Always our go-to when we want sushi and adult beverages! We've never had a dish we didn't love, and prices are comparable to other Japanese restaurants. They don't have Chinese apps like chicken or beef teriyaki on a stick, but they do have crab rangoons which are delicious.

Very impressed with Kai! I didn't know Kai existed in Worcester for the longest time since most people talk about Baba Sushi. I heard that Kai was offering Omakase so I had to check it out. I called to make a reservation and learned that they offer omakase at certain times of the month. Kai was super easy to find, it's located in a shopping center with a Shaws and Planet Fitness but parking was still plentiful. It's pretty small inside so I definitely recommend reservations or coming during a not so busy time. We did Omakase which was $110 per person and we got 14 courses along with miso soup. We were so impressed with the attention to detail and just the overall art and thought put into each dish. The chef brought us many of the dishes and personally gave us an explanation on each of them. We truly were treated like VIP. For this price point, I don't think Kai can be beat. Each course is bigger than many of the courses you'd get at city Omakase spots. And Kai is much cheaper than going to Boston for it. Overall, I highly recommend Kai!

We stopped in last night for the first time for dinner. This is a smaller place located in a busy shopping plaza, but everyone working there was friendly. There were times though when I was trying to order where the waitress thought i was done talking and tried walking away. This kept happening a couple times and she forgot to put our appetizer in and when we asked about, she asked if we still wanted it( our sushi had came out at that point) There were only two other couples dining so it wasn't like they were slammed. Sushi was good quality, although not the freshest or best rolls I've ever had. The boat presentation definitely added a nice touch! All in all we would probably stop in again.

Been visiting Kai off and on for years, mostly for takeout. Went here yesterday with a couple of my close friends for some sushi and apps. Sushi here is always very good and fresh, and I like the large Chinese porcelain dishes they serve the sushi in. The servers here are also very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and be back!

Fancy rolls and not so fancy rolls. All yummy.

You'd have to be quite the sushi snob to not LOVE this place. Food is amazing and a convenient spot. Down to earth atmosphere with patrons enjoying themselves at the bar and good service..

I was a regular here while I was in college. But I couldn't resist stopping by when I'm in the area. The wait for food is a little long but it's so worth it for the price. Here are some favs that I always get: Salmon belly nigiri: $8 for 2 pieces but the salmon is perfectly torched and glazed with a sweet sauce. Beetle roll: the combination of crispy salmon skin with avo and apples work so well here Volcano roll: the crab and sriracha Mayo mixture on top of the sushi is to die for! So good This time we tried the toro maki which is great but I don't think it's worth the price. I would rather get the dragon roll instead!

Oh, my sweet, sweet, Lord! The quality of the fish in this place is impressive! I would never believe to find such quality on a strip mall. I order sushi pieces individually: Saba, American uní, Japanese uni, and other as well as the Omakase nigiri appetizer, with gems such as toro, scallops, and other that I devoured so fast I couldn't remembered their names. The interior is unassuming and the exterior seem like a generic place. It it wasn't for the "OPEN" sign, I wouldn't entered thinking it was closed. Please, Go over yourself and enter, you will grateful you did. Enthusiastically recommended!

Disappointed With This Takeout Order We've dined in here several times pre-pandemic, and have enjoyed some good meals. Last night was our first takeout order, and we found mixed results. Salmon Sashimi - Excellent Chicken Fried Rice - Mediocre (Rice was heavy, stuck together, chicken was a little overcooked) Gyoza - Poor (Way overcooked) Lambchops - Mediocre (Half of these were overcooked) Crab Rangoon - Good Teriyaki Chicken Wings - Fair (Heavily breaded) When they assembled my order into the bags, the sushi was placed in the same bag as the hot food. It would have been better if they had a hot and cold food separation policy. Though the staff were all wearing masks, there was no guidance that I could see on social distancing, no indication where to stand, or how to pay for orders to go, they didn't accept payment over the phone, there was no hand sanitizer visible. There is much they could do here to improve safety protocols. Would I return here? Perhaps in the future when dining in is more appropriate, In the meantime I'd try a different venue next time we're in a Sushi frame of mind.

The Omakase dining experience is amazing! The food is high quality and delicious! The staff are kind & Chef Timmy is a creative genius . Love this small & intimate setting.

If you can sit at the bar or in one of the 2 tables by the window, you'll get excellent service. The charcuterie board is great, and the drink selection is also pretty good. However, the last time we came here, it was the middle of the afternoon on Valentine's day. I'm from Boston and Cape Cod and my partner is European; we look like it and we act like it. Upon a brief interaction with the hostess, we both felt spoken down to: "YOU'RE trying to come in on Valentine's day? Without a reservation?" This, coming from someone with a Worcester accent who was dressed like a boy going to church choir. We were shooed away into the dining area: "I guess you could stand over there and look at the menu". It's about 330 in the afternoon- most tables are completely empty. Then a different staff member, also with a working class accent, says "I need you to clear out of this walkway because this is for staff only", despite the fact that no staff were walking there and we had been standing there about 20-30 seconds. We left without saying anything as the hostess tried to say something to us. If you want to feel spoken down to, in the working class city of Worcester no less, come here. Alternately, if you're feeling aggressive and want to squeeze your way in to sit touching shoulder to shoulder, come here. The time before this, the hostess was a soft-spoken woman who mumbled a lot; we had to elbow people out of the way at the middle bar section, which is where she directed us. Maybe in another year I'll want to come back for lunch only. Honestly, I'd rather drive back to Boston if I'm going to be treated snobbishly.

The kitchen is open to the dining room, nice, clean open.. but then the cooking team has an audience in the dining room. I don't think they know? I certainly appreciate 110 Grill being open later than most, but it puts a bummer on dinner to hear how much they didn't want to be working, got screwed with that shift, or found their stations in disarray, whatever. I don't let my kids use that much foul language at the dinner table, but here we had to just kind of pretend we weren't dining to a chorus of f-bombs and excrement. Maybe it's usually busier/louder in the dining room and doesn't reverberate through? I'm telling you it was weird, man. There was some humorous irony to the excellent front of the house. Friendly, cheerful, professional, and helpful. For all the grumbling, the food came out of the kitchen just fine. Cuban sandwich was tasty, but could have used some kind of sauce or moist anything.

He was friendly, personable, and really made the night enjoyable. He had the menu completely dialed in, gave great recommendations for sides, and kept things light with conversation and humor throughout dinner. That level of service really elevates the whole experience. We also have to recognize the cook, also named Jeff, because the food was phenomenal across the board. My son ordered the New York strip steak, and it was hands down the best steak he's ever had. My daughter had shrimp and tried some of the steak as well and loved both. My wife ordered the baked cod--it was incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly. She actually couldn't finish it, not because it wasn't amazing, but because she filled up on the appetizer and was genuinely disappointed she couldn't keep going. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic--great balance of heat and flavor. For an appetizer, we tried the BBQ chicken nachos. Definitely something different for us, but we couldn't stop eating them--they were that good. The ambiance was exactly what you want: comfortable, relaxed, and not over the top. Between the incredible food, top-notch service, and overall atmosphere, this was a 5-star experience all around. Highly recommend.

Mare E Monti - Exceptional Authentic Italian & Seafood Pasta Spot in Worcester, MA…read more Mare E Monti is an exceptional Italian gem -- probably home to the best seafood pasta I've ever had. I was in town ahead of a half marathon near Hampton Beach on Sunday. After a long drive and a surprise call that my extended family was touring the East Coast nearby, we decided to meet halfway -- and Worcester made perfect sense. I booked a table for eight at 8 PM on Saturday. We miscounted our party, which led to about a 45-minute wait, but honestly, that just gave us more time to catch up. The interior strikes a lovely balance -- rustic yet modern, cozy yet romantic, and unmistakably Italian in feel. Starters We kicked off with two plates of Calamari Fritti -- classic native calamari, lightly fried and tossed with cherry peppers and a delicate butter sauce. Absolutely delicious; I had to restrain myself from finishing the whole plate. Complimentary garlic bread with olive oil was also served, and I stopped myself at 2-3 slices to save room for the race-fueling carbs to come. For salad, I chose the Insalata Casalinga -- crisp field greens, grape tomatoes, julienne carrots, cucumbers, red onion, and imported olives in a light vinaigrette. Simple, fresh, and highly recommended. The Main Event The real reason I chose Mare E Monti was simple: carb loading. I went with the Pasta con Cozze e Fagioli -- sautéed mussels in a garlic white wine sauce with diced tomatoes and cannellini beans, tossed with linguine. It was everything I'd hoped for: flavorful yet light, satisfying without being heavy. The mussels were tender, the beans added substance, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. Others at the table tried the Ravioli di Aragosta (lobster ravioli) on my recommendation. I snagged a bite -- and it was heavenly. Rich, delicate, and beautifully balanced. Final Thoughts Dinner here was the perfect pre-race meal -- nourishing without weighing me down. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service attentive, and the food consistently excellent. Even parking was simple; I found easy street parking just around the corner (though valet is also available). Oh, and the next morning? I ran a personal best in my half marathon -- just over 1 hour and 20 minutes. I'd like to think the perfect plate of pasta helped fuel that finish. All in all, Mare E Monti is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine and standout seafood pasta in the Worcester area. I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in Massachusetts. Damn ... this place got expensive! I went here several years ago and decided that I wanted to try…read moreit again. The prices had tripled. I am not blaming the restaurant because the world post-covid has gone absolutely insane from an inflation standpoint. With beef as their 'go to' and chicken no longer being a 'loss leader's (now costing what steak did two years ago, it's not the restaurant's fault. However, I nearly fell out of my chair when I learned the All You Can eat lunch price was nearly $50! For this type of 'cafeteria', a total shocker. The other (better) option is the pay per pound. $17 for salad bar and meat and $20 for just meat. I did the salad bar ... you'd be surprised how much two plantains and a slice of tomato weigh! Salad bar: The rice was very good. The plantains were perfect. The French fries were surprisingly good. They had all kinds of fresh vegetables, mayonaise-covered salads and a huge variety of items. I suppose it would be worth it to get this alone ... however this is where the heavy items that add weight to the price are. Meat station: The guy serving was nice enough but spoke maybe two words of English. I speak English, Spanish and French but no Portuguese ... so we had a difficult time when it came to relating how big a slice I wanted, or how many pieces. My guess is that he is hired more for his expertise running the grill than for serving. And he did a great job as the meat was cooked perfectly. Bacon wrapped chicken ... The only disappointment of the meal. The chicken (and bacon) was dry. It really didn't taste like bacon and the only reason I finished my piece was because I had paid for it. Flank steak ... So good! The outside had a nice char with a salty, almost crunchy texture while the inside was juicy and flavorful. This was my favourite item and I actually went back to get a second plate, despite how filling it is. Garlic steak ... Incredibly salty. A little goes a long way. I didn't get any garlic taste ... it was mostly just salt. I liked it but would choose the flank steak (which is also salty) over this as the marinade made it a little drier. Pork sausage ... Very nice. I didn't notice a huge difference between the spicy and non-spicy but it was cooked really well and it was flavorful. Pineapple ... Okay, this is a must get! This was oddly my favorite part of the meal. I have never had pineapple this good. It is done on the grill with the entire pineapple and they slice pieces off. It is covered in a brown butter sauce that is so flavourful, it is certainly one of the best pineapple dishes I've ever eaten. Because there was a line and the pieces of paper with the meat choices are mostly in Portuguese, I didn't get to try all I'd have liked to ask ordering felt rushed with the line waiting behind me. The all-you-can eat will likely give you the opportunity to try a little of everything. Overall, the better value seems doing the pay by weight and going back for seconds if you are hungry. My first plate was some salad bar stuff (tomato slice, cucumber, plantains, yellow rice and a few french fries) plus a strip of flank steak, bacon wrapped chicken and a pork sausage. That was $17 and I could have stopped there. My second plate was two strips of flank steak, a strip of garlic steak, a piece of pineapple and two plantains from the salad bar. This one was $12. My total with a $2.25 lemon aid (terrible and flavorless from a jug) and a tip was around $35. Expensive for lunch ... but I probably didn't need as much steak on round 2 as I left feeling stuffed. Everything was tasty and while the atmosphere feels more like a cafeteria in a Caribbean country ... and the seating arrangement makes you snake through tables to get to the salad bar or meat station, everything seemed spotlessly clean. I will certainly return again, despite a fairly high lunch price. If there is one tip I can give you ... don't skip the pineapple from the meat station.
