Sashimi to go
Alan B.

At this time, Osaka remains a takeout only venue. I dined here often in the PP (Pre-Pandemic) era, but this was my first visit in 15 months. I ordered two sashimi appetizers to go, my order was taken promptly, and it only took them 9-minutes to complete the order. The Sashimi Appetizer included 6 large slices of sashimi which consisted of salmon, tuna and yellow tail. The yellow tail was excellent, the salmon and tuna were both good. One piece of salmon had a texture that was too chewy. Standard sides accompanied the dish, some cucumber slices, ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce. I hope Osaka reopens their inside dining and would be happy to return here for dine-in or take out.

salad and Miso Soup

Best birthday dinner ever! From start to finish was great! The salad was delicious especially the dressing! The miso soup is also delicious. The owners/employees are very nice! Starting with light appetizers followed by hibachi, they made the onion volcano, big fire! The shirley temple was great with all the cherries! Catching the zucchini chunks was amazing so much fun! The bathroom is very clean, it has lots of paper towels not the hand dryers!

Hands down the best hibachi I've ever had. My order was cooked to perfection and the rice was super flavorful. My kids had a blast watching the chefs cook in front of them. The staff was very professional and kind. My family and I will Definitely will be going here more often.

It's a nice low light intimate atmosphere and even full it wasn't too loud. Our waitress was the kind of professional who made excellent recommendations, knew when to check in on us, kept our drinks filled, and knew when to leave us alone. She was friendly and inviting. The food was fantastic. We had the crab cake appetizer which was light and refreshing especially with the apple slaw. I had the surf and turf for my main course. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the stuffing was delicious, and my steak was fantastic. Cooked to absolute perfection. Juicy, velvety, melt in your mouth along with that nice thin sear you want on the surface. We didn't get to try the sushi, will have to try another time. It's definitely a place to go back to.

Delicious, but deceptive. The 24 oz Boneless Ribeye: This isn't a steak; it's a structural hazard. At ounce 18, I started seeing through time. By ounce 24, I felt like I had conquered a small kingdom. Perfectly seared and seasoned for maximum meat-sweats. The Swordfish Nantucket: My companion's "sophisticated" choice. Fresh, flaky, and elegant--basically the polar opposite of my slab of prehistoric protein. It tastes like owning a yacht, even if you actually drive a Honda. The Verdict: Go for the food, stay because you're physically too heavy to leave the booth. Pro Tip: Wear your "stretchy" pants. If you wear a belt to tackle that Ribeye, you're just creating a high-velocity projectile risk for the other diners.

But the quality and service were very good, so if you're OK with spending a bit, it might be fine. Friends tell me I should have just swiped left on a dating suggestion for someone who says "the man should pay" on first date. She had picked the venue, and when we sat down immediately bought a mixed drink (before noon) and an expensive entree without consulting me. Not that I think a woman needs to consult a man, but then again I don't think a man should always be the one to pay either. Was any of that the restaurant's fault? Not exactly. But the fact that the prices seemed more than I'd ordinarily want to pay for lunch didn't help that event be successful. Or maybe it did. Maybe she is just happy with a lot of first dates where the other person buys and then, like me, doesn't ask again. Personally, I would recommend other venues for a first date. But, then again, if you're looking for something a little upscale, this might be fine. I'd compare it to the Cheesecake Factory, for example, but maybe with fewer dessert options.

Every staffer we interacted with was excessively friendly and professional, and we discussed this throughout the meal. Starters: carpaccio, crab cakes, oysters, beef wonton. Crab cakes were the favorite, we described it as the perfect seafood stuffing. Beef wontons were a disappointment (for the price), and I wouldn't order them again. 4 rather small (essentially) empanada/rangoon, that didn't have much flavor on their own; came with a beef gravy, that wasn't a fit for me. For mains, we all ordered different steaks. Several were undercooked. I had ordered mine medium, and it was closer to rare; another ordered medium rare & described it as black and blue. Myself and a friend who ordered the ribeye felt they were tougher than we were expecting. The waitress did check in, and we opted not to send the steaks back (which is on us). The sides were quite good. Garlic mashed, Dijon glazed carrots, and asparagus with hollandaise. Carrots were the top winner. While we were all full, we opted in for dessert. Strawberry shortcake, dark chocolate & caramel bread pudding, and sorbetto. The pound cake was a bit too dense for me, and I like a bit more strawberry "sauce", that often gets sopped up by the cake. Bread pudding was perfect, dark chocolate crust on the top made it unique. Sorbetto was flavorful. Something to be aware of - there are lots of small upcharges, that aren't always clear (that a given thing costs more). Would you like bacon on your salad, $3; you're sharing that dessert, would you like an extra scoop of ice cream, $2.5. These may've been noted on the menu and I hadn't noticed. Each individual addition wasn't costly, but over the course of a meal, it did add up.

If you search for Salmon on their online menu, you get 47 hits! Service was good, then again we were essentially on our own. The Salmon was good, not the best I've ever had, but tasty. The Fried Rice was also tasty, but very salty. The Scallion Pancakes were crispy and nicely cooked, we really liked these. And the Gyoza was very tasty, but should have been crisper. Overall, a very enjoyable "Linner" and a 4-star dining experience. I would return here if in the area.

We attended a private mid-week event, and despite the size of the group, the staff seemed to do a great job having drinks and food brought out to everyone in a timely manner. The staff was courteous, professional, and friendly - this place seems to be well managed and have a good understanding of what it means to be in the hospitality industry! First of all, the warm bread and butter basket served was a great first impression. Delicious dinner rolls served hot! Our starter salads, while not large and somewhat basic, were presented nicely in modern bowls and consisted of fresh, delicate greens, a few cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes. The entrees we selected from were okay. Unfortunately, all steaks for this event were served medium, and I found mine to be less tender than my desired medium rare. Surprisingly, the naturally sweet asparagus...my first of the season...was perfect and somehow managed to upstage buttery smooth mashed potatoes and beef! Similarly, the thick toothy al dente fettuccini was the highlight of the chicken parmesan entrees, as the house-made chicken parm couldn't stand up to the chicken parm my wife makes in our house.
