our steaks. Cocktails were expertly made and the wines by the glass were very good. There's also a small well-chosen wine list by the bottle. Cheesecake w Fresh Berries and the Crème Brulée provided a great ending to a fantastic meal. Service was excellent throughout. Our server, Jaden, was very professional, friendly, and efficient. Management kept a watchful eye on the room during this busy Saturday night. One of the managers, Paul, stopped by various tables to make sure all was going well. We enjoyed speaking to him and was great about answering our questions about this exciting new place. Overall a 3.5- nice modern restaurant, no valet but cheap garage parking nearby. Service was 5 out 5- server was excellent... Menu- standard steak pricing but not as many sides- no fries. Had caesar but out of everything we ordered it was most disappointing- too much cheese and dressing- seemed pre-made- 2 out of 5 on salad.. Mac n cheese was a but funky but good bakes potato- 3 out 5 on sides.. We all had filets- all cooked correctly- a little salty but I'd say 4 out 5 on steaks I would go back but would consider Ruth Chris a step below Grill 23 and Cap Grille. read more

My wife and I went for our anniversary. we were seated when we arrived for our reservation. the table was set up and had little hearts sprinkled all over, a very nice touch. Michaela was our server, very professional and nice, took very good care of us through out the night. She gave us enough time to choose what we wanted and served us in a timely manner so we could enjoy our evening. We had crab cakes appetizer and Caesar salads which were among the best we ever had. We had a delicious meal with what we ordered. We had reservations for 5:45 and they took us at 5:15 instead, which we appreciated. The filet mignon's and ribeye's were perfectly cooked, but was by no means a perfect meal, but it has to do on a corporate level and in no way should be a reflection of the restaurant we went to. One of the issues was that in most places that serve crab cakes, while they were meaty and had hardly any filler in it, most other restaurants serve them with either tartar sauce or some kind of remoulade to dip them in so they aren't so dry. Second, was that most steakhouses that I have been to previously serve either grilled onions or French onion soup or even horseradish as either an appetizer or accompaniment to go with the steaks. I definitely found the number of appetizers lacking in variety and where they could add more to their menu, especially where most restaurants make more of a profit from their appetizers. We also found the sizes of the side dishes, for something that was supposed to be " family style ", was barely enough to spread between three people. Like I said, this is more on the company as the individual restaurant has no control over what is on their menu or how much they serve on their sides. read more

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and last night I decided to finally give it a chance. The restaurant is nicely decorated and well put together. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, since I had never been there before he explained everything to us and let us know his favorites on the menu. We ordered the barbecued shrimp for an appetizer, for some reason I thought it would be blackened shrimp (I'm not sure why I thought that) but it was still good nonetheless. For an entree we had the porterhouse steak for two and a side of lobster Mac and cheese. The entree was OK but the lobster Mac & cheese tasted a little dry and not cheesy enough for me. If I ever come back here I'm not sure I would order that again. For dessert I got the crème brûlée and it was as tasty as I expected it to be, since it was our anniversary they gave us the dessert for free and I thought that was sweet. I wouldn't be opposed to returning to this restaurant but maybe I will try a different side dish next time. read more

Went last night for a girls night. Seems like they are still trying to get into the hang of things which is completely expected as they just recently opened up. Ambience was nice, it really set the mood. Our server was sweet. We started off with the goat cheese and artichoke dip, the table thought it was OK. Could've gone without it. We got the mash potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and asparagus to split- those were fine. I had ordered a NY strip, medium well, however it came out completely medium rare. Starting with the positive, I'd come back here for the drinks. They have fun and tasty cocktails. However, it took about 20 minutes just to order and get the drinks....sitting at the bar! It took and hour and 15 minutes, just to get to the point we had ti flag someone down (again, at the bar) for the check and dessert to go, to get the heck out. There was a man dressed in a 5 piece suit who I'd assume is the manager. He just walked in circles and when we looked at him, he purposely looked out the window while walking by. Growing pains galore! Our reservation was for 4:45 and we arrived on time but it took the 15 minutes to ready our table even though we confirmed the time earlier in the day and the restaurant was nearly empty. Waitress was awesome, kitchen was not. We ordered specialty cocktails and all were very good. Ordered the seafood tower, calamari and artichoke & goat cheese dip. All were very good. The steaks and sides were not so fortunate. Most of the sides were only warm and barely warm at that. The steaks arrived on one big platter but we had ordered them a variety of ways from medium rare to medium well. I specifically ordered my bone in filet medium rare but it was barely pink inside and was more like medium well as 2 of the other filets were ordered. My bone in filet was full of gristle and tendons and was awful. I had ordered it with a truffle crust but there was just a blob of yellow goop plopped on top and it was so salty and awful, I scraped it off. The men ordered cowboy ribeyes medium rare and both said best steak they ever had. The creamed spinach appetizer was good but the rest of the sides were barely warm and the lobster Mac and cheese had already started for firm up and it's lobster meat was shredded and tasted like it was frozen while it cooked, not as fresh as we expected. Garlic mashed potato were only warm, had barely any garlic flavor and were super whipped, no lumps. Brussel sprouts were warm and still pretty firm. I prefer my sides all hot but sending them back would have been pointless. Reservation for 8 and spent $1200. I've been to 2 other Ruth's Chris in Virginia and this experience was not even close. Would have been nice to have all hot sides and all steaks cooked as ordered. read more

Apart from the growing pains of a new restaurant this place Is a much needed addition to Worcester's quickly expanding restaurant scene. It's a beautiful space, we had a booth on the window and it was perfect. Here's my one criticism: the lack of oysters on the seafood tower the night we were there was bizarre! Also, the two tiny cups containing basically crumbs of lump crab and fat too little tuna were unappealing in every respect. It felt Cheap and really ruined the tower. Other than that our steaks were perfectly cooked, served on sizzling platters and the sides were outstanding. The drinks and wine were perfect as well. OUR server was excellent but there was a busser who was speaking loudly about some issue he was having....like I said growing pains will always be an issue. I'm sure they will iron out the kinks and this place will become "go to" spot! read more
