The Woo is one of my favorite restaurants, especially when it's a nice day to sit outside. We were at the Woo recently and didn't have the amazing meals we usually do. We both enjoyed our usual appetizers...my husband loves their chourico sausage app and I love their nachos. I usually always get the eggplant parmigiana which I love, but I switched it up and got the chicken Caesar wrap which was just okay ( and a little dry). My husband got the pasta with chicken and broccoli and although it looked amazing it was really really oily and tasted like they just poured olive oil in it, he always finishes his meals and helps me with mine too. This was the first time my husband didn't eat his whole meal. We'll come again, but we'll definitely stick with our usual favorites next time. read more

We arrived around Noon on a cold, blustery New England day, in search of some comfort food. The Woo Bar & Grill boasted a high Yelp rating, and we decided to check it out. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly and cheerful waitress who invited us to select a seat. There were a few people seated at the bar, we were the first at a table. We selected: THE WOO CHEESEBURGER $15.99 with Swiss Cheese and Fries FRIED HADDOCK (DAILY SPECIAL) $22.95 with Fries Our food arrived in about 15 minutes, and my knee jerk reaction was that the food looked good. It's funny how you can often discern how a meal will taste at first glance. It reminds me of Blink by Malcolm Gladwell where he examines how the subconscious mind can make fast and accurate judgments in the blink of an eye. A quick bite of my first French fry confirmed my prediction, a hot crispy and slightly salty fry that was delicious. There was an abundant helping of them, it was difficult not to finish all of these! The burger came partially assembled, the top bun was off and topped by lettuce, two thick slices of tomato and onion. I always appreciate this approach as I don't like raw onions and don't typically have a tomato slice on a cheeseburger. So, I removed everything but one piece of lettuce and was about to take a bite out of a delicious looking burger. However, the tomato slice also looked good. Considering how bad the tomatoes were the prior evening at Via which is on the same street as the Woo Bar & Grill, I was reticent. I sliced off a small piece of tomato, and to my surprise, it was excellent, and I quickly consumed the slice. Kudos to Woo, they should let Via know where they get their tomatoes! The burger patty looked thick and juicy (similar to what I use when grilling in the summer) and was resting on a nicely toasted bun. It tasted as good as it looked. No doubt, this wasn't a lean burger, which is one of the reasons it tasted good! The last thing I want is a dry, 93% lean meat patty on the rare occasions I eat a burger. It was topped with a substantial portion of Swiss cheese and cooked as ordered. I also sampled the fried haddock, which tasted fresh and relatively light. It was also very good (but not as good as my cheeseburger!). A gourmet meal, no, but a delicious lunch yes! I can see why this place has high ratings; we greatly enjoyed our lunch. A tip for my fellow Yelpers: I bet this place can get loud, with high ceilings and few soft acoustic elements. If you want a quiet lunch or dinner, come at a slower time. read more

I tried this spot after reading reviews. It is definitely overrated. Food tasted pre bought frozen and prepared to serve as it was fresh, which did not present to the pallet. If anything, a positive it did remind me of my youth a frozen pizza my parents would buy. read more

Food was just OK. Nothing wrong with it. Just nothing special. Not particularly flavorful. OK in a pinch I suppose, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Service was great. Environment was pretty loud, but I guess that's to be expected for a sports bar kind of thing. Oh, and parking is interesting. I had the best experience here on Saturday evening my better half and I were headed to Polar Park for the Cosmic Takeover Tour. Knowing the line to get food or drinks at the park we decided to hit Shrewsbury St. first to have a bite. Knowing the city so well I thought we'd be waiting forever and we've been wanting to hit the Woo Bar. My lady used to work with an employee that works there and thankfully she was working and managed to get us a great table on the patio. Ally is awesome. Suggested the best drinks and food. She started with a guava cosmo. And I like watermelon so I got the watermelon martini. We started with the pickle pizza. It was awesome. I decided on the tuna wrap special. And my lady had the bang bang salmon. The sauce on the salmon was just the right amount of flavor and spice. Maybe 3 bites in we both realized it was too good to leave behind. So we had them boxed! When she suggested the pistachio martini for dessert my woman's eyes lit up. So we decided to split one. Best decision of my life. What a great experience! Stopped by here at the recommendation of Bring Fido. We were traveling with our two Newfoundland dogs and Woo bar's staff could not have been nicer or more welcoming. They seated us in their lovely back garden dining area. This would have been enough to make us happy, but then came the drinks and the food. The cocktails were perfection. I had a Rosemary smoked Whiskey sour and my husband had the Watermelon martini. Both were fantastic. We had the Woo burger which was cooked perfectly and shared an appetizer. We've gone here for drinks (which are always great) a couple of times but never got there early enough to eat. We finally had dinner at the bar last night. I got the Lemon Arugula Pizza with chicken and it was very good! My partner got the Garlic Chicken Pasta and that was wicked good too! Husband and I stopped in for a quick dinner. Food was great! We enjoyed fried pickles for an app, very tasty, great breading! Husband had and old fashioned, which was very strong, to his liking. Ordered steak tips with fresh mushrooms, and wife had the Philly cheese steak sandwich, both with fries. If you have nothing else, their French fries are top notch, and managed to finish them before the rest of the meal. That is not to say the rest of the meal was bad, quite the contrary. I am only saying they have their fryers dialed in. Crisp and brown on the outside, fluffy and cooked on the inside. But I digress. There are no prices on the drink menu! When I asked for a list of prices the bartender said all the cocktails were 12 and the wine was different prices. He could not give me a written list. I asked how much the Pinot noir was and he said 9 - I ordered and when I got the bill he charged me 11. I said he told me it was 9 and he said he made a mistake.
